We went to grand hotel for a few drinks after visiting the pier. At first the service seemed good, but after we received the menu, we had to wait 45 minutes (just for someone to take our order). When we didn't receive any, we had to ask the bar to take our order. They took the order but never brought the drinks. Really disappointing for a 5 star hotel

The is the best hotel in Sopot which is really worthwhile to see it. The history of this hotel has been over 100 years, which is also of great meaning. The staffs here are quite friendly and passionate. I will stay here whenever I come to Gdańsk again.

Truely 5* experience from the second you step into this hotel - yes rooms are a bit dated but it does fit the 'vibe' of this hotel. 5* doesn't necessarily mean 5* service and this place is way above World Class type of service which sadly is often difficult to find in Europe. From the reception desk to the barmaid and house keeping, really top notch and above expectations. Views from the room are outstanding and the room itself is very spacious. Obviously this place isn’t cheap but it is worth the money and paying a bit extra If staying in Sopot. Thank you, dziękuje bardzo całej obsłudze i do zobaczenia!

This has been a very disappointing experience. We booked this hotel for our honeymoon, a luxury room with sea view, and were left down by the quality of our room. The AC didn't work properly, even at the lowest temperature the room wasn't cold. The bathroom had a shower that had no curtains, which made a mess in the whole bahtroom every time we use it, we had to request room service after every time we shower. The TV is in the middle of the room , taking a lot of space, hard to understand this design. The hotel outside is beautiful, the staff is great, the bar is pretty. The room we were given is the most disappointing room I have been given in a hotel, for the price we pay, we deserved better. When we talked to reception about a new room, we were told you were all booked out. We pretty much were stuck with the room you assigned to us, which was of pretty bad quality. Our honeymoon in your hotel unfortunately didn't make us happy.

I am absolutely in Love with this place! The hotel is in a top location near the beach. Some of the rooms and apartments have a sea view, which is a must if you plan to guest the hotel. The hotel is an extremely pleasant place to be on your vacation, I would be happy to be here in the winter as well .. :) Very friendly and professionally educated staff, clean rooms, lovely fragranced corridors, spa services... everything is top-notch. I could continue talking about it, but you have to come and see it in person. Thank you Sofitel, you made my dream vacation come true! xoxo, Leodor

Very Nice Seaside Hotel Resort SPA Restaurants. Probably one of the best at Baltic Seaside in EU. Rooms spacious and comfortable, SPA average size, but very nice, restaurants with gourmet food and drinks. And the best part it's area and views at Sea with golden sand beaches. We are not first time here, and will visit again later. Thanks, Robertas V. P. CEO, EcoWR Ltd

This was our last night in Poland of our travels through this lovely country so a night here just finished our holiday lovely and on a high. Would highly recommend this beautiful luxury hotel for a treat or special occasion. Truly breathtaking views and a great vibe and in walking distance to excellent bars and restaurants.

Overall an average experience. We had planned to spend more time at the hotel during our five-nights stay but then decided against it because it simply was not up to the standards we expected. Plus: the hotel has a great location, just by the beach. The private beach area is well-attended and clean. We liked the historic ambience, even though the hotel doesn't draw on it. Staff was generally friendly if somewhat disinterested. The spa area is small and ok if there are not too many people. Some of it appeared to have been renovated recently. Negative: the hotel feels dated, with tired furnishings, worn carpets and a somewhat gloomy atmosphere. Our room (310) was a corner room with an excellent view of the sea. However, the furniture looked as if it came from a mid-range hotel designed in the 1990s and was arranged in a non-sensical way that spoiled the room's location. For instance, the bed was in a dark corner, facing the wall with some cheap IKEA-esque art, rather than facing the window -- it would have been perfect to wake up with a view of the beach. At the end of the bed, and blocking the other window, was a sideboard with a big TV that had to be navigated when getting around the bed. Again, the furniture was worn and chipped in places - its design may have been just ok for a five-star hotel 20 years ago, when the furniture was new, but not now. The bathroom was big but again designed not with the guest in mind. There was no shower but a bathtub with a glass division that was too narrow -- when showering, the bathroom would often flood. The design (a garish yellow black tile arrangement) was dated. There were also moldy spots. Generally, the room did not feel clean - when we arrived, it was clear that it had not been cleaned properly -- there were cup rings and grime on the nightstands and the desk. When I complained to reception, I did not receive an apology. The cleaners who were sent up to fix the issue, were obviously not happy that we had complained and did only a quick clean-up. Generally, there was no interest in us as customers/guests. Reception staff was generally friendly but did not seem interested. When we checked out, I was asked whether we had liked our stay. When I said that it was just ok, I did not receive any further question. We used the in-house breakfast only once -- at 20 Euros/person it was overpriced. The coffee was really good but the buffet only middling. The a la carte food we ordered was just ok but did not compare favorably to any of the other restaurants we then explored. Overall: While we loved the location, the hotel was only average and certainly not up to the standards we have come to expect from other five-star hotels. We would not return unless there has been some major renovation. This should also include fixing the cluttered reception area and the design of the bar. The hotel has great potential that is simply not realized. Compare with other hotels from the same period that have been fixed up and truly are a Grand Hotel. Finally, the whole back of the hotel is practically a parking lot -- so not quite the "parkside" that is advertised.

