Great place to have authentic Kerala dishes. My personal favorite is Chatti Chor, Parotta and beef curry is also great. Plan your visit as the place is small and also takes time for them to prepare the food but worth the wait. Highly recommend the place.

Authentic Kerala food we have had in Melbourne! We ordered Chatti Choru, Fish Fry, Appam & Fish Curry. Everything was delicious and you feel like you’re eating a home cooked meal. The fish was very fresh unlike most restaurants. The service was very courteous. Will surely visit again and highly recommend.

Super, ΰ΄…ΰ΄Ÿΰ΄Ώΰ΄ͺࡊളി, chatty porotta was the best. We drove more than hour to get there, was totally worth it. Hospitality was amazing. Even kids loved the food. We also had the chatty chor, equally good. Thank you very much. Will definitely recommend πŸ’―.

Been awhile since we had authentic tasting kerala cuisine in Melbourne & RiceNGrill did not disappoint ! Chattichor was lip smacking good and sweets that we ordered we fresh & delicious ! The hospitality was top notch & its worth every penny you spend over here !! We'll be back, eventhough the drive was on the longer side !!

Great authentic tasting kerala food. Loved the chatti dish. The fish, chicken and beef curries that came with it were great. Would love to try the beef fry and kizhi next time. Very warm and friendly staff.

I had a mini sadhya today as I requested over phone about 1pm and they said they will provide it for me.As I reached bit earlier, they allowed me to sit in the restaurant. I was really happy to wait as I can see that they are preparing most of the dishes after taking orders. It was really worth the wait. I felt like I am in Kerala. Very authentic and homely food. I felt the prices are very reasonable as well. The staff and the owner couple were very courteous on their approach to me and other customers. If you are planning a visit I suggest to call them in advance and book your food which will help in reducing waiting time. My 5 stars for this restaurant. Keep up the good work guys! Edit: update as on 25/09/2022- Thought I would add a review of the food I had today as a gesture of gratitude. I had booked for a Kerala fish curry meal with fish fry as dine in and had beef cutlets, beef fry, idiyappam and chicken roast as takeaway. The Kerala meals was finger licking good. Especially; the fish curry , fish fry, bitter guard theeyal, cabbage thoran, mango pickle, moru curry were above the expectations. I just felt like I am at my home in Kerala. I could only taste the beef fry and beef cutlets once I reached my room. My review for beef fry is awesome and beef cutlets are outstanding. This is the second time I am getting their beef cutlets. I am getting addicted to it ! Thanks guys to make my Sunday evening well satisfied and happy πŸ™

We had porota and beef curry and chattichoru today for lunch. Porota was $3 each and beef curry they charge $9 it was nice. But chattichoru was a bit disappointed with the $25 they charged but not that worth of penny. They don't have a price menu displayed which is not common. After all it was an ok experience for us.

The food was tremendous and the gentleman at the counter was very pleasant. We had to wait nearly two hours since it was Mother's day, though it was worth waiting because of the yummiest Kizhi Parotta. The chicken was nicely cooked and the food was served in a container,so you can take the leftover without any hassle. I would say booking can make this place much organized.

We loved our experience and food at RiceNGrill. The food is absolutely amazing and took us back to Kerala. We ordered Kizhi porotta, kappa meen, egg puffs and egg gravy with Kerala porotta. The service was impeccable and β€˜Shalini’ ensured that our request to include egg curry was honoured. My husband doesn’t eat meat and I had called up a day ahead to check if they could serve egg. We were so happy that they took care of our request. Would recommend this fantastic Kerala restaurant to all my friends and anyone looking to enjoy authentic kerala cuisine. You won’t be disappointed and you are sure to take a trip down memory lane. I must add the songs playing in the background was such a beautiful collection that made me feel nostalgic πŸ’•

The food here is honestly so good! I haven’t had such good South Indian food in a long time, it’s not always easy finding a good Indian restaurant in Melbourne. This place is lovely, with a few more patrons the vibe/atmosphere will grow. It’s a family owned business and everyone is super friendly and accommodating.

It's a small place. But good food. We only tried a couple of dishes. Chatti choru and Chatti parotta. Street Parking is free on weekends. They have parking in the back, and toilet at the back.

