This
is
a
beautiful,
authentic,
living
history
Festival.
It
is
authentic
to
the
1812
period.
There
are
many
Indians,
British
soldiers
and
American
troops
all
appropriately
dressed.
Vendors
have
a
wide
variety
of
food,
including
beans
and
cornbread,
steak
sandwiches,
pork
chops,
chicken
and
noodles,
fried
meat
and
fruit
pies.
There
are
vendors
that
sell
period-appropriate
clothing,
wares,
games
and
wooden
toys.
The
re-enactors
are
always
willing
to
demonstrate
and
explain
what
they
are
doing.
There
are
blacksmiths,
musicians,
artists,
and
of
course,
the
soldiers.
The
clothing
is
fascinating.
It's
fun
to
see
the
difference
in
what
people
wear.
A
lot
of
the
public
that
just
comes
for
the
day
dresses
up
also.
There
are
two
battle
reenactments
each
day
and
a
flag-raising
every
morning.
Softshell
Turtle
is
an
Indian
storyteller.
He's
definitely
one
thing
you
want
to
see.
1812
is
definitely
worth
the
trip.
There
is
something
for
everyone.
