I’ve been visiting this thrift store at this location for nearly a decade and my last visit confirmed for me that I’ll never be visiting again. Whoever is in charge of pricing the inventory is out of their mind. More expensive than shopping retail. This store epitomizes corporate greed….

I don’t shop at or donate to any of the Unique stores anymore because their PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS!!! I used to shop here 2-3 times per week as well as the stores in South Plainfield and Elizabeth, but not anymore. Ever since they switched to their new “discount” system, the prices have gotten out of control. They used to get decent stuff, and have a huge selection of goods, but that has also changed. Shelves are sparse and what is available are sub par brands and styles marked at crazy high prices. Used forever 21 for $19?! No thanks! Before the new “discount” system started I spent a couple hundred dollars a week here, now I drive right by because it’s a waste of time. You are not Nordstrom, Unique… learn how to price your items, clean your store and be nicer to your customers!

Good selection, HORRIBLE prices, WORSE manager. Rude to his workers, his customers and everyone in between. Little man with a big ego, need to tone it down. $69 for a T-shirt with a cool design isn’t a good look, this is a thrift-store not a consignment store, don’t get it confused buddy.

DO NOT COME HERE , Rip off scum bags over price and take advantage of hard working people, charging 60$ for sneakers found in walmart for 20$ , very low, the curator here is just a bad person, and rhe manager is to , greed. Stores a mess, employees suck they dont do anything but stand around and they sell fake items under the glass !!! DO NOT COME HERE go to red white and blue in paterson, and american thrift in paterson.

I came here bright and early for a job interview. Only to find 15 other applicants waiting for an interview as well. Okay no problem. We all had to read the whole entire employee handbook before we could even fill out an application. Then once done we fill out an application and wait to be interviewed. Interview was for 10am and I waited so gracefully and humbly for my turn to interview. I did my interview at 12:40pm it went pretty well if I may say so myself. I’m disappointed that I stood in a line for an interview, for 2 hours just to get turned down. I am highly qualified and was told that I was a good fit just to not get a call back. I was patient and respectful. Moral of my review is to say that I think their interview process is HORRIBLE ! They waste people times and was super unorganized. Didn’t even have enough applications for the people selected to interview. Like how unorganized can one be?? The whole process was a mess to be honest but I saw it through because I am not a quitter.

This store used to be great. Now the prices are out of control and the customer service is aggressively bad. At the self checkout area there are a bunch of employees milling around doing absolutely nothing while they watch you check yourself out. Then you have to go to a separate zone to get the sensors taken off your items. And then someone at the door wants to check your receipt again! The prices are also totally insane. Mall brand jeans for $50?? And stuff with the original tags on them will be marked up like crazy as if the items aren’t musty like everything else in a thrift store.

The last time I was there, I was stopped at the checkout by an employee. They called the store manager over, who told me that the furniture I was trying to buy was priced wrong. He claimed that it was $50 (seriously? for a used nightstand?) instead of the $19.99 sticker. He claimed that he was the one who priced it the day beforehand, which was a complete lie because I had seen it sitting out on the floor two weeks before I decided to buy it. Apparently, this is a reoccurring scam for this manager to pull based on all the recent reviews. Not to mention, the prices are ridiculous. I found a pair of pajama bottoms that are going for the same price that I paid for them *as a set* at Walmart 5 years ago. The staff is rude and unprofessional as well. This used to be a nice place to shop, but it's gone downhill in the last few months, and I can see why.

If all the myunique locations in NJ, this one is the most overpriced. The person in charge of pricing the clothing here is on another planet. If I wanted to pay $60 for a T-shirt with brown stains and holes in it, I would shop on Depop. Everything I pick up immediately gets put back on the rack when I see the price tag. They have made it into a consignment shop experience and ruined this myunique. I will not be returning.

Years ago, this place used to be great. Now it's a joke. Pricing is clearly made using ebay asking prices as a standard, manager guy in plain clothes is rude to a bizarre degree, and wait times for someone to help at the counter are abysmal. The only reason this isn't a 1 star is because the people that work on the floor restocking and cleaning are friendly and patient even though they're working hard, and because the door man is always friendly and welcoming.

Skinny Manager in “good day to be buff shirt” racially profiled me and my friends accusing us of stealing while we were checking out, taking my friends wallet from his hands while forcibly bringing him to a back room with no cameras. They then charged him of everything in his cart and banned him from the store leaving him practically empty handed walking out, threatening to call the cops if we didn’t leave. Totally unprofessional, do not recommend shopping here

I’ve never had a problem with this place before , I have a small child and I was told I have to throw his beverage out for the first time in many that I’ve been there, so ok I throw it out. I come back in the store and now I’m told I have to check in my personal bag , I’ve come in there with a book bag so many times and I’ve never been harassed the way I was that day. All they say is hey I don’t make the rules. Not sure what’s happening there but the people I encountered were very rude and I had my kid with me. Never again I tell you that!

Apparently this place attacks and picks on senior citizens. I saw a security guard harass a senior today and trest her like a criminal claiming he's been watching her, instead of helping her. She didn't run anywhere or do anything. The woman just didn't realize she didn't scan an item and the guy could have helped her instead of attacking her. He's nasty and needs to be fired.

Terrible management. As soon as I arrived at the store the “owner” was already having issues with other customers. After awhile I was walking and decided to take my sweatshirt off and the “owner” proceeded to yelled at me and telling me he was going to kick me out of the store then when I started walking back to my friend he told me to leave. This guy clearly has anger issues and he could lead to problems.