If you want the best location in Sopot, there is no better place to stay at then Sofitel Grand Sopot. This is such an iconic and special hotel. Old times charm. Really Grand. With a magnificent garden and a private beach. We had a fantastic suite with a balcony and the best view of the Baltic sea. Breakfasts great with good variation and staff is super attentive. The beds have goose down mattress topers, so sleeping experience is fantastic, plus every night a goodnight tea is brought to the room. Dr Irena Eris Spa at the hotel is also great. Thank you Sofitel Grand Sopot for an unforgettable experience.

Piece of Sopot history, mute witness of historical events. Poor German ( Austrian ? ) painter with mustaches+ Charles de Gaulle+ Fidel Castro among its guests

As a member of the All Accor loyalty program, my experiences at various properties have sculpted my expectations towards excellence. The Sofitel Grand Hotel in Sopot, a legendary landmark, does not live up to its grandeur in several ways and leaves room for improvement in others. Positives: Prime Location: The hotel’s location is simply unbeatable, offering easy access to the best of Sopot. Nestled conveniently, it stands as a gateway to the city’s charms. Exemplary Staff: True to the Sofitel brand, the staff here are the epitome of politeness and attentiveness. Their care and attention to detail made my stay significantly more comfortable. Sleep Like Royalty: The beds at Sofitel Grand Sopot are a dream. Offering fantastic sleep comfort, they ensured I woke up refreshed every morning, ready to explore the city. Definitely Worth choosing a Seaview room Architectural Marvel: The hotel itself is a legendary landmark, a piece of history that adds a certain prestige to one’s stay. Its majestic facade is a sight to behold. Negatives: Ambiance Misses the Mark: The interior, though kept clean to a certain extend, lacks the coziness and elegance one might expect from such a storied hotel. The decor feels somewhat out of step with the building’s historic charm. Rooms Need a Touch-Up: While comfortable, the rooms are crying out for an upgrade. They don’t quite match the luxurious standard set by a five-star-property. Spa with Potential: The spa, boasting a stunning sea view, unfortunately falls short in modernity. A revamp here could transform it into a truly world-class relaxation spot. Rethink Public Spaces: The lounge and other public areas of the hotel are in dire need of a conceptual overhaul. They should echo the grandeur and sophistication of the hotel’s exterior and prime location. In conclusion, while the Sofitel Grand Hotel Sopot excels in location, service, and sleep quality, it is somewhat let down by its interior aspects. As a loyal Accor traveler, I see great potential in this property and hope to see it reach its full, undeniable potential in the near future. As they promised an update for quite a while in their replies to reviews. Now is the time to act, to bring this marvel back to it’s former glory when stars chose tostay there.

