Hotel is not properly maintained. Maybe not enough staff, maybe the one there is not motivated. Not my business to run, but if you continue to manage it like this the future is not so bright. First time i am experiencing such a big queue for check in. The timing is late, and you might thing okay at least the room would be ready if you wait until 3pm, but surprise... its not. So more people need to be there available to check in guests, and more people need to be employed to maintain proper hygiene. My room was not cleaned and it lacked basic toiletries. Not to mention the misleading photos at booking.com, where a scenic city view is displayed but what you get is a view od the opposite building. If normal circumstances, you could ask for a new room but remember the crowded lobby. I would not like to spend other peoples time and make scenes, when obviously this is an issue that is not resolved quickly. Nevertheless tourists need to avoid this hotel, if you do better research in the reviews you will see a pattern during busy times, holidays this hotel always face the same issues and they do nothing to try and resolve them.

The hotel was great! Perfect location, comfortable, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. There was not phone in the room to contact reception, so when I needed something I had to go down to the reception on person. Also the luggage room is automatic (and cost money), which was not so convenient. The machine is slow and difficult to function.

This hotel is located literally in the city center, walking distance from everything. There’s many stores and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was very clean, same with our room, and our bed was SUPER comfortable! The only kind of negative thing is how small and tight the room bathroom is, but we didn’t mind it. Their breakfast is simple, but good. The staff were all very friendly from the moment we first walked in to the moment we left and the check in was very fast, too. We immediately felt welcomed! There’s also a parking garage a short walking distance from the hotel. We only stayed one night, but we had an overall pleasant experience and would certainly stay there again. Highly recommend this hotel for short stays.

Amazing location, right in the city center with everything nearby. The room was good. The front desk was friendly and fast. The breakfast was just okay. Coffee and tea was available in the lobby and not complimentary weirdly enough. There is public parking nearby. I would have given this place 3.5 stars if possible, but because of the excellent location I think it's fair to round it up to 4 stars.

The location is spot on: literally in the centre of the city and a 10-15 minute walk from all attractions. It’s an easy 8 minute tram ride into the city. Spotless room, excellent Wifi. Outlets by the side of the bed. Really like there are no key cards but a code to enter the room. Quiet street at night as well and quiet hotel. Cons: It’s a tiny room but adequate. The reception is… terse at best. Not the warmest but also not unfriendly. The sparkling water station was not fixed the entire stay there even tho I remarked to the front desk about it. The front desk staff definitely does a fair amount of time smoking outside when not at the front desk.

Please offer some takeaway paper cups next to the coffee machine at breakfast!! There were NO vegetables (like tomatoes and/or cucumber, salad etc) at breakfast.. Center Parking just 100m away, good pricing. Quite close to everything central. Good bed, quiet rest. Good shower. The sink space is quite tight..no place to store anything, could barely find a place for the toothbrush and paste. Interesting there are no keys/cards to access the rooms - just pincodes. Mine stopped working the second day of my stay and had to walk back downstairs to get another one. The breakfast food is delicious and of good quality although quite limited in variety.

Very nice hotel. Looked very beautiful inside, the rooms were exactly like in the pictures. The room was quite clean. The door on the shower couldn't be closed. Not that many towels. The location was excellent: very close to the objectives that I wanted to see. Lots of nice restaurants in the area.

A very enjoyable stay in a comfortable attractive room. The bathroom was one of the best we have stayed in, with an excellent shower! We liked the idea of the room not being cleaned daily and and receiving a little voucher in return, but the floor should have been cleaner on arrival. A small set of drawers for small items of clothing would have been nice. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty! Thank you!

This is my second time at B&B, the location is simply perfect, so central but yet calm. The staff is amazing, the hotel is pet friendly, and the rooms are comfortable... The pressure of the showers is not that great, but honestly, this downside is easily overcome by all the other great points of the hotel. This time we had an emergency situation, where my mom was hospitalized for a couple of hours on our very last day. The staff was very kind offering us a late check out to ensure she could rest a bit more. This is definitely a place you want to go if you wanna feel welcome and seen!

Excellent bed and breakfast, better than expected. Spacious, clean and modern room. Great breakfast, lots of options. Super well located, in the middle of the city center, within walking distance of all the sights. Very helpful staff too. The air conditioning didn't work very well, I was there in April so it wasn't a big problem. But if you go in the summer months make sure you can control the air conditioning to make it cooler.

