Despite all those unavailable menu's food and the sweets tastes fairly good but sometimes all this taste doesn't make justice for the restaurant to be the best. Customer service is very important! There's only like 2 family sitting but we waited 15 minutes unattended. Please take care of customer service and the restaurant will sustain with it's good name.

Had breakfast here around 10ish with total customers in the shop were 4 people and all their staffs are busy by doing chit chatting with other people and have to wait till they finish talking, Then only want to come and do their job. I think that will gives you the idea of customer services they provide. Well in regards of food, oh lord please help me: 1) Thosai were tasteless and hard 2) Poori side dish ie: potato were tasteless and not cooked properly 3) tea were meh. 4) the sweets were in okay category. Can't distinguished much the difference between the sweets. All taste same even though stated as different flavours. Overall: Can try this shop if there is no other shop is available and you were in dying state to eat.

Delicious Thali served on a banana leaf plate and Tarik Masala Chai 💚 We were around 3:30/4pm and there were not many people! So the was not atmosphere so to say. However, every now and then someone came for their sweets 👀

Alright tasting sweets, taste differs on days. Sometimes can be too sweet. The price suits the quality. Service could be improved. While taking away laddu (which was hot) and palkova (which was cold) ;Cashier put them together and we asked her to separate it and she got angry & raised her voice instantly without an apology . I don’t think it was necessary for a small mistake. Anyways, the service definitely needs to be improved

Very limited option but over priced. Just for 3 types of side dish (brinjal, kurma gravy and ladies finger) was priced RM 13. The cashier tore the itemised receipt and just gave me the total amount at the bottom so that he can cheat on the price. Attention to the business owner: Your workers are jeopardising your business.

Indian desserts galore. Came in to get some snacks for tea time. The laddu and nei urundai (ghee balls) is perfect. Not too dry and not too sweet but yet pack a punch in flavours. The staff recommended the new flavour blueberry and I can taste the sweet berry flavour. A modern twist and ingredient for a traditional dessert. Will come back again.

Great spot for a quick and nice lunch. Really recommend the Thali. It was not too spicy and really good. The restaurant is not that ✨aesthetically pleasing✨ but good enough for a quick bite so you can continue your stroll. Also, little india is really nice and fun to walk through.

Worst service ever! We ordered Poori set and they took the order but didn't serve us until the end. After paying the bill, we noticed they double charged us for food which we didn't order. On top of that we ordered their sweets at least 30 mins before and told them we to pack it first, we will pay and collect after dining out. Until the end they didnt pack it and we had to wait in a queue even after paying the bill. When we asked for refund of food we didnt pay, and the sweets to be packed, they started packing the sweets very harshly and cashier was showing face. Seriously bad customer service, even drinks took so long to arrive!

NR sweets are favourite especially their Mysore pak and ladoos. Their Thali set tasted good. However the donut was very hard and doughy. Not so fresh.

The services provided by the staff is extremely bad. No customer service at all. Doing their duties very slow. Queued up just to pay for my takeaway food tooked me abt 10 minutes at the cashier. Every single time dropped by the shop, the cashier will have short of changed and whatsoever. Srsly do something. Will definitely recommend tourists to visit here. This will be my last purchase at this shop.

Simple clean shop with good food and sweeties. Air conditioning. Parking is a problem. However Council Parking Complex is nearby, chances good. One if the very good tosai rawa in town.

Lovely food but not entirely sure everything is vegan... For example we advised them we were vegan as per the signs around the restaurant... The guy still wasn't 100% sure what we meant. This led to us having a desert on our plate which was made from ghee. We had our eyes half shut eating all the dishes on our plate.. but we were told it was vegan. Really decent prices for nice food and portions.

The sweets are amazing, have never tried Indian sweets before but they tastes really good, as good as expensive chocolates. There is a wide range of sweets seemingly from traditional ones to those more modern. Reasonable prices from around 1-3RM a piece. Friendly service as well.

I've seen the reviews from most customers and it has been none less than average. To be honest, I've frequented your restaurant in the past and the food was good. But sadly, you guys deteriorated over the time and what I experienced today was shockingly unacceptable. Let me share what happened. I bought idlis from you around 7 today and brought it back to eat. You know what??The sambar was spoilt, the chutney was tasteless! How could you sell a spoilt food to a customer without noticing it? Don't your workers check the condition of the food you sell? Are you going to ask me to visit a psychiatrist as well? Buck up Thali-NR Sweets Cafe!!

