Good and cheap dishes based on real Genova pesto. Better be there early because everybody wants a table! The view is not so nice but the crew is cool.

The pasta were SO salty, it ruined the taste of the dish :) But yes the pesto smells so good we came there twice for both lunch and dinner. For lunch I had the special modo one, which was unbelievably salty - don’t order this. For dinner I had the pesto - BIG YES. It is so good and saved the entire review! I bought home some pesto sauce as well and can’t wait to cook them with pasta at home! And I don’t recommend the rabbit one - also too salty!

The terrible photos are a statement to the incredible quality of this restaurant. The service and the food were amazing and it is definitely a must if you find yourself in Genova. If you have yo wait 30 minutes for a table go grab a drink and return because the true Italian experience and its low prices will be 100% worth it.

Food was insanely good. What a pesto. Be prepared to line up for a long time if you don’t make a reservation though. So worth it and the servers are really friendly, even served us wine while waiting in line! Unbelievable value, half a litre of house wine for €5.

A really cute restaurant that apparently gets really busy, however we got a spot without a problem. Ordered pasta and gnocchi with pesto and a salad. Pesto was salty so it might not be for everyone but still really good. The gnocchi were really mushy, but the taste was still nice. The tiramisu was amazing with the right ratio of cream filling and biscuits. The staff was also super nice. Generally totally recommend!

I posted a story that I am in Genova on instagram and two friends completely independent of each other wrote me a DM recommending me this place. Now it's the second time dining in here and definitely not the last. Food is top notch, atmosphere very friendly same as the service. Lasagne al pesto, trofie al pesto, fritto misto, grilliata mista, all super delicious! Prices are more than fair considering the quality of the food. 100% recommended.

The food is really flavourful and tasty, it comes extremely fast and it s definitely fresh. The Portofino pasta is incredible and I ate one of the best tiramisus there. The staff is friendly and helpful and they make your dinner much more pleasant. There is also a great view from the tables, thus i strongly recommend checking it out. The only bad thing i have to say is that I did not notice any cocktails in the menu, so I just got a sprite.

Simple and authentic. This place is the real Italian way of living. No fancy restaurants, just simple things with a lot of love. The prices are reasonable too and you can also buy their pesto from their store. Definitely a place to go if you're staying or even stopping for a few hours in Genova.

What surprised me was that the price was very affordable, and the quality of the food was quite good. The service was excellent, and when I finished my lunch and came out, there was a long line waiting outside! I cannot believe that my order of lasagna, lemon cod, and 1/4 of red wine( can drink 3-4times) cost me €20.5!

Authentic Genovese! Very tasty and very fair prices. You often have to wait for a table if you don't have a reservation, but the service staff is always eager and friendly. If you want decorated plates and a gourmet meal, however, this is not the place for you.

After trying some recommended food places, this is the only I would visit again. No wonder it’s packed 10 min. after opening. Food was great. Interestingly people would complain about food being prepared to quick. Have you ever cooked fresh pasta? It takes 3 min. =) If I were to comeback, I’d only eat here. Why bother trying overpriced pesto pasta elsewhere. Even “fish places” weren’t as good making fried seafood as this. Just be patient ✌️ Staff was very nice & spoke English.

Very delicious food that I highly recommend for first visitors. I ordered lasagna al pesto and homemade potato chips and they served the food in less than 10 minutes. It is better to reserve a table before ahead if you are coming in large number but if you go there early you can find a table. I also ordered tiramisu which was also good.

This is the best restaurant in Genova. The food is amazing, the prices are good, the service is fast and the staff very friendly! I tried the Pansoti della tradizione in salsa di noci and it was spectacular, my friend ordered the lasagna al pesto in the oven and it was deliciously creamy. For secondi we shared the fried platter of shrimps and squid and for dessert we ordered panna cota al cioccolato and cheesecake, everything was simply perfect.

To finish, we reserved a table at Cavour modo 21. Since the queue is sometimes 20m long, I can only recommend everyone to reserve in advanced. This restaurant is known for the traditional genovese pesto, but all dishes are homemade and incredibly tasty. The price is really fair too, why we could eat 4 main courses + 2 desserts and drank 1/2 l wine for just 45 €. The service is very funny and friendly and always at the table on time, so that the waiting times were never longer than 10 minutes. Thanks for the nice evening and hope to see you soon!

The meals were really amazing and the pesto was fabulous 😍 I absolutely recommend trying some dishes here. But beware you must really be hangry before coming here all the plates comes with a generous amount of olive oil

Super fast service with excellent quality and taste. Four in our party and everyone cleaned their plate and had dessert which was also delicious. The pesto is amazingly fresh and flavorful. Prices and serving sizes were perfect!!! Absolutely loved this restaurant!

Amazing place there was a queue to get in at 7 pm and they opened soon after. Many people had booked so booking is highly recommended. They did accommodate us anyway and within seconds the restaurant was packed. Service is great even though the restaurant got full in no more than 15 minutes from opening the wait for the food was minimal. Prices are affordable and food is tasty. A well deserved 5 stars ✨ even though I seldom give the highest rating to anyone.

