I am sorry to say that I can neither say anything good other than the attendant was polite. You are asked for a credit card number in order to reserve your spot, when you get there you are required to either pay cash or by check for your reservation. There is nothing you can pay for with a credit card at Lehman's, reason they don't have a card reader in the year 2022. Would have been nice, but instead all I got was a 100 mile round trip gas bill for nothing. Just a shame 😭

We only stayed one night, arriving late and leaving early. The roads are very bumpy and hard to drive a motor home on. The pull through water and electric only spaces are basically mud. The lady who took my reservation was very friendly. I think they might cater more to the long term campers, as they are the only ones with access to the lake. One of the staircases on the playground was broken. It was harmless for a one night stay but you might want to look elsewhere for a vacation stay.

If you reserve, do so for only one night, otherwise if something isolated or unforseen happens, you will not get a refund,or be able to trade for a later time. You loose your money. I tried to negotiate, but the owner will not offer a reasonable exception for an isolated problem. Very disappointing, and not very accommodating to their customers. We paid for three nights and could only stay one night. We will never return there. Also, the trash dumpsters had trash laying around on the ground and looked tacky and unsightly. My husband and I , with rubber gloves on, went and picked up most of it and threw it in the bin. Some looked like it had been there awhile.

Don’t go there waist off time ! This place has beautiful small lake with campers around But we see only one privately owned nice site rest sites is mess Ugly old trailer with mess around with damage decks and mess around It will be best campground around but looks like owner don’t care One site owner told us that place was beautiful 25 years ago but not anymore Besides the lake they also have site with full service with no tree nothing around We get in and paid $70 for one night we don’t even set up just walk around and decide to go somewhere else The lady owner was not happy of course I don’t get any refund I sign receipt with big NO REFUND sign I don’t even fight for that this campground should be on the bottom of anyone list I don’t understand why this place is on Sam’s. Cub list

One kid was killed at this location, being run over by a golf cart. They take advantage on any little things with made up fines which they are taken out from your deposit ( for long time campers). For months , before the season started, you had to go with your own toilet paper in the pocket. The most they suffer in this park, are the full time campers, because the park management knows they have nowhere else to go and they being hit with unjust fee and excuses

Do not waste your money or time with this park. We were seasonal for six years. Reason we stayed was wonderful fellow campers. Our electric never worked on our site. It blew a circuit board on our brand new camper. We got a surge protector and electric fried it. Then we went and purchased a new 300.00 one and that one showed we never were getting enough power to run the 30 amp. Never was it fixed completely and continued to have problems, until this year when we had no power all summer and had to move to another site. We were told it would be fixed, so we were waiting patiently for it to be fixed. Then come to find out in November, that they were not allowing us to renew. The reason?? They said we called the county on them. Well first, we did not do this. Second, if someone did, what difference does it make if you are running a legit business. So, now for the review, the roads are horrible. All of them need repair and none of them are getting it. Electric doesn’t work on many sites, the owner will tell you she will fix it but never does. There is a mound of asphalt (used) on the area the call the island. Been there three years we were told it was to repair the roads, but has not been moved or used for this at all. As far as I am concerned a health hazard, first for the chemicals, second for the injuries that can happen when kids play on it. The water is not clean as it used to be. Has so much floating goose poop that you cannot swim in it safely. The rec hall where activities use to be held has bad order like mold and our whole family would have reactions after spending time in there. They advertise free Wi-Fi and cable. However, Wi-Fi and cable does not work. When you mention this you are told that they are not going to fix it anymore. She advertises activities, and this year notified everyone that there will be no activities. They overcharge for electric also. They do not maintain any of the grounds. Signs break and they leave them. Playground breaks and they leave it. They do not put any money into this place and if you need to discuss anything with the owner, she hides and doesn’t return calls or anything. When people move into the seasonal sites, she charges the people extra money of there is a deck or concrete pad. Don’t get the site with the nice deck and shed. That is the one we had with no power. I would never recommend this RV Park to anyone. When we moved in six years ago we had high hopes for it and we were told so many things were going to be improved, however nothing was done. When there was the flood due to high rains, the water to the campers was infected with sewage water. Everything was backed up and well water for people to use was bad. No one had notified anyone of this.

What a disappointment. Regardless of how nice the people are, it's still false advertising. There is no access to the rec hall or game room or teen center or multi use trails. The cable tv was nonexistent and the wi-fi hotspots never connected. The security gate is only for the seasonal section of the campground. "Resort" shouldn't be mentioned in the description of this campground.

