I always enjoy eating at Freebirds! They had a couple of things that make them different from Chipotle the first time i went years ago: different types of tortillas and Queso. In my opinion Freebirds has much better Queso than Chipotle's take on it. I love the college like authmosphere that they place has, and how they always JAM PACK you burritos or bowls. It feels like they give you a bit more bang for your buck. The staff at this location is really nice and the food was well seasoned and tasted great! I tend to go with the Chicken and pile almost everything else on top of it that I can. The mix of flavors is great, as well is their jalapeno cream salsa! The only bad thing about this Freebird's is the location, as it can be a nightmare getting in and out of the parking lot, especially at lunch time, but I will not count this against the score just more of an FYI for you. Great place and will continue to come by.

Went to try the new potatoes item. Left with salmonella. Firstly, when I entered freebirds today I was greeted with workers improperly wearing their masks, their noses completely exposed. Secondly, the portions were off tremendously as my monster burrito was the same size as a freebird burrito. Third and most importantly, every bite I took of my burrito tasted worst than the last-- and that's coming from a regular freebirds customer. At first I thought they had seasoned things wrong but upon opening to finish my burrito when I got home and inspecting earlier pictures I had taken of the atrocity that me and the two people with me ate, I noticed pink, raw, uncooked chicken. The gentlemen that were serving today I didn't get a chance to retrieve their names, but one had tattoos all over his arm, the other tall brunette with glasses, and I think the cook with long hair and bangs. So angry. And horrified. Serving undercooked chicken during a pandemic and not taking COVID protocols of wearing masks correctly too? Disgusting. I see previous reviews about undercooked chicken and it's evident this location doesn't change its habits. Must be closed down immediately.

It's hard to write this review. Freebirds was my favorite burrito restaurant and one of my top 5 favorite restaurants of all time for years. Their queso and chips were second to none. Their Burritos were flavorful and unique. And the experience of being inside of one was just...greatness. And here, at the Richardson location, was by far my favorite of the bunch. It got me through COVID, I was ordering from them a couple times a week when everything shut down! And then, in January of 2021, they completely changed their ingredients and so many of their recipes. Their queso is watery and flavorless. Their chips are burnt tasting, often stale, and disgusting. Their burritos are not good and most of their sauces and other items have lost so much of that flavor that made them great. I've spent the last few years trying them again and again every couple of months and it just getting worse. This isn't a Richardson specific problem, this is a Freebirds problem. All of their restaurants have the same bland / not good food. And it's a shame, because they were far and away the best of the best and now they're mediocre and behind just about every other burrito place out there. Even the atmosphere has changed. It's corporate (not that corporate is a bad thing, but at Freebirds there was always this feeling that the employees had ownership, were well compensated, and enjoyed their work, that feeling disappeared over COVID and hasn't come back). So this is my goodbye to Freebirds. May you find what once made you so good and go back to it before its too late.

Be careful placing an order at this location for pick up or delivery. This location has failed multiple times in assuring my order is completed correctly. The number of times I do pick up, check my order then and there and then have to get in line because I’m missing a side is ridiculous. Delivery is worse. Call after placing your order to make sure this restaurant includes any side items you purchase because they will NOT bother to pay attention otherwise. Is it annoying having to call? YES! Unfortunately this Freebirds is so careless that customers aren’t left with much of a choice. And to the representative who replies to these reviews, keep your empty apologies and focus on improving order fulfillment practices instead.

First time ever at a Freebirds and I won't return. I got the Monster Burrito with Pork and I was satisfied with how large it was. But I added guacamole which was an extra 2 dollars. Total was around $16 after a tip. The burrito was lukewarm, bland tasting overall. Nothing really popped or had much flavor. Looking back I should have just gone to Chipotle.

Yeah so, I had ordered my freebird tortilla and the server accidentally put beans on the burrito and she scraped it off and put it into a bowl (keep in mind I have a stomach condition that I have to keep a specific diet around and sensitive to ingredients like beans). I’m contemplating whether I should let it go but I decided to just order a new freebird instead and as I’m walking around to get in line again I see her gossiping about my order to her coworker who then gives me a snarky look. Be professional about your mistakes and apologize like the cashier did on y’all’s behalf, without having to open your mouth about it while the customer is still there …seriously

This location really has gone down in service. The portion size for a monster was ridiculous. The server was rude and was even making fun of my choices. Freebirds is great, but go to a different location. I know we won't be back to the Richardson location again.