  • 1/5 J F. 9 months ago on Google
The hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly. The problem is the air conditioning and general air ventilation which apparently cannot be shut off. There is a temperature control of +/- 3°c which works, but there is no way to shut off the ventilation which is akin to sleeping next to a 747 reactor. If you like loud white noise while you sleep, you will be fine in this hotel. But if you are like me and require relative peace and quiet, you will be miserable here. I asked the manager if there was any way to shut the ventilation off because it is virtually impossible to sleep. He responded that there was no way, because the law required air to flow through all the rooms. I somehow doubt this was true. I spent my stay visiting a friend in hospital and there was zero airflow in her hospital room. In fact, her entire hospital was warm and stuffy. So the laws would be different in hospitals than in hotels? Again. Great hotel, but for me, zero sleep. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is a nice modern hotel in the city center. Easy access, clean, luminous, the breakfast is in a nice mezzanine over the reception. Would stay again. Note that the city center has several quirky hotels in old buildings. This is not it, this is a full renovated hotel .

Room was clean, tidy, modern and fitted our needs perfectly. Good shower. Bed was very comfortable. Excellent location in the retail area of the City. Lots of cafes close by. Staff were friendly, informative and helpful when required. Would recommend this B&B as place to stay and as a base to explore the City.

Great hotel in a great location. The room was spacious and comfortable, it had everything we needed for a good stay. Super close to the centre of Gent. The staff were lovely and there is complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby area. Would definitely recommend this place and would return!

Our family of 4 stayed in a quadruple room. The room was clean, bright, and spacious. The hotel is well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment is that parking was not on the premises, nor was it included in the price. When it was listed as an amenity, we thought it was available through the hotel either by voucher or on site. Despite that, I would stay here again if we return to Ghent. Love this town. Great hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and found it just right for what we needed. Location is absolutely perfect, quiet rooms and has all the necessities. Staff were lovely and helpful. We found the room we stayed in was a great size and had a nice view out the window. We would definitely stay here again for a small trip away!

Beautiful little hotel located just 5 minutes' walk from all the sights in the historic centre of Ghent. The room was spacious, we had an executive room with a king-sized bed with crisp white sheets. It was the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced in a hotel. Unfortunately there was no view, but really not important to us. Reception service was perfect. The only reason we I didn't give 5 stars for overall service was that room attendants didn't replace an empty shampoo and a cracked and empty conditioner. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nice clean and modern. Located very close to city center area. Nice and quiet side street. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Exceedingly clean rooms. It's a bit of a long walk from the train station, but the #1 streetcar will get you back and forth quite easily.

We selected this hotel for the perfect location close to Capitol and city center. Only a few 100m for each. The reception was very friendly. The rooms clean and quiet. The breakfast served all you could wish however the room was rather small for the number of people.

  • 5/5 Belen A. 1 year ago on Google
Very good location and the staff are helpful and excellent. Would opt for an executive room next time as the standard are very small for triple and could do with extra pillow as they only give one each. Breakfast excellent. Will recommend and stay again next trip.

Good location for exploring the lovely city of Ghent. Very comfortable bed and room was very quiet. Lovely view of the city skyline from our room. Fresh coffee in reception was appreciated! Breakfast was a good selection without being over the top. We booked an extra night as we liked the city and the hotel was so comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We have used B and B hotels for years in France but this was the best one yet! Extremely clean, quiet, modern and comfortable with lovely views across Gent. We only had a couple of hours to explore but everything was within walking distance.. There was a good selection at breakfast, the staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The only problem we encountered was the parking. We had a roof box and our car did not fit in the recommended car park. We spent a lot of time searching for one and ended up parking 16mins away(by foot) at Parking St Peter's Square. Great car park and only 8 euros for the night.

It was a nice surprise. The welcoming and the day to day contact with the hotel staff was really nice. For stays in the summer it is for sure one of the best option in Ghent. The hotel also allows pets, which is great. There were some minor issues, like one of the plugs near the bed was not working at all. Besides that, I recommend the place very much.

A clean modern hotel right in the middle of the old city of Ghent- only minutes walk from everything. Clean comfortable room, welcoming staff. Easy parking, 50 meters away around the corner. Coffee in reception and a good breakfast. Booked 2 nights but stayed another night as we were enjoying our stay.