Worst RV park we’ve ever stayed at. The woman who owns this place is a liar, she makes you pay 650 a month +300 deposit and promises to give you your deposit back before you leave. When we came here there was weeds a foot high all around where we parked our RV. Then we started reading the rules and regulations and you are required to weed eat your own area I went up to check out one of their weedeaters and they told me at the store that should’ve been done before we ever got here. We weedeated three times since we’ve been here we own no animals and we haven’t taken our barbecue or chairs out since we’ve been here one of the workers owns an RV right next to ours and she can see that our spot is immaculate. We don’t have a brick and stick house, so it’s very hard to get mail with us on the move for them to send a check to us and she has known this from the very beginning We told them that we had to be out of here by 8 o’clock Sunday and she’s been promising for a couple of weeks to get our money to us, we found out the day before that we have to wait till 10 o’clock because that’s when they open. This place also has a ton potholes that are a foot deep and it’s not maintained around here. It’s looks like all she cares about is her money and nothing about the people out here!

Long blacktop driveway into campground full of pot holes. Gravel road to campsite muddy, pot hole filled. Waited over an hour for owner to show up, with no apology... $70.00 a night is insane!!!! Good Sam, you let us down!

Do Not Believe The Bad Reviews!!!! My husband , 3 children , 2dogs and Myself checked in on Sunday No issues we where greeted by the maintenance man I can’t remember his name but he showed us to our spot and just asked if we would please follow the speed limit due to someone getting hit because people really do speed down these roads while kids are walking from playground. Kids love the jumper , laundry room is clean 1.00 for each for wash and dryer ( water does smell ) but it not that big of a deal we just got gallons of water to drink and give our dogs . Propane refill at office , dog park is cool. Will leave another review when we check out .

DO NOT STAY HERE! Karen, who I assume is the owner is the rudest women you will ever come across in your life. Roads are filled with pot holes. Over priced. You can hear vehicles from the interstate. The owner lets long term residents get away with things that new timers get in trouble for. They don’t keep up with the RV resort. Any review that tells you to go here must friends with the owner because there is absolutely no way anyone would enjoy this place.

Only take cash but took credit card in case did not show up so they can take credit. Why just cash?? Let your imagination run wild. Advertised cable but no cable. Asked for help and she said she would call maintenance nobody got back to us. Advertised internet but signal was so weak could not connect. Lakeside is only for full time owners so miss advertising. Next to highway and noisy. Trees are for long term stays only Not worth one star

The owner and staff are the rudest and most unfriendly people we have ever encountered in our many years of camping. We travel extensively with our RV all over the USA and Canada. Never have we dealt with any worse than this. Their water is disgusting, even with filters it stained our sinks and shower. The smell is awful. Their sewage is atrocious. We are happy to get out of there. Stay far away, these people do not care one ounce for their customers.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. this is NOT a resort as claimed. Huge potholes, SUV even bottomed out. Water is nasty, has iron, smells of sulphur and stains everything. No cleaning seen in restrooms, mold all over. Laundry, half machines broken. Will NEVER stay here again, nor recommend... Horrible place. Will be contacting Good Sam about this place. Sad!!!!

They advertise free cable and wifi which do not work and the owner told me they were not fixing the cable. Seems like false advertising to me. The water is from a well with very low pressure and stinks. Even with a new water filter, it stained my sink.

The roads are full of pot holes and they take forever to plow the roads when it snows. The water is the worst I’ve ever seen at a camp site and smells like sulfur and leaves an orange-brown color when in a cup- I figure there’s rust in their pipes. The office offers no flexibility (no refunds) and also raised their prices without telling us. Maintenance will not come out and help when the weather is even slightly rough. My site is not very level and has crumbling concrete. The washers and dryers have many issues and don’t get fixed often. The restrooms and showers here are nice- each shower is probably 25 square feet with a large opaque curtain, and the stalls are never gross. The internet is good for streaming services, and I haven’t had any issues with it- which is why I’m giving this place two stars instead of one.

We did not go ahead with booking a site because we sensed shadiness in what was told us. We were only given one choice for a spot to stay for a month, even though there were so many other sites open and there was a bucketfull of dog poop on the site and we could not open the electric box. We asked the lady at office, Gina, about these and rudely avoided answering. Lots of potholes and the place is wet, dank and dumpy. Cable wire was cut and not connected. Will contact Good Sam corporate office about this. This camp should not be under their banner. Will spread the word to many people to avoid this place. Too bad there is no rating less than 1/5.

