Nice park on central Gent. Well worth a trip. Things to keep the kids entertained and the part on whole seemed to be well kept. Lots of spaces to take a seat or a picnic.

Alright, listen up folks, because I've got the lowdown on Citadelpark in Ghent. Picture this: a lush, green oasis smack dab in the middle of the city. It's like nature's way of saying, "Hey, take a breather!" Walking into Citadelpark is like stepping into a serene wonderland. Trees, flowers, and that fresh grass smell – it's an instant mood lifter. Whether you're a nature lover, a jogger, or just want a chill spot to read a book, this place has got you covered. But wait, there's more! This park is not just about tranquility. It's got some serious coolness going on. There's a legit castle right in the heart of it – S.M.A.K., the contemporary art museum. Art and nature? Sign me up! Now, here's the cherry on top: the pond. Ducks, swans, and all those water vibes make you feel like you're in a Disney movie. Seriously, it's like a slice of fairytale magic right there. Plus, if you're a history buff, you're in for a treat. The park's got some historical ruins, like old city walls, that take you on a journey through time. It's like history and nature had a baby, and its name is Citadelpark. So, if you're in Ghent and need a dose of green therapy, Citadelpark is your spot. Go explore, chill, and soak up all that good stuff nature has to offer. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Really nice landscaped garden with pieces of art/architecture thrown like nuts in chocolate. If you are in Ghent especially in summer and want to get away from hustle bustle of the city center, this is the place for you.

Beautiful, but only open for a couple hours. Double check times before you go. Also, unlike other tourist attractions, there is very little information shared. You may want to read up a little before you go. Definitely worth going though.

Real shame it wasnt open. Google's maps take you to the back of it. The only info found at/near the site was in a window of a building in the nearby park. Needs to have better organized and website.. looked cool what we could see

I loved this park. It is a nice place to walk in the morning. I visited it during summer time and the roses were just espectacular. There is a botanic garden inside (larger than I actually though it would be) just adorable. It is worth spending an hour or so just walking around.

I fell in love with these ruins full of history! Ancient abbey built in 7th century, almost ruined in 16th, but survived till our days. In quite busy and loud city center of Ghent it is a real surprise to meet this quiet and peaceful green place. Abbey is opened only on weekends, so not very easy to get there at any time you wish, but you should definitely plan your visit here! The entrance is free.
