Authentic asam laksa. Wonderful desserts and crispy fried popiah. Warm service from the owner. Clean restaurant. Will come here for everything again and again.

Very hungry and wanting noodles. This place is an absolute delight! Run by the loveliest couple too. I ordered laksa with 2 fish balls and it came packed with deliciousness! The speciality are the desserts - these are ones made by the lady to her own design. Try the fruit one with ice cream - magic in your mouth with explosions of flavour!

Here's a few things that makes this place perfect. 1. Laksa is great and value for money. It's RM6 and comes in a huge bowl and you can even see the fish and pineapple as well as bunga kantan! 2. The Popiah is only fried when you place your order and not before. You get it piping hot!!! 3. The place is super clean. So are the toilets. 4. The shop owners take the trouble to keep on asking you if it's good and whether they can improve their laksa further. This shows they care for the food! 5. The shop owners serve their food sincerely and with great pride. I don't know how to put it but eating there with people who take great care in their food shows that they love their food above profits. 6.Its the only place that I know that scores 4.9 on Google review for Penang Laksa okay. If this doesn't tell you something, I don't know what else to say. 7. After what my wife and I had or two bowls of laksa, 8 Popiahs and coconut ice cream and nutmeg juice, we "tapau" 3 packets of laksa home for the family! 😝

The most unassuming place to have a perfectly balanced bowl of Assam laksa .. drank till the last drop of soup. Not stingy on the ingredient the soup was light but its so FULL of flavor, the prawn paste they gave was the undiluted kind thats why dont need much. Run by two elderly couple, uncle is always smiley and he makes good old black coffee. Highly recommended if you enjoy the old school shop front no fancy dining.

Okay, where should I start? This small restaurant is clean, the foods are great, and the owners (an old couple) are very lovely. Went there and tried a lot of their menus. Asam laksa: good one, I personally prefer Laksa Sarawak and do not really put high score towards asam/acid food. So, this one did not really impress me although it did not disappoint too. Ais kacang: a very proper ais kacang with a beautiful preparation, this is what we were searching for in our trip to Malaysia. Ais krim kelapa: amazing stuff, the delivery is very unique with a batok kelapa (what is the english term for it? hahaha). When you mix the ais krim with the coconut water, damn that's good! Po pia: THE STAR OF THE SHOW! YOU MUST TRY THIS!!!

Mollie's might just be the best Asam Laksa I've ever tasted in Penang, ever. It is such a gem for Asam Laksa and desserts, and the elderly couple running the shop is so sweet and so kind. The shop is well kept and maintained and very clean. Forget about going to Air Itam for Laksa. Mollie's is the place to go! We came here after visiting another more crowded establishment on Penang Road, and I wasn't sure if I'd have the stomach space for another bowl of Laksa. But seeing the praiseworthy reviews and how tempting the fish balls looked, I caved and ordered the Laksa with fish balls. Within 5 minutes, the steaming bowl of laksa was served and my eyes widened in wonder and my mouth watered at how perfect the Asam Laksa looked. But boy oh boy, did it taste good too. Fish balls, incredibly chewy and fresh. Broth is just right, the perfect combination of sour and sweet. What surprised me the most was to find whole slices of mackerel in the Laksa. I've never seen this elsewhere. This was absolutely brilliant. We also ordered 2 pcs of the popiah. The lady offered us a fresh hot bowl of Asam broth as dipping sauce for the crispy popiah. She was touting it as a good combination and she definitely wasn't wrong. Last but not least, dessert. We ordered the ais krim kelapa (coconut ice cream), which was served in a coconut shell with coconut meat shreds and a glass of coconut juice on the side. So so good and so refreshing on a hot day!

Our 1st time here & we were blown away by their signature Asam Laksa!!! Very generous bowl with lots of ingredients for $6. Their thick white noodles were unlike others, very smooth & chewy...love it. The $6 coconut ice cream was absolutely delicious, very natural taste yet soooo refreshing...comes with a glass of coconut juice! Their crispy hot fried popiah were amazing as well 😋

Hunting for a better laksa and I found it! Its wayyyy better than Gurney drive or other locations laksa around here. Their fruit platter is awesome, popia, and ice kacang! If anyone looking for a great laksa and desert, look no further 😉🤗 Thank you to the Aunty and Uncle! Keep up the good work, may god bless you and your yummy food

We tried the laksa based on online reviews and were very satisfied. The laksa broth is amazing - maybe slightly sweeter than some versions. The fish balls are some of the freshest and tastiest I’ve had. The fried popiah is ok, I’d skip that for another bowl of fishballs. The elderly couple who cook everything with love are really friendly. So nice to see genuine passion for their food and a willingness to talk with customers. You can’t go wrong here

It is out of this world. Best Assam Laksa within my trip in Penang. Tangy, fresh and filling! Dessert is a must try and the spring rolls are fresh to order;fry on the spot. Crispy! Inside dining is cooling with light air-conditioning with plenty of seats. Aunty and uncle are so happy to serve their customers! Awesome once again!

My recent visit to this hidden gem left such a lasting impression that I couldn't resist ordering five more packets of their exquisite Assam Laksa for takeaway to Kuala Lumpur! This hidden gem offers an unforgettable dining experience that encompasses heavenly Assam Laksa, divine homemade fishballs, and irresistible ice kacang. The Assam Laksa boasts a perfect balance of tangy fish-based broth and fragrant spices, while the homemade fishballs melt in your mouth with their tender goodness. The ice kacang dessert is a refreshing masterpiece, beautifully combining flavors and textures. Adding to the charm is the warm hospitality of the friendly elderly couple who own the place. Their personalized service creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of their family. This establishment deserves every star for their exceptional food, delightful desserts, and heartfelt hospitality. What are you waiting for now? Come and try it for yourself! :)

Such a good asam laksa place with great portion. The lovely aunty and uncle even offered to refill the soup. Recommend that you add the fishballs! The dessert after is such a treat after a long hot day.

We were in the mood for some laksa and ais kacang and we found this place which has both under 1 roof! This place is run by the friendliest couple serving some of the tastiest food I've had during the entire stay in Penang. Everything we tried was exploded with flavor even though you would think they are simple dishes you could probably find anywhere else. They exceeded my expectations and there was not a single drop left in the bowl. I think the reason why the food tasted extra good is because the owners are very caring, friendly, and actually wanted to get to know about our travels. The good conversation along with good food made the experience that much better! We will definitely be back if we are ever back in Penang!

The best meal we had on our Penang trip. Asam laksa was so layered and flavourful and ice ball was so nostalgic for my dad to eat again. Mollie and her husband are incredibly passionate about their craft. so glad to have found this place

Really delicious! We had ais kacang and when we asked for sugar to be separated from the ais, they provided four types of syrup for us! Really enjoy it, and both owners were so friendly~ Haven’t tried the laksa yet, will come again next time!

i must share this laksa to everyone as it tastes so original and sooooo good! the laksa is tempting, plsss try their fish balls (a special fish ball specially for laksa only which you could taste it nowhere)! not to say their nice mixed fruit icee, sooooooooooo big and nice! The price is so affordable until me and my friend start worrying if the owner has earned any ! will definitely in my penang food list now!

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