So we a have a newer class A motor home and stayed here for 4 days due to visiting family living close by. The place itself worked well for our needs but our brand new e-bikes that were attached to the bike rack which was attached to our RV and locked were stolen over night. Things happen understandably and we contacted the sheriff’s department who happens to patrol the campground. The deputy was super nice and helpful. Big bummer for us and our trip- hopefully the insurance will come through for us. The campsite claims to have video surveillance but apparently it is not working. Just as head ups for anyone else choosing to stay here.

Worst campground ever. Holes in the road, swampy ponds, rude staff, terrible water, dead trees, moldy clubhouse, no activities, and most machines in the laundry room were broken. Photos they have posted are a joke.

Too bad you cant give it negative stars. This is by far the worst place our family have stayed. Resort is a complete and utter LIE. If this place is a RV Resort then Siberia is the surfing capital of Russia. The place is not maintain, looks like a dump and their mission is to suck the money dry. They dont take credit card so you cant contest the charges and/or deposit. Just drive through and you can see they are not putting any money into the place. The maintenance and grass cutting crew must be for the local Jr. High School just shoddy work at best The only people that stay are the ones that were fooled by 30 year old pictures like we were. The roads are some of the worst that I have seen they are not maintain, pot holes and ruts. I could go on and on but you get the picture

Sadly It was not what I expected at all, I reserved from FL and drove all the way up to Illinois and paid cash $252.00 for 2 nights, for 2 lots which I didn't choose becouse I was not giving an opportunity over the phone, finally when arrived they assigned 2 lots without 0 shade knowing that I had a lot of small children, I decided not to stay and they decided to keep $120.00 I said whatever stay with them, I prefer to be in a place where I can enjoy my self, I hope they use the money to pay some need maintenance in the place, definitely not worth the money at all. Their lost not mine...one less customer

While service was friendly, the bathroom and showers were locked, and the cable was not working. No discount was offered for the inconvenience. And at night, the noise from the adjacent tollway made it hard to sleep at night with our windows down. Won't be returning.

Now that the "RAINY SEASON IS HERE," DO NOT GET PUT ON THE LOTS IN MIDDLE GRAVEL ROAD!! You will end up in "2 FEET OF WATER, & NOONE WILL RELOCATE YOU!!" People have to walk on PICNIC TABLES AND PALLETS in order to get into their RV, and their vehicle!! I vowed to get my 5th wheel out of the Resort, because I wasn't going to contribute one more red cent to the Lehman Familie's lifestyle! Took 2 trucks, one pushin', one pulling, but, it's out/GONE!! The one guy in the Resort who pulled asked me if he wouldn't be responsible for damage to my fifth wheel. I said "Rip it off it's chassis if you have too, it's getting out of this Resort today/last Sat!" If I moved "in February, in all ice," come to your own conclusion, as to how the Owner's of this Resort are!🤥🤥🤥🤥 BTW, We lived here FT for 4 yrs. TRUST US!! HUGE POT HOLE'S that break exhaust systems! No lifeguard! Phillip J. Lehman claims to be the Owner, but you don't have access to him! I'd rather be "HOMELESS" than live or stay here! Won't be only Resort that allows FT living! Be patient!!!

This is a campground, we are here for one month.others seem to live here year round. There are some special activities ie pig roast for labor day. There is a lake with a small sand beach and paddle boats available. The lake looks mucky. Also, other fishing ponds. Several children playgrounds. Laundry room open 24 hrs. The restrooms and showers are spacious and clean. The camp spaces are small. Fire ring and picnic table. Staff has been friendly and helpful. The campground is out in farms, not near any metropolitan areas. You can take a train into Chicago from a local town. Walmart within 10 miles.

(Translated by Google) Friendly staff, but facilities that leave something to be desired. The water from the various faucets (showers, laundrette and on the sites) had a sewage smell and ran yellow. A bit expensive for such a service. (Original) Personnel sympa, mais installations qui laissent à désirer. L'eau des différents robinets (douches, laverie et sur les sites) avait une odeur d'égout et coulait jaune. Un peu cher pour un tel service.

