Do not go to coffee shop here! Incredible bad service. I want to have coffee there and I asked the waitresses how does it works here? Around 5 pm First waitress: you can order at cashier andonly take away now. (unhappy face) After queuing, Second lady (barista I guess): Oh you can take a seat at the table we will take order from you. Me: I asked another lady but she said only take away now. So she told me to wait a second and walk to the first waitress whom I have talked to. Both of them come to me and said accordingly “you can not drink here now only take away” obviously, with unhappy faces! Really bad communication. I am not sure why they denied me to have a seat there even though there were available tables. Maybe because I am Asian? 😅😅

Pros: Very unique and interesting. At the very center of the old town. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Bed and room clean and comfortable. Cons: A daunting set of stairs up to the elevator before you get to reception. Murder with luggage. Lack of practical amenities. My room lacked a chair of any kind, a desk, table, safe, or mini fridge. Smaller than average room for the prices asked. Every inch of shelf space taken up with liquor, liquor, glasses or period-look do-dads. No room for traveler's things. If you are looking for a truly different hotel, or are really into cocktails, you will love it here. If you would like to sit somewhere other than the bed and have a cup of coffee, check your computer, or have a cool drink between touring rounds, you're out of luck--unless you upgrade (there might be a chair in the deluxe rooms. I don't know.) Whether it's a good value for money depends on what you value; uniqueness in style or practical amenities.

Nestled in the heart of Ghent, Belgium, De Post is a gem that seamlessly blends history, culture, and gastronomy to create an extraordinary dining experience. As a visitor, I was fortunate to discover this captivating establishment and was instantly enamoured by its charm. Housed in a meticulously restored former post office building, De Post exudes an ambiance that effortlessly combines old-world elegance with contemporary flair. The grandeur of the architecture, with its high ceilings, ornate details, and spacious interior, evokes a sense of nostalgia and wonder. It is a testament to the commitment of preserving the city's heritage while embracing modernity. The menu at De Post reflects the diversity and culinary finesse that Belgium is renowned for. From traditional Belgian classics to innovative creations, the restaurant caters to a wide range of palates. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing a harmonious blend of flavours, locally sourced ingredients, and impeccable presentation.

I live in Gent and sometimes buy here. I had a really disappointing experience at this store and I feel like I need to share it. My two-year-old daughter accidentally knocked over a mirror that wasn't attached to the wall, but thankfully it didn't break and she wasn't hurt. However, before we could even check on her, the manager came over and berated us for knocking over the mirror without even asking if my daughter was okay. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I understand that accidents happen, but the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone, and I hope the management takes steps to improve their customer service in the future.

This is what I consider a lost occasion to make a nice restoration for an historical building. It appear like a normal shop, with only a few interesting details. It couldn't be like this.

Gent is clearly a community worth visiting over and over due to its beauty, architecture and historial buildings. It is a clean community that is easy to navigate and has plenty of attractions for lovers of history, architecture or even Christian religion. There are many old churches - each one with its unique design and properly preserved.

Small but interesting shopping center. Only a few brands, but good quality, and in a wonderful old building. Was very happy to visit, disappointed that the wasn't a second floor. Mix of clothes and household goods.

A bit of a mix mash of everything. No real character, though the building looks amazing and the stores have very high quality products here, they don't really work together. Missed opportunity, imho.

The historic Post building of Ghent. Some shopping and an upscale hotel to find here, also an AH supermarket in the basement floor. Building is more interesting than the stores actually.

One of the impressive buildings to see at Korenmarkt is the early 20th century Post Office building (Post Plaza). The exterior is a blend of Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance features in what seems like an attempt to imitate some of the older guild houses along nearby Graslei. Today Post Plaza is open to the public as a shopping centre. You'll find a large first floor with a high ceiling and several businesses operating out of the same space, including Le Pain Quitidien. We stopped here for lunch during a recent day trip to Ghent from Bruges, finding this to be a good option for meal in the area. In the end, not critical sightseeing but a place worth having a look around for those with interest in architecture, admiring the may delightful buildings around the historic city centre.

(Translated by Google) Post Plaza ... I always have some mixed feelings because De Post has closed all its old post buildings in Ghent. First the building of the former South Station, then the old post building with the beautiful copper finish ... But it has to be said ... it is fun shopping. More fun than in most other shopping centers, you have a sense of space. Looks expensive and chic but the prices are very reasonable, slightly more expensive than Blokker, Casa etc. but the extra cost is usually justified by the offer. Nice cafeteria too, where you sometimes have to wait a long time.
