My husband and I visited this jewelry store in June of 2022. My husband picked out and purchased a beautiful piece of jewelry as a 30th anniversary present for me. When we got to the airport for our return flight home, we learned we could get a refund for the VAT tax since we were visitors to Europe. We also learned we should have been given the paperwork at the time of purchase to facilitate the VAT refund. When we contacted Bouverne we were told they were unable to assist us as we should have requested the appropriate forms in the store. It was very obvious we were American and we also discussed with the sales persons that we were visiting from the United States for our anniversary. I can't understand why the forms weren't given at the time of purchase like any reputable business would have done. The Bouverne is most helpful when taking your money but very unhelpful after they have your money so make sure you ask about VAT refunds and get the needed paperwork at time of purchase.

Two months ago, I enquired about the availability of a particular watch. I received a reply stating that the availability was not yet known but I would be put on a waiting list. At the beginning of this week I was notified that the watch was in fact available and if I wanted it to reserve it. I confirmed and we fixed a date and approximate time for a viewing of the watch. The jeweler confirmed by mail that the watch would be reserved for me until and including the date of the appointment. I made time in my schedule and went to the appointment. When I arrived at the jeweler, I was welcomed and told that they had sold the watch to another customer that morning. I was literally dumbfounded. I was under the impression that a jeweler of this caliber would be reliable, but apparently, they jeweler haver a different set of business ethics. With this, they have lost me (and my wife) as customers, forever. There are other luxury jewelers in Belgium who do honor their commitments. EDIT: and then the jeweler responds completely besides the point with a template reply, only to reinforce my opinion.
