Great location for walking around the heart of Gent. Parking garage 4 one block over is only 16 a day and convenient. It didn't give us a ticket. But when you go to leave, you put in your car's license plate and pay. Excellent breakfast. I didn't really expect much from a budget hotel and was very, very surprised at the quality of the breakfast. Rooms are small, but that's okay if you just want a cheap room close to all the sites.

Stayed 2 nights there and woke up 2 morning with loud drilling and knocking noise! It was so loud that I almost jumped out of my bed! Unfortunately I cannot posting the recording here, otherwise it could be a perfect alarm material! Complained with the front desk and specifically asked if it will continuing the next morning, the answer was it will not be the other day morning. So as you can already guess, same happened the other day morning! Even earlier! In general, I am not a picky customer, I completely understand the situation that some work need to be done and did not make a fuss about it, however what I could not understand is that why customers are meant to be lied as they don’t deserve to share such information which are violating the basic principle of living, let alone in a hotel! I bet the construction continues while we left. Until we check out, employees did not show any apology for this situation, maybe they don’t care after all. So aligned with other comments, this hotel has basically no service! To conclude, if you don’t want to live on a construction site stay away, for your own health! Stay safe, stay healthy!

Small room but that’s okay, and it’s clean. Bed is really comfortable and you don’t really have any bothers for sounds or anything. The breakfast is also really good but it’s sad that if you have a dog, you can’t sit in the dining room but have to sit in the bar at a very small and low coffee table. One thing I didn’t like was how the bar and desk staff wasn’t organized well. One person had to do the reception and the bar, like how? Plus, even when no one was at the reception, the staff member didn’t even bother to serve us a drink! So we just went outside and went to a café.

The rooms are extremely small, 4 of us stayed in separate rooms. No kettle coffee on the 3rd floor. In the rooms located on the 4th floor. The room has a kettle and coffee. The rooms are clean. The staff is good. Less kind of breakfast. It is located in the center. There is the Internet.

I had a good experience here, the staff were helpful and the location is good. We found parking to be a tight squeeze so would be wary if you have a larger car. Breakfast offered a number of different options in the morning from hot food to cold meats and cereal. I stayed in a twin room which faced the tram line, this was slightly loud especially with the occasional night bus but fine would I got to sleep. Rooms are compact but suitable for a short business stay.

I did not stay here personally as I was tour managing a band that did but honestly the team at this hotel were the best team I've ever worked with - they went above and beyond and were extremely communicative and helpful! I would HIGHLY recommend staying here :)

I had really great experience this time, as I stay here often when I am in Gent for work. It was first time I had to ask to reception to change the room twice - I am very sensitive with artificial perfume. My first two rooms were smelled so badly with air spray, apparently it is one of the new cleaning rule from the office of Ibis hotel to use the spray. Those the smell stays on the small desk, curtain, and floor. After I got third room which didn't have those perfume smell, I got my peace back. Moreover, the responsible receptionist and cleaning manager came to my room and they explained they got new rule to use the air spray, and they will arrange not to use the spray while I stay here for few days. I really appreciate their concern, especially cleaning manager's care for a guest. This hotel is always tidy, never felt uncomfortable before, and it is hard to understand why they need to use air spray. Also spreading chemical substantial in the room is not so friendly for human health and environment. at least there are certain people who get unwell, like me. I hope this voice will reach to the head office. I really appreciate the tidiness s of the guest room, and great team work of the workers here in ibis Gent Centrum Opera. Thank you very much!

My wife and I where staying here for a few days and had a generally good time. But one day when we came back to our room we discovered somebody had been in there and went through our bed, although we had the do not disturb sign on the door. Pillows where on the floor and all the sheets where thrown together. When we asked about it we where told that there was an inspection for bedbugs and we where given new sheets we had to put on ourselves. The whole thing made my wife and me very uncomfortable in our room. I feel like stuff like this should not happen and no strangers should be let in an obviously occupied room. We feel really bad to have to sleep in a bed where apparently someone had worked carelessly. This compromised our otherwise pleasant stay at Ibis Centrum in Gent. (Edit: we discovered they did not even give us a pillowcase after I explicitly told them that the pillow was on the floor. What a mess…)

Nice location, parking underground pvt parking, early check in, very friendly staff, tram stop in front of the hotel, so many restaurants just outside the hotel, 5 minutes walking to the centre. Minus point: very small room en bathroom

Nice hotel well located about a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city with a tram stop right at the front door , staff were welcoming , beds very comfortable , rooms a bit small but adequate for a hotel room , just a shame there wasn't any coffee or tea making facilities in room

Good price around 100 for 2pax /night. It was our anniversary so my boyfriend told them to prepare something for us, and they gave us a small fruit basket ❤️ I was expecting a kettle to boil hot water but theres none.

Great location near the city center and friendly staff. Room is really warm, airco not really working, bathroom way to small. Much noise on the hallways. Won't recommend, spend a bit more to have a decent room.

Very nice hotel, super friendly staff, nice bar, super breakfast buffet. Rooms are comfortable. Small point to be improved, the heating system does not work well and is very noisy. For the rest, super hotel, and a big public parking nearby .

Not a bad hotel option. The room was very small. The location was decent though, a short walk to the city center. Lots of food options and some grocery stores.

one of the reasons why my visit at Ghent is wonderful is because of this property. At the end of a long tiring day, you would want to come back to a comfortable, clean and quiet place and Ibis Ghent Centrum Opera is a very good place. For the price point, this is a very good property. You'll have a spacious room and toilet. The bed is comfortable, you have a tv, usb charging ports and hot water for bath, what more can you ask for! There is a tram station in front of the property, restaurants nearby and you are a walking distance to the shopping alley that leads to the touristy destinations. The team at the hotel are very professional and helpful.