I traveled with my elderly parents who had mobility issues. This staff went above and beyond to help with their needs. They were extremely helpful, always available, and great at problem-solving. In addition to the really central location, the staff and the little amenities (free coffee and water in the reception area) made a small but noticeable difference.

Paid €105 per night for a few nights, for what should be about €72 worth of quality/space/value for money. Room, sheets and towels were clean. Room had a nice view. Church bells very loud and frequent outside, but you get that in the area. Air-conditioning was unnecessarily complicated and would randomly turn itself off a few times per day, though it worked fairly well but only got the room to about 22C on maximum cooling, not as cold as we like it (19C). Minimal bedroom space for suitcases. Rooms feel cramped. Bathroom was small but fine. Minimal bathroom counter space and zero space/shelves in the shower for your face wash/shampoo/conditioner/razor. Shower is smallest acceptable size and has built-in liquid body wash which is nice as a bare minimum. Check-in and check-out was very easy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Free luggage storage and also paid lockers in there but very expensive for the paid lockers (twice as much as they should be) but they do take tap-card payment so that's a plus. This place is much better value for money and better than an Ibis Hotel, and we would probably stay here again, but wish the rooms were bigger or cheaper.

Great place! The location is great, really in center of the city. The hotel is well designed, the rooms are clean and quiet, the breakfast was also good. All the receptionists were nice and welcoming, and very helpful when we needed. Would love to come back :)

The hotel was in a brilliant location and perfect for walking into the main squares or travelling further out of the centre by tram. We received a very warm welcome and the staff at the reception desk were very helpful throughout. The rooms weren’t huge but were ample for what we needed them for. The air con was brilliant too (and very well used as we arrived in 34°C weather)! The breakfast buffet wasn’t the largest but was still extremely varied and very tasty - the large selection of pastries were delicious. The room did get busy but everyone managed to get a seat. Staff were on-hand to bring out fresh food and clean up where needed. The only downsides (which weren’t huge issues for us) were that there was limited storage in the bathrooms and the floors could have been cleaned better. Whilst these issues were noticed, they didn’t impact on the quality of the stay. The mattresses were quite firm but the hotel was quiet which meant we all slept well. The cold water dispenser and free coffee in the foyer were also well used by us after a long day of exploring Ghent. Staff were able to provide us with a QR code linking to the best restaurants in the area which was very handy! Overall, we had a great time staying at B&B Hotel Gent Centrum and, should we return to lovely Ghent again, we would definitely return! Thank you B&B Hotels!! :)

The hotel is in a great location in Ghent. I was traveling with a friend and both of us felt safe going back to the hotel even at night. The beds were really comfortable. The hotel is nice & clean and everyone at the front desk were nice & helpful. Would definitely return here and recommend.

We stayed in a room facing courtyard that is reachable by taking another elevator. Not very complicated, and the room was indeed very quiet. I don‘t like that luggage lockers have to be paid for. I think hotel should provide free luggage storage before and after check in. A free token for the lockers is something the hotel might consider.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable with excellent services. The location is very close to the city centre in a beautiful neighborhood. They offered coffee, tea and water all day long in the hotel reception which is a very big extra for me. The only thing I would like to be different, is a bit larger room.

  • 5/5 MeiYee H. 4 months ago on Google
Overall is a good hotel. Strategic location. For baggage room, anyone can access the bags freely. If there can have little more control such as putting a tag on the luggage would be recommended. Or at least can use the key card to open the luggage room door.

  • 4/5 Martijn T. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is proper and clean and has a terrific location. Soundproofing of the room is great. The bathroom only had one glass (in a three person room). Only real drawback was the missing TV remote. There was no other way to operate the TV.

Nice location. Just a few walk away from Gent University and some stores. Receptionists are nice and friendly. Wifi is a bit weak in my room but all good for texting or WA. But not for zoom call. Room is big enough for 2 people. Bed is also comfortable. There is a coffee maker in the room. But I didn't use it. i think there was someone before me was using it and the used cup was still there. The room is warm enough and cozy.

Great and clean room, hotel was nice and had a nice rooftop terrace that you can use (just take your own drinks). the location is great in the hearth of the city center and there is public parking nearby for only 14€ a night. I found almost 100€ for one night a bit expensive for just one person and a room only a few inches larger than the bed.