Good food with reasonable prices. Finally an authentic Kerala cuisine which is prepared by malayalees themselves. I tasted parotta, beef fry, Kada, chicken roast, and my friends loved pineapple Puzhiseri a lot from Chatti Choru. Would definitely come back. I agree the service is slow, but I am ready to wait for things to be done right and fresh, as I know I am not going to a fast food Joint.

Was recommended by a friend to visit the place for their chatti chooru and parotta layered with chicken, beef and fish. It was delicious. It was unique . I am looking forward to trying their other Kerala authentic food. A must try if you are a malayalee living in Melbourne.

While beef was tender and the parottas soft and flaky this place seriously lacked flavour. The beef fry was bordering on bland and the rice meal was simply mediocre with the pickle being the most flavourful. Also there is no prices on the menu so do ask prices before you order to prevent any surprises. Other than the disappointing food . I came here once at 11 according to google only to find out that they open at 11.30 on the door. Came back at 11.30 to find they were still closed. Decided to call to then be told they were opening at 12.30. Decided to play it safe and finally got here at 1. Places our order and seated ourselves. 15 mins later we were asked what our order was… followed by a few minutes later the same question and then guess what someone from the back of the kitchen came out and ask what our order was. 3 times!

We ordered Onasadya today. The food was scrumptious. There were so many different items with large portions. The payasam was mouth watering! I’d highly recommended it!

Tried beef and porrotta from here .. it was quite average in taste etc. Took away a family pack of biryani. It was very well packed but the taste was not good. It was very very oily .. stacks of oil under the parcel, also lacked salt. Was very excited to find this new place but didn't live up to the hype in all the reviews. Might try again but not now

You may get comparatively better taste of kerala cuisine(in and around Melbourne), however you may need to wait for more than an hour or so even though if no crowd. The customer’s patience will really be get tested even though the food is tasty. Get in the restaurant way before you get hungry.

Outstanding customer service from the RicenGrills team. - Sincere and friendly approach. - Seamless ordering and delivery process. - Authentic food. - Must try their Alfaham chicken with Bukhari rice - a perfect blend of spices in it. - Affordable prices too. Well done team, please ensure that you maintain the same level of quality and service.

RiceNGrills newly opened in Dandenong replacing what was a really nice Polish bakery. At first I was devastated but now I am delighted because this place is my go to as a single woman to get a lazy easy tasty cheat meal and even sometimes slightly healthy bite to eat. In the short time they have been here I have tried maybe a third of the menu already. I often order the curries with rice and then eat over the course of a couple of days by adding salads or veg on the side for a balanced meal. The food is priced fairly, the quality and portion is great. Options range from really fatty lamb dishes to a simple skinless quarter chicken and roasted veg. Knowing there is a meal that both breaks my diet and also a meal option that stays with my diet has been great. Would be good to see some greens added to the maroccan spiced chicken meal as I often supplement with a light salad of baby spinach or zucchini. Would also love to see some more low fodmap options like this meal. Would love to know more about any family pack deals as when lockdown ends I intend on getting takeout from here for the family. This place is a great addition to the community. Well done!

Update: Owner contacted me yesterday and apologized! Also as a good gesture and in person delivered food last night (though I didn't ask for it). Also I only mentioned bad items in last review but there were good items too..like the items I didn't mentioned below Sambar, theeyal, erissery, kadumanga achar and both the payasams (Parippu & Adda) were good! Though Kalan, Olan and thoran was just average and that might be my personal taste buds. So edited my rating with +2 stars just those good items and for contacting me back through phone and in person! Thank you. Ordered Sadhya..timely service! but disappointed in food quality. In the Sadhya items- - Parippu (dal) was spoiled and rotten smell! - Puli Inji was made using bottled ginger paste!! - Naranga (lemon) pickle was bitter and seems lemons along with their skin was grinded and made paste as we couldn't see any cut lemons in the pickle! - Kootu curry when reheated in microwave was spoiled! - Beetroot pachadi was slithery and was scared to taste! Threw all the above items in bin!! Worst Onam Sadhya we had in our life! It can happen to anyone so can forgive if they take the responsibility but not picking up numerous phone calls and also to text message to mention above issues as feedback is the worst customer service! Not sure with this service they will last in this industry long. All the best and goodbye as you will loose another customer which may or may not make any difference to you guys!!
