tl;dr: just try it! I took one look at the display and felt immediately compelled to go in and try something. Everything is so pretty! You can choose from a wide variety of flavors and chocolate types (milk, white, dark, etc). The one filled with passion fruit jam was nothing short of spectacular. The hardest part was not buying too much. We stumbled upon the shop not too long after arriving and hadn't eaten lunch yet. Sole regret: not trying the lemon flavor.

This was my wife and my fav chocolate shop while in Ghent. We ended up here on a chocolate tour and went back 2 more times for some goodies to take home. They ship to the USA so come holiday time I might be buying more for them to ship back to me. A very nice owner and her husband in the bottom floor making the chocolates.

Had tried a couple of chocolate shops across Brugge and Ghent - This is one of the best! Had tried their mix assortment box of twenty - best chocolates ever! The shop looks classy and their packaging is pretty cool too.

Please if you’re looking for GOOD belgian chocolate, do yourself a favor and stop here! This is the best chocolate I’ve had in Belgium, such good flavors, quality ingredients anddd you can see how they’re making the chocolates.

I have been told this is the best chocolaterie of Ghent, but I think personally it's not much better then a regular shop in the center of Ghent. Don't Gent me wrong, but I simply think the average quality is already high over here! All chocolates are home made at their own shop.

The shop was very beautiful inside. You really want to buy everything. It was also very well decorated for Christmas. It took a while to wait in the queue because they were packing all the things in Christmas packaging for the previous customers. Hot chocolate was not good on my opinion - it was way too sugary and lacked depth of cocoa flavour. They also offered only one option, without a possibility to select the chocolate type

Very fancy and not exorbitantly priced. 20 chocolates cost about €20. The receptionists at my hotel consider this to be the best chocolate shop in Gent.

During an evening walking tour, our guide stopped in front of this Chocolatier telling us it was the best in town. They happened to still be open, so of course I had to pop in and grab some Belgian chocolate. I bought 3 bars and some marzipan. The chocolate is wonderful and far superior to that we get in the US even compared to See's and Ethel M's.

In Ghent, It was raining, and I smelled of chocolate. I found a cute chocolate shop nearby. So I decided to walk into the shop. The atmosphere was really nice. The lady in the shop was very kind. I ordered hot chocolate, which is the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever tasted. There were so many fancy chocolates in there. It was a bit pricy, but the taste was so good. You're going to regret it if you don't buy it.

Only a few steps away from St. Bavo’s cathedral is the Chocolaterie Luc Van Hoorebeke. This small chocolate shop offers a wide variety of flavors in relatively standard shapes. We bought a box for €17.50 with pieces that we selected on our own. One of our friends bought a prepackaged box to take back home and found that cost more than we’d paid for the ones we selected ourselves. The shop also had other sweets available for sale. We were there on a weekend and there was only one person working, which meant there was a queue. As this place is popular, expect a wait. Definitely worth a visit when in Ghent as Belgian chocolate is above the rest!

my partner and i were mind blown by how tasty the chocolate was. We had caramel white chocolate and it was just heavenly delicious. it is a bit pricey for sure but i’d say it’s worth it to try it out!

just tasted the hot chocolate, it was too sweet and echo many of the comments here that the staff or the atmosphere does not make you have the feeling that you are welcomed

This was my favourite chocolate I tried in Belgium! They have very unique flavours and the premade gift boxes are beautifully packaged. I went at the end of the day before closing so there was no queue and the staff was very friendly. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Best chocolate in Gent! It is a chocolate journey when you enter the beautiful shop. The owner and creator has some amazing skills!

Long story short, we went to a ton of places for chocolate- most places had tasty chocolates with standard flavors but the “unique” flavors left something to be desired. This place really nailed everything, even the more unique flavors. Good textures, smooth, excellent chocolate

This chocolatier does not live up to the hype. We did a search for all the chocolatiers in Gent and found others provided far better service and nicer chocolates. As a dark chocolate fan I was disappointed to find that Van Hoorebeke chocolate seemed to be loaded with sugar making it really sweet. I won’t bother again.

The best chocolates I had, very varied flavor and great quality. The staff was very friendly and shop was really pretty.
