One of the best museums I visited. Museum is all about to tell you a story of the people and theirs further destiny, how life have changed. There is also decent history load what life looked like in Poland back than. Museum is free of charge each Wednesday, in addition provides almost free development classes for infants and children with music, games and interaction parent - child. You can get there with public busses or by car - parking is in front of the museum.

Well balanced exhibition which gives a wide picture of motives and reasons of emigration. I think it is advisable to pay for a guide who will take us around and explain some of the Polish issues of emigration which migjt not be that obvious to foreign visitors. This place is definitely worth visiting.

Very interesting, you will definitely learn something new here. The videos at the beginning with immigrants' stories are fascinating and show the complexity of leaving one's home. There is also a nice view of the port, and a fun photo-op dressed up as a twenties ship passenger that you should take if you have the chance.

(Translated by Google) I have mixed feelings. The entrance is unsatisfactory, the mirror-silver something on the entrance looks cheesy and does not announce anything interesting, but inside, already from the entrance, a pleasant surprise, the exhibition is prepared 10 at 10. Unfortunately, it does not seem that somehow sad there. I had no pleasure in watching all of this, even though it was presented in a very interesting way. (Original) Mam mieszane uczucia.

A very interesting exhibition on Polish emigration, but also covering emigration in general. It also has a lot of history on Poland covering its creation and through WW1, WW2 and the creation of the modern Polish state. Nice temp exhibition on biodiversity as a bonus. All for €2.30, good value.

A fascinating, well-equipped and immersive museum! It transported me in time and space. I don't usually enjoy long walks around museums, but in this case I just couldn't get enough because it was so interesting and so complete. Spent about 2.5 hours there -- I feel like the optimal time would be 3 hours or more. The restaurant wasn't functional at the time we visited (July 2021), which left us quite far from other places that serve food.

Very well kept museum with more than plenty of information on decades of immigration related history of Poland and its citizens - the displays are fun, interactive and well thought of.. as I have visited during the weekday in the lunch hours the place was practically all exclusive to myself and so Ive managed to take my time and truly enjoy the experience. For wholesome and information rich time be prepared to read a lot, there is also a lovely long wooden terrace, a cafe and a restaurant within the complex

Thankfully we live in a 21st century where you may travel all around the world and explore such museums. Nowadays, you may get round ticket almost everywhere while back in 19-20 century people had to take really seriously to start their life from new chapter, and most of the time to sell everything they had, even borrow money to get overseas. Desperate to hear that some of them couldn’t reach the dream land due to health, poor conditions on a deck on so on. Roughly 150-200 years ago.

Go on a ride with Polish farmers to Big Apple, an no, Galicia is not in Spain. They sailed from Bremen because at that time Gdynia was no port yet. No problem, many others took off from that very building later on

Great place for learning more about the Polish history from old ages, up to modern ages. I discovered a lot , and learned a lot about less known Polish / Central European people migrations waves. Either through Europe or the World. I highly recommend it. Explanations are very good and well balanced between details with keeping you interested and not getting you bothered. Each historical step is well documented !

It's definitely a must when visiting Gdansk. The amount of information in this museum deserves at least a full day, and you will still have parts that you will hardly cover. There is just so much to explore. I look forward to coming back one day.

We here not knowing what or anything to expect. You drive through a rather industrial port setting to get this museum. We went in, audio guide is a better experience although I found I was reading a lot more info from the exhibits. The whole museum is bi-lingual (English and Polish) and covers a whole swathe of Polish history and movement of people/boarders but mostly focussing on the 19th and 20th centuries. This is because of the seismic changes in socio-economic due to the Industrial Revolution and the empires controlling Poland then. All in all. A brilliant museum.

Due to Poland’s complicated and often tragic history, Poles are the nation of emigrants and refugees. It’s a fact often disregarded by current Polish government, treating the refugees of these days like intruders to say the least. This museum is as much a prescription to treat xenophobia as a good history lesson, both for Poles and foreigners. Modern way of presenting this heavy subject prevents boredom, placing Gdynia’s museum on the same „must-see” map as Warsaw’s Uprising Museum and Polin. If you don’t have a car, take a 133 bus from the main railway station in Gdynia.