I recommend making a reservation - people without reservations were lining up outside to wait for a table. When they open they read out a list a of reservations, my group managed to get in right away. The menu is simple, while you’re in Genova I definitely recommend trying something with pesto. The food was phenomenal and very cheap for this quality. The service was good, even though the restaurant was full and chaotic. Definitely a must try when in the city!

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel and the food was amazing and great value. Would definitely recommend. Our waiter was lovely but unfortunately the rest of the staff let the side down as not overly friendly or welcoming when we arrived and left us standing around after dismissing us when we asked for a table. Never mind as still worth a visit for the food.

The food here is amazing, no wonder why they are the champions of pesto. The pesto has a fresh and natural taste, unlike other restaurants in Genoa. I would recommend the lasagna with pesto. I will say the service needs improvement, one person is handling too many things at the same time, causing delay even with those that have reserved. Don't overstretch them, instead organise them.

Very nice place but very busy. We had trenette with pesto, green beans and potatoes and fried seafood. The price vs quality is very good and the guy who helped us was nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Highly recommended! A family style restaurant with a Ligurian flair, the pasta with green sauce is very refreshing and the seafood tastes fresh. You need to book in advance. The atmosphere is very welcoming. As

We went here at the end of october. There was only a 15-20 min wait. The dishes are super fresh and cheap. Their pesto dishes are AMAZING. We ordered the oven pesto lasagne, hot chili oil spaghetti and the trofie pesto pasta and they were all amazing. The house wine is really cheap and pairs well with the pasta. I really recommend trying this place out.

The waitress was angry. You can say things in polite way, and not shouting to customers because they haven't read a sign that is Written only in italian. The food wasn't something i will remember..

Great experience with incredibly delicious-cheap food and enthusiastic waiters. Vegan option is possible. Booking is a must since the place is quite famous, simply just send them a message on WhatsApp prior to your arrival and they will book you in!

This place boasts nice, yet honest staff that isn’t shy about telling you what you need to order. It of course also offers great food for a relatively cheap price. We paid 33€ for some wine, a split starter and two mains. The pasta was great, especially their homemade pesto.

One of the few Genoese trattorie still offering traditional food, good quality at a trattoria price! Pansotti in salsa di noci e misto di torte salate the best! Book always ahead your table !

easily the best pesto i’ve ever had! opens at 19:00 for dinner and i got there at 19:05 with a line out the door already but luckily i got in quick. owner speaks perfect english & was very lovely as well as the other employees i had 2 different dishes plus water plus dessert & it only set me back 15 euro. authentic, fast.. i nearly ordered another one. honestly not even sure if this pappardelle plate is on the menu but show them a photo & you’ll get it grazie mille cavour modo 21!!

I can’t recommend Cavour Modo 21 more!! In our few days in Genoa we went twice, and to their other restaurant Molo Modo 21. The service is so friendly and kind, despite our language barrier we were so warmly welcomed. Now, for the food… If you are in Genoa, the food, service and prices are unbeatable. We ordered the troife al pesto, portofino pasta, walnut pansoti and the spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino. The troife al pesto has potatoes and green beans, and their pesto is amazing; creamy yet fresh and light. The protofino pasta sauce which is pesto and tomato sauce was so simple yet so delicious. We also ordered wine, which was really affordable and delicious, and tiramisu which was great. The prices were the best we could find in Genoa, with almost every dish under 9 euros. The food is not fussy or pretentious, and we were left dreaming about the food. Grazie di tutto!!!

So good, really nice authentic vibe going on. The personnel is also very nice. The owner/front desk man is very charming. Also our waiter Simone was super friendly and helping out finding some vegetarian options on the menu (plenty options). And if you give a tip the whole staff applauses you / shouts some Italian thank you words towards you. We’ll be back

The best pesto pasta in my life and the friendliest stuff! The lady told me to not put the cheese straight away and first try without. It it’s superb! Also super quick and cheap for what you get. Thanks a lot! P.S. Give those guys a tip and you will be surprised with the result :)

The food in this place is just overly delicious! It’s my cousin go to place and I can only vouch for it! I’ve had the penne all’arrabbiata and the torta di cipolla, the frizzante and the tiramisù and I am so so so pleased! Love it and totally recommend it!

Such a nice evening. Note: They are open on Monday! Opens at 7, I arrived 7:20, got a table no problem but by 7:40pm there was a big line. Pasta is fresh and therefore quick! Staff were all lovely. They are world champions in pesto. Lovely balcony views. They ran out of panna cotta but the tiramisu was also great. I had a pasta, 1/4l wine & dessert €17.50.

🫤 We took the tram up to the top to have dinner here not knowing we needed to book. They seated us but with a negative look. The waiter didn’t speak English but we choose 4 toppings but only three came out. The pizza was ok but nothing special. We had better pizza a few days earlier in Nice which was...
