Had lunch. Very nice ambience. The staff are very polite and friendly and bubbly. Ordered the 3 German sausage and German meat lovers pizza amd fish and chips. Delicious and very large portions too. Loved the chips. I never had like the mustard seed and sauce like this before. Sat out side in the elevated area overlooking the main street in the township and heaters are available. There are seating available in the pavement too. Of course had the famous Weihenstephan beer too.

Very friendly staff. The scones are extremely delicious. The cream served with the scones is extremely fresh and silky. Great to see they use local jams from the Beerenberg Farm just up the road. Will definitely return for another coffee and scones. On the other hand, the main menu looks awesome as well..... Watch this space

The food is absolutely amazing and it was very delicious. There were a lot of people there and we had to wait for approximately one hour. I don’t go there very often but I am guessing that there might be less people on a regular weekend compared to a public holiday? But yes definitely recommend going!

Great place to relax and enjoy food.. we visited this location on hottest day in summers and place was busy. Staff was accommodating and made few adjustments with us due to kids. Food was in great portion. And taste was delicious.

Arrived at lunch time and there was a long queue at the ordering station. However they were very efficient and knowledgeable and our orders and quanties quickly sorted out. However be prepared for a long wait for the food but it will be worth the wait. The sausages and beers were great. Toilets were reasonably clean considering the volume of traffic. A great place for lunch and will definitely come back.

The Haus is our favourite restaurant in Hahndorf and chose to celebrate the New Year there. They never disappoint, especially with their wonderful Apple Strudel. Highly recommend, not only for the food but also the great service. Definitely will continue to return..thank you for a beautiful evening.

Had a lovely brunch in the heart of Hahndorf. What a great find. Service was a bit on the slow side which reduced my overall rating to 4 stars. On a side note. I commented to the manager on how good the food photography was and the value of it promoting the food, which lead to a delightful chat. She was so lovely.

We went to The Haus restaurant for lunch. When we arrived we were greeted by a staff member at the steps. She was friendly and welcoming. As we entered the main dining area, we were again greeted by another friendly and helpful staff member. We chose the duo of wursts and the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Both main meals were delivered hot and were delicious. For dessert we shared a serve of apple strudel cake. At the time of our visit it was not very busy. Service was excellent, atmosphere was quite pleasant (the background music may have been a tad loud), and the food was of a high standard. A great place for a value for money meal and top level service.

Okay so the first thing that stood out immediately was the service. The service was on point, staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu had a lot of variety and there wasn't much of wait for the food during lunch time. Surprisingly, as the place was packed! Great food and atmosphere.

Awesome food, great atmosphere to come with friends with family to have a few German beers and meals. If you visit this place, you have to get the platter with the German pork knuckle. It's a must-have. Otherwise, you will regret it. Chips are well cooked and compliment the meal well. Enjoy it with 3 litres of beer.

We went here for my son's 13th bday and we are incredibly amaze with the quality of food (10 star) the excellent service (10 star) and the ambiance (10 star) of the place. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wanted to have a nice decent meal in Handorf. A must-go-to place when you are visiting the town. We had a fantastic experience and we will be back again.

Fantastic German food and great service. Had the baked Brie and 5 star German sausage platter. Platter came with the best gravy I’ve ever had and delicious mustard and potato mash. Very filling and good value for money. Recommend trying the schnapps tasting paddle too. Great service even though they were busy.

We received perfect service from Josh and his workmates. We were late to our booking time but were still well arranged. Phone was answered in a timely manner and the late request was accepted. The table was booked meeting our request. Wine service was good. Corkage price is reasonable. We were reminded if we need sharing bowls, if we want the food come together, etc. Food service was fast, and food quality was good. Better table service than the neighbourhood. Multiple payments request was accepted. Very nice and friendly. Will sure come again.

Mmmmmm I have never had such a yummm Schnitzel and gravy combination. First of all, an amazing location, must visit with a big group or family or friends, must order share snack plate that has lamb ribs, pork knuckle, Schnitzel and pork/ chicken sausages. Beers are amazing, wine and spirits, cocktails, you name it, they have it. The desert was unbeatable, I can't wait to go there again. I am already missing the location. Please do visit next time you are in SA, Adelaide, Handhorf. Ashish

Very formal and retro look space! Warm and sound. Staff was very lovely and professional, food range is 5/5. Food quality is 5/5 and coffee was good too!

