the booking system for the seats is very backward and not practical at all. Students book all the places very early on, and it becomes impossible to find a spot to study not because there are no free places inside, actually there are many free physical places that are physically not occupied, but because those smart students SPAM the system. So you end up not being able to study in the library as you used to a few years ago. And the library ends up being half full half empty. Make a smarter online booking system by detecting the SPAM students. Think about it a little bit.....

Novel architecture. There are sometimes exhibitions here. Moreover, I think it is a mixture of library and community center in Ghent since there are many meaningful events held here which are welcome to any age. There are also included a nice cafe. The amazing view at 3rd reading room is a must-see in Ghent.

A wonderful library. The building's exterior is iconic and the interior offers many different spaces for studying, working, reading, relaxing, and having a coffee. Touch screens at the ends of bookshelves give you a fun way to browse and sort through the library's collection. The reading room on the third floor has a beautiful view of Ghent. Plus they frequently have small exhibits around the library that are nice to see. I like to stop by here when I'm in the area or come for a few hours and get some work done.

A beautiful library, with everything you can hope for. There are several floors and alot of places to sit and study. I totally recommend, only thing to keep in mind is that you have to book to get a study spot. I went there without this knowledge and managed to book while there but I did not get to sit next to my friend since it was so full.

An incredibly cool space! They have everything you expect from a library plus a piano with headphones, a private film viewing tent, a 3D printed map of the city with landmarks that light up when you push on buttons with their names. They have cool pillows where you can lounge on the stairs. And they have quiet work spaces. If you're travelling, stop here to charge your phone at the 3rd floor study area, visit the restrooms indicated by pictures near the elevators/lifts, and plan your trip with the 3D map. Libraries like this are a neglected treasure!

Gent's largest and main city library. For families with young children and teens this library is excellent. There is a student study area on the top floor, a café, and event rooms.

Super interesting place! Modern and comfortable. We visited it with kids and we enjoyed the library so much. The kids section was so nice that we spent a lot of time there playing and having fun.

Good, as a free property and service. It’s clean and organised. The café staff are really friendly. Library employees though are less considerate than the visitors. Would be good if the 3rd floor employees don’t wear high heels and run around every 15 minutes…

Wonderful service helping me understand an UitPas and getting a library card. The attendant explained everything in detail and helped me feel welcome to the city. I wish I had caught her name to thank her personally. Library is modern and beautiful with lots of resources for people finding their way here.