  • 2/5 Jose Maria R. 2 years ago on Google
The room was supposed to be ready at 3p.m., but it wasn't. After lunch, we were tired and we wanted to rest in our room, but we were waiting untill 5p.m. before having the room ready. The girl who attended us told us that she couldn't give us the room if it wasn't ready, in a very rude tone. We went to Gent just for one day, and we wasted 2 hours waiting for our room, because we needed to have some rest after lunch, but we couldn't. We hoped at least any kind of compensation, a discount or getting the breakfast for free, but instead if it, we found a very rude recepcionist.

The hotel itself is of good quality and as advertised. My one complaint is about the parking. No mention until after you book that it's a (paid) public parking and be warned; the spaces are tiny and the parking is really busy.

  • 4/5 Sabine M. 2 years ago on Google
Great location, breakfast was very good, friendly reception. Family room was rather small for 4 persons and there was not enough space to put all our stuff, especially in the bathroom (a shelf would have been great).

Very nice hotel, reasonably priced. Amazing vieuw and location! Small things that would make a great difference: 1. there whas a problem with the shower handle. 2. It would be great if the lights in the bathroom where dimmeble. at night when you go to the toilet it's extremely bright!

Top location, you can't ask for more. Rooms were on they tiny side, although considering price and location I think the size was ok (just don't expect a big room). Equipment was basic, no water heater, o coffee cups, only beds and furniture. Front desk service was ok. It was a bit annoying that in two different days we left the door sign asking to clean up our room and it didn't get cleaned (we left at 9am, so it wasn't too late, for it).

  • 4/5 Norbert F. 2 years ago on Google
We received a very nice room with a good view. The room was not cleaned during our stay. When mentioning this upon check-out we were informed that we had to hang the sign outside the door in order to get the room cleaned. However, nobody told us during our stay.

  • 3/5 Susanna A. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is very basic and it's obvious that everything is done to cut the costs. The stairs were not cleaned while we were there from Friday to Sunday as we could see from some used tissues there the whole time. The staff was friendly but very busy. Also during breakfast there were not enough employees to look after the guests well; there was no cutlery some of the time, tables were not cleaned between users, coffee machine needed cleaning but nobody was available etc. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean although very small. The toilet paper holder was broken. There really was nothing to give us a 'wow' feeling while I know how simply that can be done.

A great option of a hotel. Staff is nice, everything is working, light room, modern furniture, all the needed facilities and great city view from last floor. You can walk from there anywhere at any time, wifi is great too. And if you book in advance, price is good as well. There are no tea spots or fridges in the room, but you can ask for hot water on reception.

Hi There Great hotel nice and modern in a great position for the center of Ghent . Room was clean and modern looking Breakfast was very nice. May be hot drinking facility's could be added to the rooms. Overall 9 out of 10

Great hotel within walking distance of all the cool parts of Gent's old town. It even has an umbrella rental thing that I found very useful. Extra nice experience as we arrived specially late due (around 1am) due to a tight schedule and a mistake when catching the train. This was not an issue and we were kindly treated and given the room without problems. Exactly what you need after a tough day. Shout out to their great staff!

Very good price / performance ratio. Nice & clean rooms (with huge bathroom), very friendly staff and a good breakfast. Absolutely to recommend.

  • 5/5 Mirta Stublija F. 1 year ago on Google
Great hotel in the center of Gent. Fair price. Helpful and nice staff. Breakfast is good. Location is wonderful. On 3rd floor there is a large terrace with tables and chairs for smokers. Only minuses are that terrace has no roof (in case of rain you don't have a nice spot to smoke), coffee machines often get disfunctional and rooms are a little bit too small. But all in all, it was very good.

Unfortunately I didn’t make any pictures as I usually do. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. Mattresses were a bit too hard for me, but that’s something very personal and varies from person to person. Location is really amazing, very close to the beautiful and magical center of Gent. I’m giving 4 stars because the breakfast was quite messy, when we got the to the eating room, a lot of tables were dirty, there was no staff at the moment to clean it, so me and also other people that were there had to clean the tables ourselves in order to be able to get a sit, after few minutes staff came to the room and started cleaning, also there was not checking at the moment of entering the eating room, so it could be quite unfair for us to paid extra for the breakfast knowing anyone could just entered, having paid or not. Breakfast can be improved, maybe adding some breakfast veggies, there were also no fruits, so it’s always good to offer some.

