Facing
the
canal
in
Northwestern
Ghent,
Treck
Hostel
is
a
re-purposed
brick
factory
which
has
been
transformed
into
a
vibsey
hostel,
where
guests
sleep
inside
in
cosy
caravans
set
in
large
open-plan
rooms.
Think
of
it
sort
of
as
indoor
camping,
therefore
without
the
inconviences
one
faces
with
conventional
outdoor
caravaning.
A
spacious
outdoor
brick
terrace
with
wall
art,
a
bar
with
a
broad
selection
of
beer,
free
breakfast,
it
is
what
a
hostel
should
be,
a
place
for
people
who
travel
to
meet
fellow
minded
people.
But
what
really
made
my
stay
were
the
staff,
Matilde
and
Eliot.
After
encounting
an
issue
with
my
card
whilst
booking,
Matilde
was
very
friendly
and
helpful
whilst
I
worked
on
remedying
the
situation,
which
was
rather
hasslesome,
I
got
there
in
the
end
and
celebrated
by
having
a
beer
or
two
with
the
staff.
Many
places
would
have
lacked
the
patience
or
caring
for
one
client,
but
not
the
Treck.
They
catered
me
with
exceptional
customer
service
skills,
and
turned
what
could
have
been
a
catastrophe
in
Ghent,
being
alone
with
no
money
and
no
where
to
stay,
into
a
great
night.
It
was
a
pleasure
staying
here
and
getting
to
know
you
guys!
