Amazing fries, lots of snacks and sauces, especially the homemade vegan tartar sauce was heavenly. The vegan stoofvlees is a definite recommendation, very flavourful and tastes amazing as a dip for fries. The portion sizes are very generous, we got one large and one extra large (which was a bit too much to finish in one sitting). Service was super fast too, even though it was fairly busy. If you feel like fries and find yourself in Ghent, the Frituurketel is the place to go!

All about fries and sauces. You can also find chicken tenders, sausages, burgers… There are a lot of veggie and vegetarian options. ✅Everything is tasty. We recommend you to order the handmade sauces (the ones with a fork in the menu). We tried tartarar, pepper and the stoofvlees sauces. The small fries are ok for 2-3 people, even the say that are for 1-2. Cheaper and tastier than others of the city centre.

Good fries, but are they really worth the hype? I don't think so. Burgers are deep-fried, which seems ... odd. Quite slow service: they give you a beeper so you can go and sit down while you wait 10-15 minutes for your food to be cooked.

As always, shops in Ghent do not disappoint! They have a lot of vegan snacks and burgers. I personally couldn't try the menu as I stay away from gluten and they didn't have many gluten free vegan options except falafel. The fries were good. The place is cozy. The staff is friendly. The vegan samorai is D.E.LICIOUS! 🤗💚

The fries were ok but everything else was a bit of a let down... Maybe my expectations were too high based on these reviews. Decent but not amazing.

Decent fries, although not the best I've eaten. Super crowded place, we had to wait 45 mins to even order our fries on a Sunday evening. Pretty inefficient operations. They have vegan sauce offerings. I thought it was super value for money though, the extra large fries was €3.50 with €1.00 for sauce, and it easily feeds 3 to 4 people.

Asked for all vegan items and received 1 meat burger. Very disappointed because I repeated 3 times that it should be 'vegan'. If you can put an effort into writing vegan on the sauce.. why not on the boxes of the burgers? Even worse, it didn't happen for the first time. And in case of allergies this would've been really bad..

This place is quite a long and inconvenient walk from the centre but it’s really worth it. The fries are good. They are not perfect but they are good. But the place is nice, and the sauces, felafel, etc are all way better than you’d find elsewhere. They are clearly sensitive to vegan and vegetarian customers. They are clearly thoughtful people. There is even a sink and soap to wash your hands when you’re done. Compared to the competitors closer to the centre, there really is no contest. If you can stand the journey, you shouldn’t think twice about coming here.

Truly delicious. We had a vegan burger, a regular one, two bottles of water and a large portion of fries with mayo and all that was around €16-17. The girls behind the counter were also super friendly and helped us whenever we didn't know what the German menu said.

Fries are done in vegetable oil, so vegan fries available. Very good selection of vegan Burgers and Snacks. There is a sitting area in the first floor. Large portion of fries is huge! be prepared ^^

Super tasty veg burgers, not dry, huge and great! And a lot of potatoes even for the small portions. Also, about 20 sauses, I think. Tried new one: Gentse mosterd. Recently they added 4 tables outside, which is very nice. Highly recommended place!

The Frietketel is a great snackbar for vegan options. I regularly go in the lunch hour to get the Belgian fries with vegan samurai sauce. This place is the cats meow.

We were looking for vegan stoofvlees and we found it! This is a very cosy place to eat with all the vegan snacks you can imagine. Would definitely recommend to pay them a visit if you are around.

One of the best frituurs in Gent, but definitely the best for vegetarians and vegans! They have a wide range of veganized classical frituursnacks combined with many original snacks and burgers. Beware that the line can be very long around 19:00 - 20:00 however, but it's worth the wait! I recommend the vegan julientje aka 'Guustje'. It's just as great if not better than a regular julientje (and just as greasy 😋)

Lovely fries and great vegetarian and vegan selection. Unfortunately my Guustje was seriously oversalted, which made it hard to eat, but still giving them a decent score because all previous visits have been great.

We were looking for the "best fries in Ghent" and certainly found them! Honestly don't remember having that great french fries in a long time, and the prices and portions are more than fair! Highly recommend :)