Myself and a group of friends were coming to Gent for a couple of nights and I needed to find accommodation for us. Available budgets were mixed so I needed something inexpensive but also fairly nice (I don't like staying in hotels like Travelodge or Premier Inn in the UK). It's fair to say that B&B Gent Centrum met our requirements. Not only was the price excellent but the hotel itself was modern and spotlessly clean. The service received from the staff upon check in was also superb. A member of the group had dropped out, so we wanted to change a twin room to a double. This was no issue at all and the room was changed accordingly. Location wise, also superb. I've stayed in Antwerp a few times and finding a cheap but modern hotel in the old town is quite difficult there. Most of the better places are in the new town but I prefer to be immersed in the typical old style buildings. B&B Gent is surrounded by the old style buildings, cobbled streets and tram routes, and is therefore perfectly placed for a trip. The only thing we didn't do was eat at the hotel. We chose to eat out and ate at Oats Day Long each morning... Well worth a look.

A great choice for business travellers with a perfect central location, good facilities, good WiFi, very clean and maintained to a high standard. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet well stocked and relaxed although there are great food choices nearby for breakfast and beyond. Ghent is great for eating out with good veggie choices too.

Fantastic location and new rooms. We had a balcony view out to the old town and it's right in the center. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall I liked the hotel it matched my expectations, and I will continue to look at B&B hotels when travelling. Good -Free hot drinks machine in the reception area. - Central location. Not so good - Could not check in until 15.00 even though my booking said 14.00. - Had to pay to use lockers to store our luggage. Never ever had this in a hotel before!

The location is excellent, it's very much in the center, you got everything you want in walking distance. At the time of my stay the heating was broken, resulting in sleeping in a 27 degrees room while it was 14 degrees outside, not very pleasant. The staff couldn't do much about it either besides suggesting to open the window. The bed is very comfortable, so is the blanket and pillows. There is also a flatscreen tv available where you can easily stream Netflix or other streaming services from your phone onto. The bed was also clean. The bathroom also looked clean, the shower however was not very nice, the water pressure was a bit underwhelming.

WHAT A HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE!!! first let me start with THE ONLY good thing, which is the location of the hotel, very close to center, HOWEVER, THE SERVICE IS UNPROFESSIONAL to the max, very rude clerk, if you want to keep ur bags in the hotel they will charge you for cabins that can only fit one medium size bag and the rest you keep in a room without any security cameras whatsoever, IN ADDITION, the smell of the breakfast area was stinking disgusting and the bathrooms there(1st floor) were soooooo dirty and smelly like I almost puked. TO TOP THINGS OFF there isn't a phone in your room to call and ask for assistance and we needed extra towels (we had 1 big tower and 3 small ones already) and we were two people and when I went OUT of my room to ask for ONLY ONE extra big towel so I can shower they had the audacity to ask why I want it when they already gave me one!!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE experience !!!! And trust me when I was walking around town there were so many hotels with an even better location!! So save ur money or even pay a little bit extra but definitely choose another one.

A great hotel in the heart of Ghent! Clean, spacious rooms, perfect location with only a min walk to the main city attractions. Highly recommend!

  • 4/5 Toma G. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel has a great location. It is easy to find and within walking distance from almost all of the attractions in the center. The staff is friendly and you can get free coffee and tea from the lobby. The rooms are clean, but rather tiny. Also, there is no minibar or small fridge in the room. Even though our room was on the first floor and the street in front of the hotel was quite busy at times, we almost heard no outside noise. All in all, it is a good hotel for a couple of nights, but I would not book it for anything longer than a weekend.

  • 4/5 Ray P. 1 year ago on Google
Good location only a short walk from the city centre. Not the most luxurious of hotels but the room price (including breakfast) was very competitive compared with other hotels close to the centre. Public areas were clean and well decorated, our room was a good size with a super king bed, en suite facilities, television and tea and coffee making. Breakfast was included in the room price and offered hot and cold options, more than adequate to start your day. Staff regularly cleaned tables and restocked the breakfast bar. Would be my first choice the next that I visit Gent.