(Translated by Google) My memories of the museum of emigration are very positive, it may not be as impressive as the museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, but I think that it is much better organized, arranged for such a small space, it shows in an interesting way the emigration of Poles for a better life, escaping from an uncertain situation in Poland, before the persecution or the lack of prospects for a good life, feel the living spirit of those times, when the Batory ship set off from the Sea Station to America.

(Translated by Google) The museum is very well prepared, despite the closure of some exhibits, due to the pandemic, there is definitely something to see. Exactly - too much for me. In places where movies and music are playing at the same time, you have to read something, watch something - the museum seems to be overloaded. It is a lot of content to be assimilated, which at the end was already a bit weary. However, if someone is interested in history, he can definitely learn a lot of interesting facts here. There are some interactive elements, the whole is technically at a high level. The visit is quite long - it took me more than 1.5 hours.

(Translated by Google) You must see you during your visit to Pomerania. The idea of creating a museum of emigration in the former sea station is a very good and interesting idea in Gdynia. The leading topic has been widely presented in the context of the last few centuries, individual stories and threads of Poles' emigration to various parts of the world are interesting. When visiting other Polish narrative museums, you can see great similarities between the solutions and the presentation of multimedia exhibitions, I have the impression that one company creates custom-made exhibitions for all new museums in different cities, and if they are modern, attractive for the first few years, what is the fate of this type museums in 10, 20 years?

Impressive, well-organised museum that nicely skims over Polish history being the background for emigration. I was surprised how large and profound was the main exhibition. I'd maybe argue there's actually too much content for one to consume within a single visit, but it's engaging and interesting. Well done! Personnel was also very helpful and nice, and it's worth going to the cafe/resto there too

Interactive exhibition for those who is interested in emigration waves in Europe. I would say rather for adults than kids.

In-depth exhibition with a multitude of historical facts presented through personal histories, exhibits of historical objects and descriptions of specific phases in Polish emigration, events that caused emigration, statistics for emigration and the countries that Polish people immigrated to.

Very interesting museum telling the history of emigrants from Poland. Two hours was not enough too read all the stories.

Whereas Ellis Island, NYC (USA) shows immigration into America, this unique museum is devoted to the fleeing or expulsion and departures of Poles around the world. Fascinating place

Not worth getting the audio guide: you can read almost everything and what is provided only through the guide isn't that mind-bending. Definitely an interesting place to visit.

This museum was a genuinely pleasant surprise for me, and I kind of visited it by accident, but I'm so glad I did. It contains an extremely well-researched permanent exhibition which is laid out and curated in a linear 'narrative' which really adds to the experience. The curators and researchers have also done a brilliant job in placing the history of Polish emigration within its wider historical context, including the consequences of the partitions of Poland and the wider European emigration to North and South America in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition is extremely long and comprehensive though, so I would set aside at least 3 hours to see everything - possibly 4 hours if you like to go at a steady pace and take everything in. Everything is written in English as well as Polish, and I personally didn't feel the need to use an audio guide either as there was so much to read and see. Thoroughly recommend.

An absolute must do in Gdynia Such an amazing museum, very interactive, with such an amount of relevant information. Such a way to immerse ourselves in the Polish history and its wars. We learnt so much, and 3 hours were not enough for us. Highly recommended.

Really interesting interactive museum on the history of emigration of Poles. The main exhibition is very well documented with multimedia and reconstructions of life circumstances, vessels and communication. The museum has a coffee shop and store. The only downside is that it's located in the harbour, well outside of the main centre of Gdynia, but definitely worth a visit!

The exhibition was huge, and migration is essentially just like any other human history, I was very moved by the exhibition, which is also very interactive. I agree with other reviewers that you should spend 3-4 hours at this museum, it was not very busy even on a weekend. However, I do not recommend the audio guide, most of the information was already displayed, it was just a waste of money to buy it.
