It was free on the day I went but would have happily paid the entrance fee. Unfortunately I was a little rushed for time but an hour or so allowed me to take in enough. Ideally 2 hours I’d estimate.

History of Gdynia is very short in comparison with other Polish cities because Gdynia was founded during the interwar period. This museum is the best place to explore this fascinating history which is really interesting and totally different from other cities in Poland. If you visit Gdynia to see local modernistic architecture, it's recommended to previously come to the museum and get some knowledge about it.

Don't expect anything crazy, but the history of the city is presented pretty good here
