(Translated by Google) I don't often meet such peace and harmony of the spirit, especially when I'm in this type of place. Here I experienced special moments and I was positively surprised by the silence in the cloisters, watching beautiful, sacred sculptures, souvenirs of Gdańsk bishops and liturgical objects. The refectory and numerous paintings look great.

Olive (1186) Cistercian monastery (1186-1831) Diocesan (Archbishop's) Museum (11/16/1975) The grand opening of the Diocesan (Archbishop's) Museum took place on November 16, 1975, on the anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of Gdansk. The museum is located inside a former Cistercian monastery from 1186-1831, which has been used by the Gdańsk Theological Seminary since 1957. The historical part of the monastery is accessible to visitors; it represents exhibits from the late 13th-15th centuries, previously completely closed to view. The museum displays collections of sacred art: paintings, sculptures and jewelry in the former refectory and the Oliva Hall. After carrying out restoration work in the interiors of the historical monastery in 1993-1999, the museum restored its original artistic and material values. The house of the head of the diocese (currently the sacristy of the cathedral), the refectory, the Olive Hall and the Chapel of St. Mary are a complex of sacred architecture with great values for the entire scientific world. It is planned to open a former Cistercian chapel with surviving fragments of late 13th-century architecture.
