Aparthotel Castelnou is a hotel in Gent, Belgium. It is located at about 20 minutes walking distance from the city centre. Some rooms are big with kitchenette and a living room. Bathrooms are very small without windows, nor ventilation systems. No toiletries are available. We stayed for 5 nights and never changed the towels. Cleaning is not properly done: they.just pick up the garbage and move the sheets. The room floor is not cleaned every day. Parking is available upon reservation. Breakfast is.good.

Extremely rude staff, only the blonde girl at the reception is polite! The rest are a disgrace! They shout to you, call you a liar, do not help you and complain when needing to provide you a receipt! They also never even bother apologising to you! The cleaning? Absolutely disgusting! They move your things around and leave shoes on your clothes! Simply horrible! I have never witnessed something like this in my entire life! Especially on a business stay! The worst experience ever! Avoid by all means!

Met our needs, the rooms were big, comfortable and clean....value for money as long as you know what you are getting. The location was just outside the centre of Ghent and easy to walk to.

My two-month stay at Aparthotel Castelnou surpassed all expectations. The staff's exceptional hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere. The housekeeping team maintained impeccable cleanliness, respecting privacy with precision. The breakfast experience was a highlight, offering a diverse and delicious spread with fresh , high-quality ingredients. The recieptcionist address your concern without second thoughts especially Melissa and one more guy who are extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay at Castelnou, our apartment was absolutely perfect and the location was ideal, with only a short (15/20 mins) picturesque walk into the heart of Ghent. The apartment had everything we needed, beds were comfy and the shower was powerful - highly recommend!

Nice hotel with spacious rooms. It is not very far from city center. The breakfast though was really bad. If you have a chance not to take it - better to avoid.

Booked a trip for 6 people at this hotel over the Belgian public holiday (check before you book!!). I found out that many bars / restaurants would be closed so tried to cancel two days before we arrived. Trains are also reduced over this period of time. The booking I had allowed free cancellations up to three days before we were due to arrive. I found out two days before we were due to arrive that there was a public holiday (this was yesterday), so on the terms and conditions they are well within their rights to charge a cancellation fee. I contacted the hotel to cancel explaining the situation and the response was: “Good morning Mr. Xxxx Thank you for your message. On the 11th November, bars, restaurant, touristic attractions are open. The shops will be closed. Kind regards, Meliesa” There was no offer to cancel and no apology. They were also suggesting that things would be open despite me having no success booking any restaurants and being told over the phone that they would not be open due to the public holiday. I tried emailing again asking for them to consider reducing or waiving the cancellation fee, given I was only one day late. Once again, there was a very short email telling me that they would charge €180 per room. Terrible customer service. Yes they are within their terms and conditions and I get that, but the way this was communicated is woeful. I’d avoid.

Friendly team. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good restaurant. Good location, close to the city center but in the quiet neighborhood.

I just came back from Ghent and I cannot thank enough the entire team at Castelnou for making our stay again a great one! Great property, great location and great breakfast. Clean, efficient, and very close to the city center. Highly recommended.

Just recalled how lovely our stay was at this place. Great breakfast. Really practical room layout with all the facilities we could have wanted. The staff on reception knew the area and were able to recommend and direct us to places. My other half got ill on our day of check out and they were so kind in letting us stay several hours longer so we wouldn't have to wait around somewhere else less private (like a cafe or waiting room) for our return train journey. We had a really nice time here

Nice comfortable hotel. In walking distance to the historic downtown of Gent, very convenient for travelling to many other cities (Bruges, Antwerp, coastline, ...) by train from Gent Dampoort station (12 minutes walk), convenient parking for the car. It was a very nice stay. (Stayed there August 2022)

The room was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. I felt very welcome on arrival and was told the best route into town and what to visit. I will 100% be back on my next trip to Belgium.

Fabulous start to our trip through Holland and Belgium. Twin room apartment with kitchenette. Easy walking distance of most old town. 15-20 minutes ramble. Great staff good food. Private parking so leave the car and walk. You'll feel better for it. G&J

Comfortable and clean middle of the road hotel with useful provision for home cooking. Good breakfast variety and restaurant menu was good but with limited veggie options. Remember to bring your own dishes sponge. The one complaint is selective daily cleaning, while beds and bathroom were cleaned tables and sinks were skipped.

Have been there twice as part of my official trips. Its located in a place where we will get buses frequently. The continental breakfast provided was good.The kitchen provided is suffice for preparing something real quick. Friendly staff with very few exceptions. Overall satisfied and would recommend to someone, especially if you are gonna stay for a week or more.

We have been coming to this hotel many times over the years when visiting family in Ghent. It kept working during the lockdown in 2020 and tried to offer a good service which wasn't easy then. It kept improving and to my biggest surprise the parking (booking required) now offers 4 charging stations installed for electric or hybrid plugin vehicles. It served my purpose driving en electric car. Mind you that you need an RFID card to activate the charging which is payable. The rooms are spacious and the apartments even more. All you need to be autonomous with its kitchenette. I can only highly recommend this facility.

I enjoyed staying at Aparthotel Castelnou. The apartment was big, clean and had all amenities you could need. After a nice ten minute stroll along the water you are in the city center of Ghent. The only downside was that breakfast was only served until 09:00 during the week and on Saturday.

They have super clean rooms and great breakfast. It was really nice to stay there. Staff is very kind and helpful. Very well located aparthotel. Totally recommended.