First off I was told one price over the phone and then charged another higher price when we arrived. Even with a Good Sam discount a week cost me $300! Then I no sooner get pulled in when the camper behind me asks me how long I will be here and if I would mind moving in the morning so he can get out. He has to back out over the gravel because the ground is too soft from flooding. He said he let the office know this in advance and they said they would not put anyone in that spot. Needless to say, I had to move my RV the next morning! When I went to the office and informed them of the situation all I got was "Gee, we're sorry". The gravel pad was not very level and the grass was 6-8 inches high! Way over priced! Save yourself some headaches, stay somewhere else!

We have stayed here three times in the last 10 years because it is convenient to I-90 and family. All of the reviews are pretty accurate, the roads are bad, the water smelled and etc., etc. One long term camper that we spoke to was moving to the KOA. There isn't a huge selection of RV parks near Chicago.

This Place is pleasant to stay at. Staff are nice. Neighbors are nice. The rules are strict but followable. Few things to know. The WIFI is pretty much non existent. You can't get US mail at your lot. You can get FedEx, UPS and Amazon deliveries if the drivers take the time to find you. The water is a little smelly (very high in iron content). So run a good filter (when you can, winter may make this hard to do, filters tend to freeze). Animals/pets/you will get the runs if you give them unfiltered water access with no filter. The road access is rough. Many pot holes. The parking next to your trailer in some spots gets muddy. There are a few lots where flooding is a problem. But the rent is low. Power is good. Water hookup is good. The sewage hookup is good.

We stayed in this excellent quiet campground as part of an Airstream caravan tour. Sites were large pull throughs and the grassy areas in between were immaculate. Staff was attentive to our needs and brought in picnic tables to one site so our 40 members could gather for a group cookout. Check in of our 22 trailers was handled well and efficiently. The only negatives were the water supply was smelly and potholes in the driveway and roadways were numerous.

From the potholes that can break an axle, to the tight turns, to the very NOT level sites, it was an unpleasant experience. The water smells so bad (even with a water filter), we couldn't drink it. We were there for three days, so we soldiered it out. Cable is still out, probably will never come back. I-90 is just on the other side of the corn field. Very noisy! Do yourself a favor and camp somewhere else. Probably the worst rv park we have stayed at in the five years we have traveled around the country. On the positive side, The woman that checked us in was very pleasant.

We stayed here as long term campers from June to October. Still waiting for my refund and no response to emails. They initially parked us next to the dump site. Often found garbage left behind by campers dumping. Reported to the office but nothing changed. Beautiful lake but less so with little maintenance and campers with garbage piled around their campers. Electric bills were consistently around one hundred dollars, except in July when the park was packed. During this time we had an electric bill of over $250. When we switched to Comed, electric bill returned to one hundred dollars or less. This may have been a nice place at one time, but it seems to have fallen into disrepair and a lack of customer service. Update: I did finally receive my refund after two phone calls and almost two months later.

Still an absolute terrible place as of September 2023 - the road can hardly fit a regular car and trailer, not even mentioning the 20+ potholes - there is no “events” like listed, you are in the middle of two cornfields and the rules on top of it are overbearing. -you can’t have a rug out for more than 2 days because of the grace. Don’t you dare park on the empty lots even tho they will never be occupied. They have invisible ropes lining sites so your youngest child can ride a bike through it and get clotheslined 🤬🤬🤬🤬. There is no shade and the location is terrible. Would not wish on my own enemy to stay here for a week. Let alone a day. Never going back. You shouldn’t risk it either

  • 5/5 Elizabeth M. 3 years ago on Google
I have to laugh at all these negative reviews. We have been here since August and we absolutely love it. Its the best decision we ever made. The people at the park were wonderful from the very first day we got here. The owner the staff the people who we have met here. They had our back from the moment we arrived. The neighbours here are amazing. We have made wonderful friends its peaceful and quiet I have no idea why people would complain about things out of control of the park owners and staff. It rains it may flood in certain areas. Grow up its nature I feel these complainers are weekend warriors that really are looking for a glamping experience. We were new to this RV lifestyle and were overwhelmed with the kindness and help from the owner the staff and the other campers. You don't get this kind of camaraderie in a regular neighborhood. I'd tell anyone looking to try out full time RV living to definitely come here. If it were possible we would stay here indefinitely.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. This is not any sort of “resort”. I spent 3 months her only because there is pretty much nowhere else. $700 per month for a spot right next to the community dump station. The first and second month my electric bills were about $50. But conveniently the last bill which is taken out of the $300 deposit, my electric somehow hit $200!? This whole place is a scam. No lake, terrible water, bad location, expensive as hell for no good reason. STAY AWAY. TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR ELECTRIC METER.
