Unfortunately we had things stolen from our hotel rooms here - headphones, over 100 USD and unwrapped Gucci perfume. The Gucci perfume we had purchased at duty free when we arrived and packed it at the bottom of our main bag once we arrived at the hotel. That bag did not leave the hotel during our stay, so there is no other place it could have gone missing/lost. The USD was also packed in the main bag, hidden in a compartment which had also not left the hotel. The headphones were used on the plane to get to Penang, and were kept in hand luggage. Once again, we did not take them out of the hotel at any point during our stay. We also noticed once we had left the hotel that pockets/zips (such as a handbag within the bag) that we do not use on our backpacks were open, suggesting someone had gone through them. I really appreciate that the hotel staff checked the CCTV, but it still does not rule out the housekeeping. If you do stay here, make sure you lock your items in the safe. We have filed a police report, so will hopefully be able to claim back through insurance.

We paid for one of the best rooms in the hotel but spend there only first night. We woke up being bitten by ants in our bed. When reported it in the morning to the reception desk, we were offered different room (cheaper), but no compensation has been offered for the first night spent with insects in our bed and no compensation for staying in worse room for the rest of our stay. That's not the way how the hotel should react.

Very happy with my stay. Staff were very helpful, clean rooms, great tv selection. I did get a smaller bed + I'm a big guy; so next time i'll go for a bigger size. Also, be careful of the hot pipe in the shower. I leaned back and got a burn from how hot that pipe was. Location was great. 1 road down from the main street / night food market. Go the other way, you're at the malls.

Comfy hotel, great experience! Do note the walls are kinda thin so could hear next door's TV sounds and sometimes traffic noises. Not an issue for me as i prefer some sound. Very convenient location, walking distance to everywhere! Lots of amazing food, bars and musuems in the area.

Comfortable stay here with my small family for 3 days 2 nights. Only two car park slot available in front of the hotel, first come first serve basis. Room is nice, bathroom (shower+toilet) nice too - my child enjoying shower in it. Nearby attractions (the Top KOMTAR, upside down museum, Armenian street) and good restaurants are walking distance from hotel.

Le Dream has become Le Nightmare. No hot water no rooftop no bar no jacuzzi no free flow drinks and snacks no fitness centre. The horror of reading that unpunctuated sentence is a preview of the nightmares to come. All these dreams were there amply and in totally delightful forms in 2018. In 2022, the dream is gone. Has something happened in the 4 years? Has it been decimated by Covid-19? Maybe they canā€™t afford the hot water bill? All good staff sacked and replaced with cheaper charlatans? Maybe. But if thatā€™s the case, then either close up shop or ensure the loss of these strong imaginings is fully disclosed ahead of time, so that we can all choose to not have nightmares while on holidays, as we actively seek and grow from them at other times.

Stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed the majority of it. I loved the lobby, shiny, modern and smelled great. Although I never went into the Michelin starred restaurant, it looked inviting from the outside. The room was spacious and I appreciated the wooden furniture. It's something you don't see often. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean Now, the only downside to my stay was the bathroom. Toilet needs an update. Flush button tends to get stuck, at times it would break through as you tried you push it to flush. I'd have to remove the lid to retrieve it several times. Toilet itself is not comfortable. 5 mins on and your legs will be feeling like pins and needles. It's a good way to get myself done within 5 mins of using but being on vacation, I don't see why I should. Faucet by the sink is also loose. Not a big deal but something worth mentioning. Shower was in good condition and water pressure was a pleasure. The rooftop was quite sad. It's a great feature but under-utilised. If there's an amazing restaurant downstairs and an afterparty was lined up, it would be wasted to be on the rooftop. If they could make it comfortable and stock it up properly, definitely a great addition to the establishment

Stayed there 3d2nights and manage to extend 1 more day due to too comfortable and love the hotel. I summarized the points as below : 1) Hotel staffs. Excellence and friendly. Even suggest you how to get cheaper price to book their hotel and explain to us nicely when we check in. Even the cleaner will smile and pass me the bottle water everyday. I feel like i am served emotionally and vip. 2) Parking- There are 2 free parking in front of the hotel, however, due to the unique location of the hotel, which is an hidden junction off the main road, therefore it has more parking spaces or easier to get parking than ANY other hotels out there. 3) Room condition - Clean, water heat power is superb. Most importantly is NO Noise from road side so i can sleep like a pig 4) Strategic location - a few walks over to Perangin mall and Kimberly street for delicious street food. Perfect to walk around the town. Sincerely hope the hotel could main the service and also improve of the roof bar to be more happening or make it more usefully with the available space. Thank you

Very nice hotel with rooftop bar. Rooms were modern and clean. Close to shopping centre, bus stops and walking distance for sightseeing. Perfect location for exploring Georgetown. Would definitely stay here again.

