Beautiful nature reserve. Great for runners and walkers. Some parts of the trail prohibit cycling.

I love walking here (since 2014), there is so much to see and experience. Today my four year old boy, "I want to always come here", I asked him why, he said to watch the frogs; they were floating on water to bask 😊

A green oasis of 543 acres (220 hectares) ideal for a stroll and birdwatching. This is of the most bird populated nature domains in Flandres. It's located only 3 kilometers from the city center and easily accessible by car or public transport. Follow the main walking path and it will lead you around the central marshes and some ponds along the way. This route will take you 2 to 3 hours to complete including bench stops along the way. A cafeteria and restroom are located at the main entrance. Guided tours are available: check the website for dates and times of departure.

It is a simple location, no loads of flowers everywhere, no fountains or lush green grass you are not allowed to sit on. Their multiple types of tracks, those accessible to all, those which are little more off the beaten track. You can take your dog on the normal track only, which we took. It took us a couple of hours to go around and there are many species of birds to spot threw the vegetation as well as some horses and cows. It was great to be in nature, recharge with a nice walk before hitting the city of Gent. Why the missing star? Well I did not see any signs for the toilet so I don’t know if there are any. I presume not. I would recommend it, to connect with nature and help you relax.

Incredible place to go with your family, specially with kids. Even on winter you can go for a walk in the woods. My son loves the chain bridge. I'm not rating it as 5 stars because there is not so many places where you can ride your bike.

(Translated by Google) Very nice piece of nature for walking, just a pity that there is nowhere on the paths a waste bin. (Original) Zeer mooi stukje natuur om te wandelen, enkel jammer dat er nergens op de paden een vuilbak staat.

Excellent piece of nature in Gent, understandably crowded on a sunny Sunday. Nice walk of approximately 5km with unfortunately a noisy part of the way next to the highway.

Here is a plain that is rich in natural resources. There are many small ponds and canals that house many waterfowl including wild ducks, wild geese, teals, and swans. Most of the area is open grassland and has a very good atmosphere. Wild birds can be seen in the distance. Around the area, there are small paths that converge to the starting point which makes it very pleasant for hiking or jogging. In the areas where there are interesting plants or creatures, there are labels and descriptions that are written in Dutch to describe them. If you are a nature lover, this place is what you are looking for because it is very beautiful and safe to visit. In my opinion, the unfortunate thing is that there are few trees and almost no big trees. personal advice 1. Bring binoculars for waterfowl viewing. 2. In spring and summer are the most beautiful times to visit here. 3. The walking path is not complicated, so don't be afraid to get lost.

Amazing park surrounded by the city of Gent. It offers different exciting views all year. You can choose between different rounds that are mostly wheelchair accessible. Different observation huts offer amazing views. There is also a nature-center where you can follow workshops, buy books and even have a coffee or a nice snack! Totally worth it.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful wetland. Some hiking trails are dyke-like and therefore higher. Others are low-lying trails, as you would expect in a wetland, not dry. Limited number of benches to rest or to eat something from the sandwich box. In addition to bird sounds, the Ringweg4 can be heard. Have also heard a drone. Even in the winter months many walkers and joggers. Some trails quite muddy. Sturdy waterproof shoes recommended. Very busy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons! (Original) Schitterend wetland. Sommige paden nogal modderig. Stevige waterdichte schoenen aanbevolen. Zeer druk op zaterdag_ en zondagmiddag!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful nature reserve for walking on the outskirts of Ghent. A bit of a shame about the noise from the R4 in the background. In wet weather, provide shoes that can get wet and dirty. Don't forget the binoculars to watch the birds from the viewing huts.

(Translated by Google) I would have given 5 stars but because of the people who come there it is worth 2 more. In these times a mass of people, too empty to move aside, you comment on it, they laugh about it, ... Many people now cannot do anything else, all understanding, but for me it is the only thing I CAN do . Taking some account of your fellow man who, like me, can belong to the risk group does not cost any money.

Very nice walking area It looks well managed and is accessable easily by public transport It has plethora or benches and path ways for both runners, hikers, families and older people If you like birding, it's a great place for it not far from city center There are 3 bird huts and of course if you wanna see a good amount of species without disturbance, early hours are the key Very recommendable if you visit Gent and want some nice nature walk within the city parameters

It's a naturalπŸŒ„πŸŒ³πŸžοΈ reserve on the outskirts of the Belgian city of Ghent.🌁 It covers 230 hectares. It mostly consists of wet, often flooded, meadows interspersed with ditches and canals, and is an important wintering area for water birdsπŸ¦†πŸ¦‰πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ¦’.
