We
had
a
wonderful
experience.
The
food
was
tasty
and
well-prepared,
the
service
prompt
and
friendly.
Honestly,
we
felt
right
at
home.
We
picked
the
chowder
and
mussels
starters.
The
chowder
was
creamy,
and
featured
fresh
veggies
and
flaky
pieces
of
fish.
The
mussels
were
served
in
a
well-balanced
broth
that
had
hints
of
lemongrass
and
cilantro.
This
course
was
served
with
brown
bread
and
real,
lightly
salted
butter.
For
the
main
we
picked
the
panko
battered
fish,
and
the
Japanese
special.
The
panko
was
more
mild
in
flavour,
the
Japanese
special
more
layered.
We
loved
both.
Both
featured
a
crispy
outer
shell,
and
perfectly
cooked
fish
on
the
inside.
They
were
served
with
thin
skin-on
fries,
the
perfect
marriage
of
Belgian
and
British
traditions.
The
mushy
peas
and
coleslaw
were
exactly
what
we
expected
them
to
be.
The
homemade
mayonnaise,
regular
and
wasabi,
is
absolutely
worth
trying.
As
is
the
homemade
lemonade.
We
tried
both
kinds;
lemon-lemongrass
is
sour
and
refreshing,
ginger-orange
is
milder
and
tangy.
We
also
enjoyed
the
look
of
the
place.
There's
lots
of
tongue
in
cheek
art
that
looks
like
it
was
custom
made
just
for
this
place,
pretty
greenery
and
eclectic
architectural
features.
Cutlery
and
vinegar
are
already
present
on
the
table,
both
the
fish
and
earthenware
have
been
selected
with
sustainability
in
mind.
Reservations
unnecessary,
unless
your
group
has
6
or
more
people.