This is by far the worst freebirds location I’ve been to. They got 1 star for their drinks because that’s hard to mess up. They ran out of the soda syrups, and tea… they weren’t even busy! It was literally lunch time. Also they literally just sprinkled the chicken on my burrito. All and I mean all their tables were dirty! My sister had to wipe our table clean. So did the people next to us. Their lids weren’t stocked AND their ice was empty! I’ve never had a negative experience at any other location. They had 5 people on today and I can’t believe this place is so disgusting and dirty! There’s a pandemic going on!!!! I took pictures to prove it. Unacceptable! Never will come here again. That’s what we are able to see imagine what we can’t see.

The food is ok. But the service is Top Notch! This manager was so sweet. She explained everything to us step by step. Very patient with us asking questions. She made us feel like we were a part of her family eating at her house. Wonderful lady. Sorry I didn't get her name.

Great lunch or quick bite stop. Can't go wrong with a burrito, nachos or salad with your favorite toppings. Chicken, beef or veggies an much more. If you are daring an like hot stuff add there death sauce spice it up a little more. Top of with chip and queso or sauce. Either way enjoy.

My family looks creating their own burrito and I enjoy the bowls. I asked for brown rice but they don't have it, wish they did. The only big complaint is with the volume of the music. We went in on a Sunday and it was so loud I couldn't even talk to the person next to me! Yes, we are of an age known for complaining about it being loud, but we like music and enjoy a lovely atmosphere but this was beyond that. We chose to sit outside for that reason on a hot day. My husband really likes Freebirds but we'll be thinking twice before we choose it again based upon the music level.

I hadn't been here in 15 years but its not the same as I remembered it. I feel like chipotle is better in taste. The size here is bigger, but not always better. I wouldn't come back here; maybe in another 15 years.

Solid chain with great tex-mex burritos and bowls. The employees are always helpful and happy to assist anytime I have an issue with an online order. My only complaint is that while ordering online is easy, for some reason you cannot order fountain drinks online to grab in store. Compared with Chipotle, they have less staffing issues and even better selection for the same price. Spicy cayenne tortillas are amazing and bring the burritos to a new level.

Become my place to pick up burritos. Be it a bowl or wrap you will have fun talking through the order. Visited the place after a very long time and the place so proves to satisfy my taste buds.

They messed up my order multiple times and were very stingy with the chips and queso I paid for. To top it off the food was not good so it was a complete waste of time for me.

I was kind of disappointed my rice was dried out and the brisket and chicken both lacked flavor that I feel you get from Qdoba. The server was quick and friendly. The store was empty but a lot of the tables were dirty and the floor was slippery.

I got a rice bowl, didn't taste right and way too overpriced for what it was. Very light handed on topping even though I paid extra for it. Overall, you're better off going to the chipotle across the street. Will not be back honestly

Surprisingly fewer options than the last time I visited a Free Birds (which I usually prefer over Chipotle). This location had only two sizes for burritos, less options for what to put in it, the cilantro-lime rice had neither cilantro nor lime, and my wife's salad bowl had wilting lettuce that was on the verge of going bad. In the future, I'll be going to the Plano location.

I'm going to rate Freebirds a two star because of the rules between the monster and regular bowl. I ordered the monster bowl thinking eating some now and saving some for tomorrow. As I go down the line to get what I want on mines and get to the register and was like this isn't filling the bowl. So I address it and was given the option to get beans or more lettuce or corn. I don't like the beans so no didn't want beans. I got what I wanted on it and to ME I felt the bowl should have been filled with what I wanted. You are paying for the size of the bowl in my eyes. That's when I was informed for monster bowl you get 3 scoops of rice and meat vs 2 scoops in the regular bowl. I didn't know that and told them to dump mines in a regular bowl he didn't want to mess the bowl up and I told him it doesn't matter I'm going to mix it up anyway then he said well you have 2 scoops of meat and rice. I started to say take a scoop out or even that I don't want the bowl at all and go back in the line and re-order a regular or go elsewhere. He compromised took $2 off and a complimentary drink. But I know next time. I am writing this review for those who don't know the difference between the two so with monster you need to fill your bowl up with everything they have pretty much in order for the bowl to be a monster NOT with only the things that you like because if you do, you will end up with a regular size bowl in a monster and paying for the monster. Freebirds really need to change this because apparently they have to explain this all the time to customers according to the manager. Again, there was nothing wrong with the service or food, but HOW they determine a monster vs regular. You're not getting what you pay for only if you get a lot of options (which you could be allergic to or simply just don't like).

Overall! I enjoyed every bit of my order. The Tacos and Queso were superb! Also the burrito bowl was phenomenal. Must start ordering from here more often!!

It's okay. In my opinion, Freebirds has really gone down in quality over the past few years. This one always seems to have something out of stock. It used to be a fun alternative to Chipotle, and now it feels like a cheaper alternative.
