A wonderful place. They gave us a really interesting tour of the production (handmade) and was lucky even able to see the caterpillars. Very beautiful and high-quality products. Absolutely recommended!

Sabahar has beautifully crafted textiles, in stunning colors, a variety of patterns and very high quality handiwork. We visited twice during our 3 week trip to Addis Ababa (as well as seeing their products at multiple markets) because we couldn't get enough of their towels, throws, scarves and blankets. We were fortunate to have a tour of the production facility when we visited, where we were warmly welcomed with fresh bread and got to see the silk caterpillars as well as meet all the talented craftspeople behind the products. Highly recommend visiting the shop and supporting this fair trade business! Their selection was truly unique from other local vendors.

I love this place so much. Beautiful textiles - blankets, towels, scarves, cushion covers, napkins, table cloths etc. if you’re in Addis it’s definitely worth a visit.

An oasis in Addis Ababa. Sabahar produces the most beautiful textiles in a very good quality. Most processes are carried out on site, but Sabahar ensures that the entire production is sustainable in an ecological as well as social sense. A tribute to good craftmansship. Everyone should visit and be reminded about the effort that goes into producing textile products that most takes for given. Show up and get a guided tour through all steps: spinning, dying, weaving, quality control and more you don't even think about. (I think there is a lunch break around noon, so check this if you plan to come around noon).

I visited Sabahar March 5 with an OAT group of American travelers. we had a wonderful 3 hours. Our Sabahar guide was Wintans who explains the evolution and functioning of the spinning, dying, weaving, finishing and edging of a vast array of cotton linen and silk fabrics. they've been a cooperative here for the last 25 years or so designing their new patterns guided by master weavers. Storks float over the gardens and workshops. I of course am now challenged to close my luggage, but there were so many good deals here. A lovely day with lovely people and awesome textiles.

One can have a look on how they prepare textiles with cotton and silk! There is also the shop and the area is surrounded by green! They let you take your time to look at their products, and the quality is very good.

Sabahar offers a wonderful range of beautiful handmade textiles that are sure to warm your heart. My favorites are the scarves and blankets; they are not only lovely but also make perfect gifts for loved ones or a special treat for yourself. In the workshop (it's the Google Maps pin), you can learn more about the production process. The shop is around the corner where you can take the finished products home. Additionally, there is a cozy corner featuring Afar products in the shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a place that should not be missed when visiting Addis.

Beautiful ethiopian textiles with the highest quality. They have a great diversity of products and colors (which are not common withing Ethiopia). They are a fair trade store so prices are a little high, but is totally worth it.
