Located in the historic and popular Vrijdagmarkt, multiple inside and large patio outside seating which is where everyone wants to be on a sunny day. Had a selection of meats, fish, salad, pasta. I forgot to mention a food allergy and they were quick to replace the dish with no issues. Good service, rest area with limited access is upstairs and did not see an elevator.

Had a dinner for four tonight. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ate Mussels, Entrecote (Steak) and the Ghent Beef Stew. All guests reported very good flavor. Quantities were appropriate and prices were reasonable for 4 persons to have dinner on the main city square. I would recommend.

Hello! Overall, I am very satisfied with experience and recommend this place. Food. We took 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and beef stew with french fries. Dishes have been very delicious, products have been fresh and good quality, portions have been pretty fulfilling. Service. It was about 2pm when we arrived and there were not so many empty tables outside, despite this we received menu and order without any delay, personnel has been always attentive to requests of the guests. Atmosphere & location. It is cozy outside, and antique inside, it was not so hot (considering midday of august) and even pleasant to stay in this place enjoying beautiful view on Belgian buildings and square. Price. Considering economy of Belgium, location and type of the restaurant, quality and quantity of food offered, friendly and polite service, it is fairly priced. We have spent about 45€ (two big main dishes, coca-cola and water). I strongly recommend to visit this restaurant. Thank you very much!

Definitely not bad. Very good soup. The stew was quite good tasty but maybe still a little bit too hard, I don't know if it depends on the meat quality or if to needed some more cooking.

Disappointed. Being born in Ghent, I tried two local dishes The “Stoverij” was dried out strings of meat and mediocre in taste. Fries were hard and dry as well... My spouses “kroketten” were rather cold in the middle. Bummer :( Now, some Gentenaars can be rather “ in-defense” when being pointed out so I didn’t wanted to argue with the staff and only leave this review as my experience. There is better out there for 44 Euro’s ( 2 main dish, bottle of 9 €water and sauce)

We visited this restaurant twice within 3 days, the offered menu of the day for lunch. I think good value, just €13.50 + cost of drink. We ordered a bottle beer at€3.00.

Always great service, friendly staff, great price/quality and some true flemish classics, good to find a real nice restaurant between the tourist traps. Definitely recommend!

The service was very good and the waiters were very friendly and welcoming, but for the price the food was a letdown. 15 € for two tiny half filled mussel croquettes and a mini salad is not a fair deal. And when ordering 'Geuze' I expected more than a Mort Subite.

The menu was quite limited and nothing really grabbed our interest at first. In the end we did enjoy the meal but missed the dinning experience.

Type of restaurant that adds extra items to your bill hoping you won't noticed... Sadly, found out the day after. Food was okay or fairly nice. The shrimp croquettes were bland. The Gentse Stoverij was pretty nice. Price was too high for the quantity and quality. The interior looked great, though, and it has a nice view of the square.

We ordered entrecote and we were not able to eat even half of it. Super super chewy! The quality of the meat was not as expected.

Good beer, food average. Impossible to split the bill and order more than 4 dishes per table (even though 6 people are sitting).

The offer was wide, the food was plentiful and tasteful. We've had a lovely day at the terrace. Recommendable.
