What a lovely place for a sweet treat and coffee. We walked from Prairie State and thoroughly enjoyed a mocha and Americano as well as a delicious warm brownie. Great atmosphere with plenty of seating indoor and out. Bring a book to read or your laptop for working remotely in a change of scenery. Or just go there for dessert after a lunch or brunch. Friendly people plus a little surprise boutique shop for jewelry and some bike accessories. Need to bring coffee and a gift for your loved one? They have you covered.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Open Door Coffee, this is the sign to go! A well themed, cozy yet elegant local stop to get coffee, tasty treats, delicious sandwich combos and more in downtown Genoa! Currently working on the banana foster parfait and let me say the flavor combination is to die for! To drink I ordered the Matterhorn in a size medium over ice. I found that mixing in the whipped cream and mocha syrup gave the drink the perfect amount of sweetness, however if you like to keep the whip on top and a sweeter taste, I suggest asking for additional sweetener. Will be back again, a lovely experience.

The best coffee shop around! The owners work so hard and want you to have the best experience possible. Their passion does not go unnoticed as the coffee is spectacular and the truck itself is adorable. Everyone is always so happy and it truly will make your day when you go. Not to mention the wonderfully creative drinks they come up with each month, there is truly something for everyone.

Love stopping in here. Very cute place and nice people. They have a dairy free yogurt parfait that changes seasonally, always delicious, and they also have a gluten free Maple Chicken Crepe I enjoy. I love that there are options for me, including the soup from time to time. They have cute little markets on the weekends and I just attended a macrame class there with my daughter last night. Also, we actually just moved out of Genoa and were happy to find them in their truck “Doorthy” every Friday around our community center. What a great surprise - the truck only serves drinks though.

We love visiting open door coffee. I really enjoy the cold brewers, they are so tasty. My kids always enjoy the treats, cake pops and mini cinnamon rolls are their favorites. The shop transformation is amazing, we can’t wait to see the finished product.

OpenDoor Coffee is a wonderful family run business, and you can tell how passionate they are about the Genoa community. I can’t wait until the building renovation is finished to see how wonderful it is, but the truck is a perfect place to stop in the time being. My favorite drink is the cold brew latte, but their menu has something to suit everyone!

This is the best coffee in the Northern DeKalb county area!! I highly recommend stopping by and trying their cold brew coffee!!

Nick the owner even helped me find the perfect grinder for my needs. Staff always goes above and beyond with quick service without compromising quality. Can’t wait for the shop to open!

We love getting our coffee from here every Saturday morning. It's something we look forward to and drive 20 minutes to get every week. The service is always excellent and our drinks are always amazing.

First off, Happy Birthday to Tracy!!! We had such an amazing experience with her on the morning of July 27th. My wife & I + our two little boys were departing Sycamore for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for vacation. We pulled up to the driveway-thru window & didn’t even realize we were nearly a half an hour early before the store opened. Lights were off, but Tracy was evidently already there opening up & happened to notice us as we were pulling away. She reached out the window to wave us down & offered to make us breakfast & coffee & to just give her a few minutes to get things turned on.. which was beyond kind & completely unexpected/unnecessary since the store wasn’t even open to the public yet. We were so grateful & appreciative of her going out of her way to do that for us when she didn’t have to. I’m not just saying this, but our breakfast sandwiches & coffee were amazing as well! Really hit the spot! Not to mention, Tracy was so kind to send us off with some water for our long car ride. It truly made our experience & our trip that morning so enjoyable! We won’t forget that! We absolutely love having Open Door Coffee in this community!

"Good coffee makes you smile" I've loved this coffee since they appeared in a homestead wedding reception a few years back as a coffee truck, and I've been hooked since then! I'll always choose to support small businesses especially when it's this good 😜 It's been a "Lifesaver" in more ways than one I get that flavor Lifesaver and or the Matterhorn when I go, conveniently they NOW have a Drive-Thru allowing people like me heading to an in-home shoots to get a quick coffee and head out! Love this truck!! Have been a fan of them for awhile now and have a subscription for beans too. All the employees are easy to speak with and friendly. They know my order before I order it and are always such a pleasure to see when I pick up my fix. The owners are down to earth and make you feel like old friends when you see them. Not only are they helping our small town economy grow, they have their own roots to establish here with their family. I absolutely adore OpenDoor Coffee! As a picky-coffee-drinker I have a hard time finding a coffee place that consistently gets it right- but this one always does. Genoa is very lucky to have them. They have also had many “collaborations” with different food trucks / vendors in the past. Support a small business and check them out!!

OpenDoor coffee is a specialty coffee shop with the cutest coffee truck parked out front to serve customers as they renovate a historic home in Genoa for their permanent home ! Their family and business fosters community and connection in our small town in the most incredible way, as a long time resident I love what they do beyond just serving coffee. They not only are the most personable staff, but often host other mobile small business on Saturdays. They have high quality, low acidic coffee with tons of specialty drinks. Their prices are a bit higher than your cup of Dunkin which reflects their quality and high standards! They always have local events in the community for kids and partner with local business. One million stars ✨

I drive all the way from Sycamore, at least a couple times a week, to buy coffee from this family. They are the absolute best people in the world. Five stars is not enough. And what they do for other small businesses they allow to come on site is nothing short of amazing.

I live alone and work from home currently during this pandemic. Throughout these past few months, I go 1-3 times a week and it really makes my morning. Although I live in Sycamore, I drive to Genoa. I love the staff, the owners, the atmosphere, the truck!, and of course the coffee. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would🧡
