👍👍 Excellent museum in quite and peaceful Oliwa park. Building itself is so beautiful, but the exhibitions were great too.

What a magnificent treasure this building is! And what delights await the visitor who stumbles across it, while out wandering around the park! I was lucky enough to see a rather unusual assortment of art pieces here, although the interior of this beautiful old house was worth the price of entry alone.

Very small, very unprofessional staff. Followed us around like we were criminals - meant we could not experience the art exhibition in peace. Would not recommend

It really depends what is on show. When I was there, they had a great modern art exhibition of, it seemed, British artists on the ground floor, while upstairs was Polish art. I very much preferred the British art, and no, there is absolutely no bias on my part! Go on Fridays and get in for free!

After many long months of being closed for renovations it was finally a pleasure to visit this museum, in the Rococo former Cistercian Abbot's Palace of Oliwa Cathedral, for it's inaugural post-reno exhibition: a survey of paintings by young Polish artists. The earliest part of the palace was built in the 15th century and added to later. It was destroyed in 1945 (it had been used as an arms depot) and rebuilt in 1965. The galleries for temporary exhibitions occupy two floors in the main body of the palace and one of the wings. Though most of the grand windows have their blinds drawn, there's a lot of natural light and an atmosphere of spacious airiness with the tall ceilings and white walls, with subtle hints of its rococo past in modest stucco decorations and a few chandeliers. I visited on a sunny Spring afternoon and had a good view of the gardens on both sides from two of the upstairs rooms where the blinds aren't drawn. It is certainly worth a visit.

Arrived all the way from Gdansk to be met by a sign in the window that the museum is closed between Oct14-Dec7.

1 star because on your website say that you are open until 6 pm and not 5 pm.

Hidden treasure! I would recommend to spend a few hours here. Recharge in the beautiful park, get inspired in the art museum, and dine fine food at Abbot´s Palace.
