I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at a hostel run by a husband and wife team, and I must say, it was an absolute nightmare. I feel compelled to share my experience to save fellow travelers from a similar ordeal. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the hosts were more interested in squeezing every last penny out of their guests than providing a welcoming and hospitable environment. Every service, from basic amenities to extras, came with a price tag, and they didn't hesitate to nickel and dime their guests for everything. This extreme money-minded approach created a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere right from the start. However, the most distressing part of my stay was the blatant racism displayed by the hosts. They would make derogatory comments in their own language when they thought guests couldn't understand them. It was deeply unsettling to witness such overt racism, mainly towards Indians and it left a sour taste in my mouth throughout my stay. This behavior is not only offensive but completely unacceptable for anyone in the hospitality industry. I cannot stress enough how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt during my time at this hostel. It is clear that the hosts prioritize their financial gain above all else and have no qualms about expressing racist views. I strongly urge fellow backpackers and travelers to avoid this place like the plague. There are countless other welcoming and friendly hostels out there that will provide a much more enjoyable and respectful experience. Don't waste your time or money here.

The owner has no sense of privacy brought in a construction guy in the morning to look at the colour of the walls in my room! In addition to that she said she booked my room for a week as I mentioned that I would be staying for a week but didn’t ask her to book it for a week and she didn’t mention about no cancellation policy so obviously she overcharged me for a room which had no attached bathroom! Beware for all the people checking in there are other far better options in the area than this shady scam hotel! Very disappointed!

I have my best experience at Sara's Backpackers hotel. You can get good rooms at cheap prices. Its safe for couples as well. The food is nice there and the service from hotel owner is awesome. You can get family environment there. For those who have their own vehicle its best as its a bit far from main road. It takes 15-20 minutes walking distance from the gongabu buspark ring road. Overall its my favourite place to spend some good moment with my love and also to get some me time.

I have stayed at dozen of hotels . This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. The homey vibes you get from the charming pair of Mr Sudan and Mrs Sara make this location even more special. This establishment understands how to please its customers. Always in a pleasant mood. The cuisine is reasonably priced, consistently tasty, and well-kept.

Overcharged me while in the system it shows only 6 to 7 hundred max but they almost charged double and after mentioning in booking it says low they said they have those rooms but all occupied but while on chatting they said they have rooms available don't no what's going on. On additional they gave room without hot water no TV no fan haa haa only empty room even no soaps

I had a very good stay at Sarah and Sudan's Hotel. Thank you very much for your help organising my Bus to Pokhara ! Don't hesitate to talk to them they are very friendly and will help you ! They have a very cute son (5 yo.) with whom you might catch up some Nepali since he is constantly switching between English and Nepali ! If you want to eat there they will serve you breakfast : eggs with Nepali bread and some cooked vegetables (250 NPR) same for dinner they made me Dal baht and even taught me how they eat it, yeah because there is a way to eat Dal baht :)

Such a nice hostel! Sara was very kind and willing to help with everything. The only bad side I can think of is that the hostel is a bit far from the Thamel and the centre. But if you don't mind walking around it's actually nice to be away from all that caos. It's a nice neighborhood and there are really good local restaurants in the area. Totally recommend it!

The Place is very awesome and have amazing view from the top I have been visited for the First time in Kathmandu. The Staff are very Friendly and Cooperative especially(Didi). The property is Price worth and Comfortable and Safe also.

This was the best stay I have had on my travels, clean rooms, nice shower, but the golden jewel here is the people, the family who own it are the most accomodating and caring people I have ever met. With one short conversation you will learn their passion for languages, they will feed you until you can eat no more and they won't ask for a dime extra for the meal. The nightly cost is so low but the experience is of the highest quality they are truly beautiful people and to make it better they have a jaw dropping roof top view for you to enjoy. I can't recommend this highly enough! Thank you Sara and Sudan, I will definitely be back.

Just 15 away from the ring road on foot (Gongabu). I stayed at the place from 14th March to late August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and Lockdowns. It's a family-run business, the owner and his wife is friendly. The location is good and not as busy as Thamel, with good restaurants and shops close by.

I'm very sorry to say that I had a very bad experience here. They txt me personally asking me to pay rs900 . I'm freekin confused how come they ask me to pay . The unreasonable price. The hostel looks like very cheap but actually it's more expensive then others.
