Have dined at this restaurant a few times & have always enjoyed the food. Generous servings & flavoursome, authentic Turkish /Mediterranean dishes.

Last minute choice of venue after a show at Brisbane Powerhouse. Special shout-out to fellow reviewer Monica for recommending the vego pide. Ordered same and had to do a takeaway as well as it was a very generous portion. Also, dessert space. Enough said! Lol Dinner companion ordered the mixed platter which I’m advised was good. This place was where Mado once was and I like what Istanbul 1923 have done with the place. Courtyard looked good too. Service and food were wonderful. The chefs in the kitchen were old school and friendly. Loved that. Would visit again.

Turkish restaurant and bar with the great taste with traditional cooking, just like eating in Turkey, the price is not expensive, there are many menus to choose from such as Turkish dishes, various of desserts, beverages. 😋😋😋

Very tasty food and felt like home (European)!! We came here late at night during a busy working week and got great service and tasty food. We will be back with some friends 🙂 recommend!!

This restaurant is a must go. I could not fault one thing. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food, the food was amazing, tasty, packed with flavour. We ordered from the banquet menu and one from the main al carte menu.

Really enjoyed our meal here! Amazing flavours- prawn skewers and grilled chicken were sensational.

It is a place where you can taste authentic Turkish food. The staff is kind and the classic interior is good, but the food tastes the best here. Unfortunately, however, it is now closed. It's a shame but I'm glad we were able to be the last customers of Istanbul.

Food is amazing !! Great atmosphere, fresh clean great service, the lamb skewers always juicy and my favourite definitely coming back.

The food and drinks were served promptly and were very delicious. Service was friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is lovely. We got the banquet for two, their servings were very generous and too much so we had to take it home. Reheats yay So delicious! Will be back, thank you!

Dinner here for a mate’s birthday. The food is excellent. Truly great food - very flavoursome and easily the best Halloumi I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is a little loud though, and not yet licensed, but I believe they are waiting on that.

Hands down to the best Turkish food in Brisbane. I have been to this restaurant in New Farm before and I was so sad when they announced it's closed. So happy to be back here. The food is amazing as usual and the service was excellent. Love the aircon for the summer heat.

We had a great time at the restaurant for a birthday celebration, the staff were friendly and helpful, love their smile. The food is excellent, everything is so yummy. We ordered pide and some grill, the plate are huge, we were so full. Some people said the aircon is so cold so you might want to bring a jacket with you but you feel warm after the delicious food. The only thing is the place was a Chinese restaurant and they still keep the furniture (i think) as I can see some round tables there, this makes the place less Turkish, when it is busy, it is very loud inside. I would definitely go back there for the food though.

Second visit here with a big group. First time round we had banquet 2 for 15 people and the serving sizes were generous. Today we had a family bday celebration with banquet 1 and the food was excellent. Serving sizes overly generous with a lot packed up to take home. Service is impressive, coffees were great, and it was a lovely quiet places to have lunch and catch up with family. Dishes are nut free besides dessert which took the stress away from catering for the kids. Will definitely be returning for future family celebrations

If you’re in the area and want great Turkish food this is the spot. Absolutely beautiful, staff are very friendly. Nice tradition seating arrangements, this would be so much fun to have a big party of people I’m sure everyone would be stoked. Frosty air-con for those hot summer weekend outings

Had take away multiple times and eaten here twice absolutely a lovely experience and the food is always tender, fresh and has that smoky cooked on charcoal flavour highly recommend there mixed grill and the spinach and feta pide and you can’t forget the knafeh

I had my birthday celebration in this restaurant. The food quality, quantity, and the service was superb. Staff was very polite and accommodating of our needs. Prices are reasonable for what you're getting in exchange. There's parking at the back of the restaurant, which makes it easier to invite a large group. Plenty options for children. The bread and dips; calamari; selection of meats, everything is scrumptious 😋

Food was superb. We went specially for Kunefa unfortunately it was sold out. Will come back 🙂

One of the only authentic Turkish restaurants left in Brisbane. This place has less bells and whistles than its old location in New Farm, but reminds me of the real restaurants in my home country. Co-owned by one of the best Turkish chefs in Australia - you will always have a great experience at Istanbul 1923. And all for very fair prices.

Amazing food. Authentic! Everything had so much flavour and all the meat was perfectly cooked! Ordered banquet 1 (for 2 people). Definitely plenty of food... Too much in fact, so we had to take some home as takeaway. Oh no! Haha. Delicious, great, fast service and everything was incredibly hot. Well done guys, your whole team deserves amazing praise. Best Turkish restaurant that we ever came across! Me and my partner come here every 3-4weeks in the last year or so. We never disappointed! The food is always so delicious, the owner is such a nice guy very organized and spot on. Recommend to anyone who wants to eat tasty and soft lamb that melt in your mouth 😉

Great service, prices and atmosphere. The lamb cutlets are to die for! The mixed grill is such good value and everything was so beautifully cooked. Parking can be a little tricky but this place is worth driving around for!

Had lunch here with my friend and I have to say the food is amazing. The lamb cutlets were cooked perfectly and were bursting with flavour, as was the Turkish bread and yoghurt served. My friend also stated his food was very tasty. Will definitely be coming back.

It was nice. It wasn't a knock your socks off fancy restaurant, but that's not what I was looking for. I wanted somewhere nice to go for lunch with my friends, and eat some nice wholesome Turkish food. And it was, it was very nice. Would I go back again? Most definitely.

Went there on Friday night. Food was lovely (lamb and bread were sooo good!) and the service was absolutely fantastic! When I asked to sit somewhere specific, they were very accommodating. They were very attentive and kept bringing out water for us. And when I wanted to make a change to an item I ordered, they were so helpful and even asked if I wanted extra of something else to make up for it.

Booked a table for four, and they had us seated right by the windows with a beautiful roadside view. Food portions were generous AND delicious, service was impeccable, and most importantly, reasonably-priced. 10/10 will recommend this place for friend/family gatherings!

Was recommended to come here for the authenticity to the dishes in Turkey! Food was great, good service, reasonably priced. Food 🍽️ - Hot Turkish Salami pide I'd give a solid 10/10. Everything id want.. recommend! - Shish kebab were good... but.. I expected more flavour and punch - Kofters were a bit bland, however, I just think I generally don't appreciate them? Atmosphere 🌁 The interior gave good vibes with the music, however, but was starting to become dated with the tiled ceiling. The outdoor space at the rear looked inviting and fun, however, with winter fast approaching it would be quite cold without any heaters. Summary 📝 I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area but it isn't my favourite. I will come back to explore some other items on the menu and try another time rather than a Sunday Lunch.

Fantastic meals. Fresh and delicious, very filling. Plenty of choices for food and drinks. Restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Toilets on sight. Plenty of seating areas. One of our favourite places to come for Turkish food!