Having just arrived in George Town, we went straight to Little India to get some food, NR Sweets was the first we stumbled upon that served vegetarian food, so we decided to give it a try. We shared a rice dish and a vegetarian Thali, with parutha. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything about the meal was fantastic and some of the best Indian food I have tried in Malaysia. The problem is, the staff do not care. They have little to no interest in the customers, they don't want to answer questions and if possible, speak at all. The atmosphere in the restaurant was actually quite good, in spite of the staff. We would have eaten here a lot more, had it been a more welcoming place.

I tried to get a meal there, but the kitchen was closed. It was another customer who told me that they have strict hours to where they serve breakfast and dinner. But before covid, i could go anytime of the day and get some kind of made-to-order food.... So i was shocked. I never really went for the sweets. Anyways, i took fresh apple juice and it was good. I suppose we should be glad they are still open. Many restaurants have closed down after the lockdowns....

Light crispy dosa served after 5pm. The currys were packed with flavour. During the day, they serve veggie currys with roti and/or rice, also great depth of flavour.

Excellent south Indian style Thali. Their lemon rice transports me back to South India! Everything changes daily, but in my experience, it's all delicious. Their sweet selection is also quite good.

Excellence Indian gourmet and sweets. There is an island stacked with wide arrays of Indian sweets that will melt your pallets. I usually visit Penang once a month so I do RM25-30 worth of take out sweets. Veggie foods are also on the menu as well. However, bear in mind the place is bustling with visitors so please don't be offended by the less courteous staffs.

Very bad service. I used to come here all the time before covid. But now, the food options are very limited and the food were tasteless. Even the self service water dispenser wasn't refilled. Everything we asked for from the menu, were either finished or not available. Will never go back 👎

Came here based on a recommendation of a friend, was totally disappointed with food. Ordered dosa and coffee. Chutney and sambar were watery and tasted bland. They just had just dosa, idli and poori for breakfast, no other items. Signs of staff shortage and vacancy are pasted all over the walls. May have been good place earlier but wouldn't recommend it for now. We were here on a Saturday at 10AM, and were the only table being served.

Food prices have become unreasonable. Today I had rice with 2 veges - lady’s finger & mixed vege ( beans, carrot , corn diced finely I think) cost RM9.00. And portions are small. Why so pricey?

The best thing about this shop is the indian sweet and savouries. The taste is really authentic 💗

  • 2/5 Thines D. 2 years ago on Google
Worst customer service. I understood the part where they are lack of workers at the time, but i believe they can do a proper management to serve better. We order drinks as we sat in a table provided. But then we choosed to walked away as the waiter took wrong order instead of dine-in, they packed their drink for take away. When asked for dine- in, they refused to unpacked their drink and serve. Such a bad service. Clearly how stupid it is, nobody sat together in table with family for take away..the waiters(girl in the counter) shows face when we called her asked about our drinks.. something really bad.. The only good thing about this restaurant is sweets that they have it here.. otherwise , nothing great..

Went back here as used to love their kothu paratha and paneer fried rice. Unfortunately their cooks couldn't come back due to covid. Kothu paratha was still good but tosai is just average. Had the masala dosa and vegetarian Nasi lemak after so many years. No fried stuff available. Both were good.

I came here to have dinner, and the staff is very2 lazy. Rice was available but they said rice was finished. I order a drink the drink maker guy asks us to sit down they will take the order, but no staff come and take the order for drinks. Very bad, we finished our food until no one come and ask for a drink. How do we know the rice is finished????? Ask your worker who opens the rice pot in front of me, as an owner you should ask the question to your worker, not to your customers. We are paying for our food and you are not even charged cheaper. Do you want me to capture your receipt and attached it here? I take rice, rasam 1 veggie, only 2 prices of tauhu in sambal, and a veggie chicken piece of 4, charged rm11.30????

The best vadai I had so far! It's crunchy and jam packed with loads of fillings. I like it that it's not oily as well. Totally keeping you satisfied and wanting for more at every bite! 😍

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