Very very special. We had the most amazing weather to experience the alfresco area in the magic of autumn colours. The service was top notch and the food timely considering it was very busy and it was very good. The lamb shanks & pork hock did not disappoint and good idea to consider a take away. The Venue Manager was so so friendly with my elderly dad who has accessible issues - I really personally appreciated the attention he received as he is always up for a good yarn. Thank you.

I only had takeaway as I had to dash off to work, but in the short time of ordering and receiving my food, I've experienced great hospitality from the team, and even better, my food was delicious!! Highly recommend for anyone who wants some good food and excellent service. PS It was vegetarian friendly too - I'm veg.

The Food: pleasant but forgettable. We came for the Schweinshaxe but while the skin was crispy, the meat was dry. The slow braised pork hock was deliciously moist & tender. The Trio of Wurst was flavourful with springy bite, the Vietnamese salad was okay. The Good: friendly waiters, lovely ambience, attractive restaurant, tables spaced far apart. The Bad: when paying the bill, I was asked (by the head waiter or manager, I think) to wait in line at the Orders counter, at the end of a long queue of customers waiting to order. This is unacceptable and spoilt what would have been a very pleasant lunch.

The restaurant is on the main street of the beautiful Hahndorf. We did not have bookings but the staff sorted everything very nicely. You have different options for seating; outside, inside and outside at the back yard. Three different menus were a but confusing. Good choices of drinks and very nice, friendly and professional staff. The service was good too. The best item of the order was the garlic bread. The steak was bland and a bit tough. The burger sauce was a bit too sweet and the patty tasted like the store-bought burgers! All & all the food is ok but very average.

My family and I came here on a weekday for lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and she made sure that we were comfortable. Another male staff was flustered as he seemed like he was very nervous that more customers were coming in and he kept forgetting to bring us extra plates, cutleries, and our baby high chair. The food was average for the price. Seems like more of a tourist destination where they can charge a premium price. My salmon was probably no more than 120g? Very expensive. Beef schnitzel was not impressive and a bit dry. Arancini balls did not hit the spot; very mild/lacking flavour. Overall, it was okay, but not a restaurant that I would be excited to recommend to other visitors.

What a great place to eat. The staff were fantastic and really friendly. The meals are generously sized and absolutely delicious. The dessert options were plentiful and it was difficult to decide what to have because it was all great. They have lots of German foods which I really loved. I loved the place so much that I ended up having dinner here a couple of times and also breakfast on one of the days I was in Hahndorf. The food really was excellent and the staff helped make the experience enjoyable. I can't wait to come back! Thank you to all the staff at The Haus Restaurant.

Absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was delicious. We went tonight for my partners birthday and had the best time, special shout out to Georgina who's service was amazing all night and even made us a custom cocktail! We will be back ASAP, thank you!

Honestly such a nice place! The food was amazing! Good serving sizes and affordable! The staff was very friendly. One staff member in particular Georgina was extremely helpful and polite, she made us feel welcome and was patient with us. Friendly staff, delicious food and great ambience. I had the chicken parmigiana (on special every Tuesday!) And it was great. You can sit inside or outside, we had no worries with getting a table plus with a pram.

The range of food is substantial. The servings of food is huge. The selection of drinks is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed when eating here. It's not too far out of Adelaide.

We visited for both Lunch & Dinner on the same day and we also stayed at their accommodations across the road. Very convinient. The food is a little bit pricey especially the germany beer tester was in very small glass and also not even filled up to full. But overall, happy with food & friendly services.

We were in search of a taste of Germany, and this place delivered just that. We ordered the 'Taste of Bavaria' sharing plate, which featured four sausages, a pork chop, and a pork hock. To enhance our meal, we included a crispy skin hock replacement. The pork chop was beautifully cooked and delicious. However, the pork hock, while tasty, had been deep-fried for a bit too long, resulting in slightly dry meat. I'd recommend this place if you're in Hahndorf and eager to savor German dishes.

