None of the many comments or pictures accurately reflect this dismal hotel. It is dark, dingy and our room’s windows were directly on a sidewalk / street with many young lad students walking by.. yes young lads are noisy. We would have needed to keep the drapes closed throughout the day in this tiny room, as a result of heavy foot traffic. The owner gave us a tour of the dining area and patio area …not like the pictures, it was dingy. Actually somewhat creepy with a huge staircase that badly needed paint and lighting. I cannot imagine that 230+ past guests had given rave reviews for this place. To her credit the woman owner gave us a refund as we had been in the room 5 minutes before announcing we were leaving. We travel frequently …39 trips to Europe over the years…and this is the worst blatant misrepresentation of a property I have ever seen. We loved Ghent!

I loved Ghent, but I loved the hotel even more. The owners make you feel like at home. They have engaged with us over breakfast that is served and made by them which was very nice. You can see Ghent from the rooftop - perfect to sit with a Belgium beer after the whole day of sightseeing. And if you are an art lover as I am, it is the place for you! Very quiet for central location!

This probably is BnB perfection. The owners were very friendly. The historical building was well preserved and furnished in an authentic and tasteful way. This is a rare and pleasant find in Belgium. Many thanks!

This is a beautiful old home recently renovated (2014 I believe) as a charming and comfortable B&B. Owners Christof and Anika are wonderful helpful people and we enjoyed our opportunities to visit with them. Breakfasts were great. While eggs were available I was inclined toward the fresh bread and croissants, various cheese and meets, yogurt and meuseli, and fruit. While they always have coffee available, they also have excellent decaf, something I require. They have both a comfortable guest lounge as well as a large upper floor deck. Our room was clean, new feeling, comfortable and spacious. While they are well situated they are not right downtown in the historical tourist district making for quiet restful night's sleep. I will certainly stay there again if I return to Ghent.

we had booked spontaneously and had a very comfortable night in one of the suites. Annik spoiled us with delicious cake and a sumptuous breakfast. No wishes remained unfulfilled and we will surely come back more often. Price-performance is just right, as is the great interior! We are enchanted!

A real find!! Stayed 3 nights at the Ganda. Annik was an exceptional host and put a real personal touch on my stay. The rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom modern with a hot shower. The breakfast is excellent with a wide continental selection and cooked eggs and bacon prepared by Annik. Annik also provided Gluten free bread every morning. Highly recommended.

At first, the property did not impress. But everyone in our group felt that the property grew on them. The rooms are spacious with nice private bathrooms. The weather was hot during our stay—the host was responsive and brought over a fan. The made-to-order breakfast was excellent, with just baked breads, eggs made to order, and many other selections. Parking is a problem.

A great place to spend a few nights in Ghent. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay at this cosy hotel. The room, the building and the hosts were great. The breakfast was plenty of homemade dishes and they were very good. We warmly recommend this place !

We lived a mosquito/ or bed bug problem. I was never sure since we were bitten at night. The only place in Ghent that we were bitten was there not even when sitting near the water. Our room was never cleaned or offered fresh towels until the last day. I think because the owners left their son in charge during our stay. If you write a bad review they will respond very bitterly. Instead they should hear what you say and respectfully respond. I don't recommend staying here.

Ganda is a charming older home with recent renovations offering a luxurious shower, high ceilings, and beautiful patio/decks on every floor. it's extremely convenient to the entire city of Gent and Annik and Kristof do everything possible to make your stay easy and comfortable. Annik also provided lovely recommendations including to a local cafe Valeir. Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Gent.

I’ve stayed here three times now and it is just my favourite place to stay in Gent. Super central location and yet on a quiet street. Rooms are huge and well appointed, two with access to a small courtyard downstairs. Start (or end) your evening having a beer on their beautiful rooftop terrace. Annik and Kristof make this place feel like home and it is always hard to leave!

Looks great on paper but the smug and condescending attitude I received when trying cancel a reservation was so disappointing. I called and emailed this afternoon because we have a small family emergency and in response our credit card was charged, invoice sent by email and then a one liner saying basically, no you can’t cancel. So I called to find out the reason and was told we violate their 48hr policy. It was 3pm and their checkin is apparently 2pm so we were 47hr ahead of time. Delivered very poorly, but technically correct and since we live locally, I might have asked if we could instead reschedule, but the man I spoke to was so irritating and abrasive I never got that far and hung up, mid way through a condescending explanation about how “I should respect their policy as if they were an airline”, yes, an airline, lol!!! maybe he takes pleasure in disappointing people, maybe he’s just miserable, but either way quite glad we won’t be going, I’d rather pay again to go elsewhere. Merry Christmas.
