I LOVED my visit to this pub. Visiting Nottingham for a gig and popped in after reading good reviews - glad I did. Lovely staff, my pizza was so delicious I had to contain myself. Nice and spacious inside, with some boardgames you can pick up and play if you fancy. Partner enjoyed some of the craft IPA. Nottingham castle is right outside too, as well as the Robin Hood statue. So if you are visiting, I recommend this place! :)

We go to this pub a lot and it’s always lovely. All the staff - including Heather, contrary to another recent review that reads like a very thinly veiled personal attack - have always been really friendly in our opinion. Always a pleasant evening and a good selection of beers that even keeps my husband happy! (Can really recommend the pizza too, and it’s 2 for 1 on Tuesdays)

Lovely location next to the castle. Went for a drink one night but had to sit outside as they had a stand up comedian. Was very cringy and loud. Went past to use the toilet and got dragged into a joke saying I'd ruined his routine. Laughed but for the wrong reason. I'm sure the pub is usually lovely.

Absolutely loved the dirty Mojitos and the fish and chips were delicious. We were served outside in the sunshine too Lovely and friendly staff. Great little find

Very friendly staff. Great location opposite Nottingham castle & robin hood statue, but close enough to city centre so you can get to by bus, tram & taxis. Didn't have food on this occasion.

Excellent pub. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the Sunday roast for lunch and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Spent £19 on a chicken roast and a soft drink which were good but the food took an hour and a half to arrive. The server was nice and kept assuring us it was coming but we were starving by the time it arrived. We still had to pay full price and we didn’t receive an apology for the wait time. Wont be back for a Sunday roast

Food was nice, pub is lovely. Service wasn’t the best, the staff were rude and ignored us, walked off, talked about us from behind the bar, and were not welcoming.

One of my favourite pubs in Nottingham. Great beer with lots of variety. The staff are really friendly. It’s a great atmosphere and nice and interesting decor. There was a live singer on Thursday evening and she was really good.

Really good vegan pizza!! We loved the selection of board games and books whilst waiting for food, and the staff were sweet.

Fantastic pub, was there when it was busy. We had booked a table which they very kindly got ready for us earlier than the time we booked. The food was great, good starter and great burgers. Would thoroughly recommend.

Only popped in for a drink to meet up with friends. However a very friendly member of staff Georgina recommended the food and mentioned a table available in the corner, so we stayed for most of the evening. Can recommend the Sunday roast here and you won’t be waiting ! No matter how busy they are, the staff service and food great!!! Thanks Georgina …keep up the good work

Lovely atmosphere. Table games available so as we started a game of Jenga, people at other tables started doing Connect 4 and Frustration. What a great evening!

Heather the barmaid is rude and aggressive. I have drunk the pub for a couple of years. The landlady Jas is wonderful along with the rest of the staff. Heather is arrogant and rude and believes she is above others. Drink in this pub when she is not about and all is great!

Lovely Sunday lunch. Very helpful & accommodating staff. Lots of tasty veggie/vegan options. Good range of ales & dog friendly (will def be back with mine!) Thanks chaps xx

This has to be one of Nottinghams better pubs. Even though it was showing the world cup with no sound (a bonus), and the music being played was background noise as opposed to thumping bass that you have to shout over. Great beer and comfortable surroundings. So good we went back on Sunday for a mulled wine and food. Will definitely visit again.

Great service and a good menu - lots of options but not too much to pick. Good and drinks came really fast, and the food was really nice. Ample seating outside.

Has a very good range of craft beers which are changed out on a regular basis, also on my last couple of visits they had gluten free ales on draught. Food is reasonable and they have offers on through the week, 2 for 1 pizza is my favourite.

Nice pub with good food from a limited menu which is not a bad thing. It was a bit noisy as the night progressed. Not a cheap place but cheerful service that was fast and efficient. Does not do desserts.

This is a nice modern pub near the Nottingham Castle. The barkeepers ate friendly and willing to help the best craft beer for you. You can also tast some beer before ordering. The pizza is surprising good and fresh. It was a wonderful evening

What's not to like. Hot day, cold beer, outdoor seating and good company. Been here many times and always a pleasant atmosphere inside or out.. Selection of gins but didn't see any castle gin. Bit of a surprise as it's the best one I think.

First time back since the world got back to normal, and Should have gone back sooner......still one of the best pubs in Nottz. Traditional, contemporary, and cool all at the same time.

We love the castle. The staff are lovely. The craft beer flight has 8 taps and they had some great beers on when we were there. The pizza is great with a good vegetarian selection. Pizza is two for one on Tuesdays too. How could you say no??

Visited this afternoon on a lovely, warm early spring day. Good beer and friendly service. We sat outside, at a table overlooking the actual Castle walls. A great spot to relax and enjoy a drink in this fantastic city. I had a five stars experience, and would certainly visit again.

Fantastic 19th century pub, right next to the Nottingham Castle gatehouse. If only more pubs had as much character as this 👾