I couldn't leave Sopot without dropping a note to let you know what a wonderful stay we had at the Sofitel Grand Sopot. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, every experience was perfect - warm and inviting service, beautiful surroundings, wonderful location, a gorgeously appointed room that perfectly suited my son’s needs and impeccably delicious food. I especially would like to give a shout-out to the breakfast team lead by Daniel, who is a real Gem! His energy is phenomenal. He is such a wonderful person with great attention to guest satisfaction and details. Daniel was so kind during my visit to the Restaurant, upon learning that I was in Sopot to celebrate my birthday but would soon be leaving, he had a wonderful birthday surprise waiting for me 10 minutes later when I returned to my room--it was impressive! And so greatly appreciated. I also would like to say thank you to Krystna and Mikolaj who were helping my son around the buffet, they both made him feel very welcome. We also had a pleasure of being looked after by Krzysztof from the Reception, who was the kindest, most polite person we met during our stay. He is one of the kind. Thank you and kudos to you and your entire team!

Hotel staff and the restaurant is very professional. The hotel is very old and would need some renovations - especially the bathroom they also need to check the heating system. Our bathroom was warm like a sauna even though we did not have any heating on. The room was very warm as well especially during night time. The window was open. The element was off and the ac was on 15c but we were still warm and sweaty. Outside temperature at nighttime was between -2 - 5 Celsius. Even though we experienced some heat issues I will still give them 5 stars rating. Thanks to all the workers they are really professional and kind. Breakfast was top notch . Would love to comeback.

This historic impressive hotel - opened in 1927 - has a rare list of famous guests from Hitler to De Gaulle, Castro, Dietrich, Garbo, Putin.... the seaside room on upper floor are charming even if the furnitures are outdated. The well managed private beach is a plus. Finally the always available abondant staff will make your stay memorable.

Enough is enough. I'm not sure how this place has so many 5 star reviews... Rooms are old and small, breakfast service is terrible (bringing right amount of coffee was a problem), parking almost not existing and valet service forgot to give back my car key to the reception - simply took it home after work. And for what price? Come on! On the positive side - yes, the location is great and it's an iconic place for polish seaside. Been there once, it's not for me. Be smart, there are better options out there. (if that was a 3 or 4 star hotel, than i would be less harsh)

It's THE place to stay at in Sopot. Relaxing, breathing, seafront sounds, great quality restaurant, spa & pool. I had passed by the hotel while still a student few years ago, and promised myself to stay there once I'd have some more money. I just did it, totally worth it. I'll be back, but during summer next time. See you!

A.D 1927. It’s an architectural gem. Very posh. Very distinguish. Very luxury. Five-star Grand Hotel Sopot (current: Sofitel Grand Sopot) located on the seashore which is the charming part of Sopot town. Grand Hotel was, and still is the great witness to an interesting, and complicated history of the 20th century. He was waking up with the sunrise, and he was falling asleep with the sound of the sea waves. Acted as a supported character in several movies. He welcomed many distinguished guests like politicians, movie stars, singers, crowned heads and many, many ordinary holidaymakers. Unfortunately, I was not a hotel guest, but I admired his fabulous architecture in September 2020.

Im giving the hotel a 2 star. The second star is becouse pf its majestic exterior, location and beach area. Some of the workers were verry nice, but a few of the staff were realy unpolite and hostile. We traveled as a family with small kids and booked 2 rooms with breakfast on the same order, to make sure an issue with them splitting the rooms would not ocure. The adult room had to be changed due to us finding used chewing gum on the floor and bearded vultures crawling around. These creatures are some of the worst bugs you can bring back home and they are also verry hard to get rid of, so be aware if you visit this hotel. You dont want to bring these bugs back home. We noticed the staff and they changed our room. Bouth times the adult room and our kids room was on 2 different floors, something that was a bit hopeless with small children and a foreign country. We also had single beds instead og double beds, wich also was a disapointment when you book a double room. We liked the area, but will be without doubht be living in sheraton(next door) when we visit the next time. Tried to be fare with my rating and the majestic feeling the hotel gives from the outside is what pulls my review up a star. As a grand hotel, this did not in any way keep the same standard as other countrys we have vacated. We traveled with another family and our impression was verry simular. I usually dont write reviews for negative experiences, but all of us agreed that we should give this an honest feedback. Sopot as a place was nice and safe place to visit as a family.

😠 One of the worst campings I have ever been to. Yes, the spot is great( one and only andvantage) , but it is terribly crowded and chaotic. And when I say terribly crowded, it means that you can wake up with a tent 30 cm from your camper door, or a van, blocking your camper and they are still packing...