Not much to comment, it's an Ibis! Small, simple, but enough to have good rest. The people in the front desk are very nice and always available to help. Good cost/benefit ratio for business trips.

Hotel was central to everything with a tram stop directly outside. The room was super comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous. Will definitely return

The location of this hotel is pretty much perfect for getting arou and visiting Ghent. Literally, a train stops 10 feet from the front door. Also, it is located very close to the large, historic cathedrals and sites. The room was comfortable and small, but just right for 2 people.

Great price and good location. Despite the trams driving past the hotel, I didn't hear anything, so it was nicely quiet. Really loved the environmental details as skipping the room clean and suggestion to sort the trash in the hotel room.

Without a doubt, you get good value for money here. The rooms are indeed tiny, but good furniture in a clever arrangement largely compensates for that. The breakfast is good standard, maybe a bit above average concerning the selection of fresh tea, eggs, and pancakes. The clear highlights were the comfortable bed, the really hot shower and the super caring, friendly staff... What more do you want from a city hotel?! 😎😉🥞🤳

Booked a room for one night and I can only say that I wish we stayed longer. Nice Room (clean; maybe a bit small, if staying longer) , awesome Breakfast (eegs, beans, bacon, waffles, breadrolls, pastries,...) and directly at the TramStop for Flanders Expo. I absolutly recommend this hotel.

Very conveniently located Ibis hotel, right in the Ghent city center. The rooms are small but tidy, with large windows. Overall the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is 16€ per day, an all you can eat buffet, which is a bit expensive. The staff is particularly friendly and helpful. I had a great stay!

It was a nice place. My only issue was that there was nothing to drink in the room. Not even a watercooker, tea or coffee. For that price it was the minimum I would expected.

Stay of 4 nights. Whilst the room itself was good and clean, the following points were of concern: the bathroom [very clean and with good fittings] was very small and lacked any kind of fan assisted extraction. The beds were quite comfortable, unfortunately the [foam] 'top' matrasses were too warm and slid slowly off the bed. The warmth and ventilation in the room were poor, the only way to ventilate was to open a window [room at front of hotel] which was impossible at night due to the city and traffic noise [OK budget hotels often suffer from this], the airco fan produced such a high pitched noise that that could not be used at night. It was not made clear how we were supposed to get clean towels or have the waste bins emptied as there was no houskeeping. We are always prepared to accept no housekeeping during a period stay but it should be made clear at the onset and all protocols should be explained.

If you want a better night’s rest, buy a cardboard box and sleep out on the street because the soundproofing would be better. The whole place echoes with slamming doors all night. Conversations and other unwanted noises can be heard through two walls. I gave two stars because the staff are very kind. The hotel build is shabby. Expect better for £100 a night.

Small rooms without coffee/tea amenities. It has the basics you need but if you are a coffee drinker keep in mind there is no kettle to boil water not coffee machine in the room. Rooms are not well isolated since we could hear everyone in the hallway during the night and it felt like they are talking right next to my head. Location is great, staff is super friendly and breakfast was beyond our expectation. Good variety of food and staff always make sure that they refill on time. If you are planning to explore the city and use the room only to sleep then I would definitely recommend.

Accessible place but I got a room where the bathroom door could not even be closed. The coffee is not good either. Even for a single night, I don’t recommend this place.

Uncomfortably small room with equally uncomfortable tiny bathroom. Floor space is basically an open suitcase. AC makes an annoying loud buzzing sound. Would not recommend to travelers with large or multiple luggage. Decent rate and location. Thin walls.

This was a decent hotel, breakfast buffet better than expected, but a little expensive at €15. The other options in the city before 8:30am are limited, so this was the best thing going. As for accommodations, they are tight, borderline cruise ship constraints. I shared a room with a friend, 2 separate beds, and we were packed in like sardines. Problems with opening door to bathroom while someone is sitting at desk, etc. However, it was clean with a decent design. We each had some difficulty moving around the bathroom and especially the shower because of the smallness. Ghent hotel prices are high for what you get, but there aren't a lot of options.

It is a good hotel as you can expect from ibis. breakfast is basic, but worth taking: tasty and you have warm food too. BUT I put two stars : I was not able to sleep because of all kind of noise: - the room door is constantly making knocking sound/ noise - very loud air conditioner - you can hear everything what is happe ING in the corridor and nearby rooms. The hotel was quite full and some people were very loud after midnight!

Tiny rooms, long way from centre. Disappointed as we booked the Ibis by the Cathedral, as it was close to everything and one of our party has difficulty walking distance. We were moved as they said they were overbooked even though we booked months ago. Had to spend money on taxis. Will think twice about using Ibis again.

Ok hotel for the price, but the rooms are small, lacking fridge, water kettle, tea bags, sugar and coffee. The AC is old and extremely loud.

Here for a business trip and quite an okay room. I had a room facing the street and these are not sound proof, fyi. Still had a decent rest as on a weekday it was relatively calm until 7am. Room small but modern/efficient.

Nice bar with good evening atmosphere. Basic but serviceable facilities. Odd design faults in rooms such as no shelf for shower gel inside shower. Very close to Gent central area; convenient for the Festival.

Location is good, parking is convenient but rooms are very very very budget and very narrow and not that clean. We have been to many other ibis around Europe, this is by far the worst experience we had in a ibis hotel

Very nice location, close to the city center, and very well served by public transportation. Awsome breakfast with very nice variety of leaf tea option. Thank you to the team taking care of it. 5 star + for everybody working at front desk in the reception and for the cleaning team. Highly recommended! Thank you all!
