Been coming here since I was a child every time I would come to gent. The flavour of these fries are just top notch, I heard he cooks it in animal fat instead of vegetable oil, which definitely is one of the reasons for its excellent flavour. The same guy I first saw 20 years ago still runs the place, a real small business owner who honors his trade. Highly recommend checking this place out, no matter the line.

Incredible fries! This is the real deal. Just a guy making and selling fries from a small stand. The proprietor/chef (Filip) seems to love his work and it shows!

You must visit this place if you ever visit Ghent. We ordered the small fries with Beef stew and it was delicious. Portions are generous. It can serve as meal for one.

Warm yourself on a rainy day! You cannot get cheaper fries than this! Generous portions (big 2.20 Euro), with stoofvleessaus (recommended).

best fries in town, no doubt about it. The meat melts in your mouth and the quality of the sauce is superior. If you visit Gent this place is a must on your itinerary :). PD: just cash accepted

Went here due to a massive line of people. We decided to come back later in the day which was a smart decision, as we didn’t have to wait for than a few minutes. Definitely nice frituur, good portions and decent prices. The typical broad selection of sauces and toppings. Downside was that the people working there didn’t wear gloves - they just picked up whatever topping you wanted with bare hands. Felt a little unclean. Keep in mind that they also just accept cash.

To be honest, for the line of an hour I thought it would be good fries. The fries are not that good due to the amount of oil it had. The price is ridiculous cheap but I would prefer a better fries fried in a new oil. You can only pay cash

The fries were made in animal oil. For non-pork eaters, it may taste different. The options for sugar were regular. There were lots of meat options and the classic sauce tasted okay. Only cash is accepted and generaly there is a wait time of 20 minutes. The price is decent for a roadside fries shop.

If you're on the hunt for the best fries, look no further than this hidden gem. The fries are some of the best I've ever tasted – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What's even more amazing is that they're incredibly cheap. This was definately my favourite fries shop in Belgium.

I'm pretty sure this place has turned me off fries for the rest of my life because I'll never be able to find fries as good anywhere else!! I heard about it on the internet, and it was a bit tricky to locate the place itself because there's simply no sign whatsoever on it. But there's always a line of people in front of the window :) For the sauce, we decided to stick to the classics: mayo, ketchup and mustard. To be fair, you don't even need any sauce I think the fries are enough on their own. Would definitely come here again next time I'm in Gent!

Delicious. Owner is super nice. Great prizes. I had no idea what these were called, so I showed him a picture of a previous review, and he was so proud, “I made those!” Definitely go, show him a picture of these. Haha.

The fries are amazing, the beef stew is a bit of an acquired taste, but the more I ate the more I liked it. I thought an order of fries with the beef stew on top would be a full meal, but the stew was more in the amount of topping. It worked for a light meal, though, and left plenty of room for waffle.

We were waiting in the line for half an hour because we thought this place would be exceptional. The quantity and prices are good, but nothing too special.

Nice fries with beef stew. Long queue but it moves really fast. €6.50 for it which is not too bad.

Small street food place, very cheap. The owner was a bit funny, he kept speaking Dutch to me even if I spoke English. Crunchy fries, but not the best I've had.

We came here in 2019 and revisited again today because the food is just that good! There was a queue when we arrived and it was the same length when we left again but nobody seemed to mind waiting. The portions are generous and good value for money. We each had a small portion of fries with beef sauce for €3.20 and we went and sat on the wall overlooking the canal while we ate. Yum!

We ordered the Belgium fries with stew (6€) and the meat on the stick 3€ (don’t remember the name) would suggest a better display of the menu because some prices aren’t there. There’s only one person working there so the queue can get pretty big! I would totally recommend for a quick meal!

The best fries I have had during my week-long vacation in Belgium. The typical belgian stew is also very good paired with the fries. Really cheap prices and Filip is also very welcoming and nice. 100% must go if you visit Ghent.

Locals eat here, so clearly it's not bad. Just when I ordered, the guy gave me the wrong sauce (I didn't want mustard), and the mustard was quite acidic and made my stomach not feel great. The fries themselves were good.

Loved this little hole in the wall. Friendly guy just out here serving the best chips. We showed him pictures of previous reviews with the brown meat sauce over fries and he made it for us. Not sure what it's proper name is...maybe it's stoofvleessaus?

👍👍 « Luxury fries 🍟 » and well it is quite expensive. But I’d say it is worth it at least once. It is the price for exceptional fries 😉. The fries were absolutely delicious, and well cooked. They ask you to choose 2 homemade sauces. I took the béarnaise and 🤤. The chicken chunks were natural and tas...