The food was nice, staff attentive. Whist it is a German Restaurant it lacked German music and German atmosphere. Melbourne German restaurants have a much better look, feel and atmosphere. But, we did enjoy our meals. Next time I'll try a different restaurant in Hahndorf.

We had a splendid lunch at The Haus Restaurant. Definitely recommend the Crispy Pork Hock for the main and Apple Strudel/Brownies for dessert. The floor staffs are friendly, especially Caitlyn, who was very sweet and helpful. Service was quick as well :3 Overall wonderful experience

I love this place. Food is great, the view is amazing! I will make it a point to come here every time I visit Adelaide. The interior has been upgraded since my last visit in 2019. It’s indeed very cosy and lovely little restaurant

Found a car park spot right in front of the Haus. Guess it was meant to be. Had a late lunch of braised pork knuckle and sausages with mash. Found the braised pork a little too salty, but if you have it with the onion gravy that is served with the bangers and mash, it was more balanced. The bangers and mash were nice. The sausages tasty, mash creamy. The onion gravy/jam is the highlight. One thing, the portions are large. The braised knuckle can feed 2 persons comfortably. Service was great, but they weren't busy when we went. I do recommend this place.

Staff kindly set up a table for us despite us not having a booking on a busy night. We ordered schnitzels with salad and chips. The portions were huge but we ate everything on the plate as it was so delicious (the chips are hiding under the schnitzel in the photo). Good selection of wines and also good variety on the menu. All the waiters were friendly and made us feel welcome.

We spent our lunch in Hahndorf at The Haus. The host was very welcoming and lovely along with the rest of the staff. Seen in the picture below is the steak sandwich from the specials of today. The brisket was beautiful. Definitely recommend if in Hahndorf.

Fantastic. Best place to dine in Hahndorf. The service staff excellent, management excellent, food was filling. Ordered the ham hock, WOW. Crispy top and tons of meat. Succulent and delicious. I actually almost finished it if it wasn’t for the cheesy garlic bread which was just ok. The ambiance was warm, live, comfortable and not to noisy. I will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful pancake stack, very flavourful with light, fluffy pancakes. Chicken toastie was very nice. Ice coffee was refreshing. A touch pricey.

Good vibes , liked the Haus wine …but generally the restaurant is a bit overrated. It was a cold ,night they told us only outside tables available although the inside tables were completely free all the night.I went to the bathroom to wash my hands it was dirty and mess in rubbish in the basin.I could buy similar sausage for $2 in IKEA not $22 😬🤨🙃fish was tasteless 😒 I don’t think I like to comeback here.

We had our wedding here 4 years ago and the event planner was awesome! Nothing was too much trouble. Everything went off without a hitch. Also had breakfast and then wings later the same day recently. Everything was really well presented and yummy. I didn't think the wings were crispy enough, but that's just my preference. My husband and mum loved them.

Our first time at a German restaurant, loved the food. The portions are very big, head there with a big empty stomach. Meat was cooked well, if you want it well done, let them know. Smashed potatoes are a must! The smoothest and most creamy-est paste. It was the best!

Friendly, attentive staff. Good food and reasonable wait time for the food to arrive. We didn't go hungry that's good sure!

Food was delicious. Mains and dessert 10 out of 10. We were served by a few different staff members and all were very friendly. Inside was decorated nicely and kept cozy and warm with gas fire going. Would definitely recommend. Menu contains German and non German options to keep everyone happy.

The atmosphere was really lovely here and the food was really nice as well. Make sure you stop by here if you are in Hahndorf, and book a table in advance if you have many people.

Yummy food, good environment. You can sit indoors or outdoors. I will definitely drink a beer when I am enjoying the German pork knuckle If I don’t have to drive after the meal. The service is also good. Waiters are very helpful but just some waiters were not so welcoming when we sincerely said thanks they didn't respond anything and then turned and walked away (several times). Pretty cool, isn't it? In addition, the waiting time after ordering was a bit long (almost half an hour). However, these do not affect me to give The Haus a five-star review.