Poor. Dirty, unclean rooms, dust on chairs, stains by fridge, vents filthy, rooms need painting as they have areas with no paint and marks all over the walls, bed linen had stains. We didnā€™t expect a 5* hotel for the price we paid but this reviews led us to believe it would at least be a decent standard, unfortunately we were left very disappointed. We asked for our money back as we checked out almost immediately upon arrival only to be told it was non refundable. Standard of hotel is not a close reflection on the reviews we read & the poor customer service we received regarding a refund as we did not stay one night in the hotel is very alarming. Book with caution. If you value cleanliness avoid.

Need an email for contact information. Some of the rooms are next to a tyre fitting shop and this can be quite disturbing if one is late waking up. Rooms have poor phone reception. Dear admin: I have an issue with what Iā€™m sure is lying at your hotel by staff. Iā€™m confident you werenā€™t fully booked out except for 2 spare rooms when I arrived, and also Iā€™m confident you werenā€™t booked out of every room when I was leaving: you had stated that I canā€™t have a checkout at 1pm because someone was checking in to the exact room I was inā€¦ I donā€™t think you would treat your rooms differently and assign strictly each Booking to each specific room when theyā€™re the sameā€¦ also, if it was the case someone was checking in to the exact room I was staying in, and it couldnā€™t be changed (for some mysterious reason), why then wasnā€™t I notified of the item I had left behind in my room, which the cleaner would have picked up? If the room was to be clean before the new guest checked in at 3pm, the item shouldā€™ve been found and reported to me, I had left at 2:38pm the lobby and no one told me about my missing rubber red ball I had left behind (and some large stretchy rubber bands for exercise). I would say my room hadnā€™t been cleaned and someone wasnā€™t needing to check in to that exact room, rather than the cleaner or company withheld my items for their self. You should just say you donā€™t want to allow for a room change and/or you donā€™t want to allow for a later checkout. And if youā€™re telling the truth that you were fully booked out for the kind of room I was in, for someone checking in at 3pm, you should explain why you didnā€™t notify me of the items I had left behind.

Mixed feelings. Used to stay here couple years (itā€™s cool) and decide to revisit. 1. Staff - used to enthusiastic. Now new staff is below standard. 2. Rooftop - trash center. Use to be the attraction point but trashy now. 3. Gym - used to have but gone. Still advertise fitness center available.

I wish I could give 6 out of 5 stars or 11 out of 10 for this hotel. Location is very good , in walking distance to many shops and stores. Inside hotel is very clean and modern along with very friendly staffs. Nothing to complain about. Best of all, very reasonable price for this type of hotel.

Superb hotel. Everything are nice. Every staff are nice. No matter the location, the cleanliness, the rooms, the food, the decoration, the amenities, the attitude of the staff and the warmness from their greetings, all of them are super great. U can just bring nothing and go into this hotel. They provide everything u need. They serve the free breakfast from 7:30-10:30, free afternoon tea 3-5:30 and free flow of ice cream and wine after 6 on the roof. U can enjoy movie with popcorn for free. Jacuzzi and gym also located on the roof. All the receptionists remember my name! I will definitely come back. I really love this hotel and Penang! Thank you so much for making my trip enjoyable.

Good location, in city centre of Georgetown. Rooms are small, and do not have a lot of light. In the first room we got, the airconditioning wasn't working so we asked to get another room, which was way better. It had a newer and much more clean aircon unit. Breakfast is a la cart, do not book this. We wanted our breakfast as early as possible, which was clearly not appreciated by the staff. You have to chose your breakfast the night before (there are few options) and the time you want to eat. When we arrived at our breakfast at 7.30, beer bottles from the night before where still on tabled at the rooftop. The employee who made our breakfast clearly did not enjoy it. The food was bad; cold artifical scrambled egg, super sweet white beans and an old reheated croissant. After trying some bites we said goodbye to the hotel. View at rooftop is nice though.

Room: averagely decent. Unfortunately the staff at Hotel was not considerate, and talk with don't care attitude. Seriously very disappointed. Came to try this hotel for corporate booking for a year, unfortunately will never recommend and will never ever consider this. The hotel need to train their staff with manners. Dont deserve any star for this hotel.

Really good location in the heart of Georgetown. Walkable distance to all the cafes, local coffeeshop, murals, UNESCO heritage sites. Basic necessities available (room cleaning, fridge, kettle, iron etc). Staff are helpful. Room is clean, spacious and stocked with local coffee from a shop just next door!

Not an overly bad stay all things considered but itā€™s a little sad that the hotelā€™s amenities and facilities have been hit badly by the pandemic. Breakfast, tea and complimentary drinks are no longer provided. The gym and rooftop bar area is completely gone too. Rooms are starting to feel abit dated too. Definitely miss the pre-Covid stays at Le dream as the hotel has lost abit of its touch.

We stayed for a whole week and the rooms were incredibly quiet, which was a welcome break after staying in many hostels. The amenities in the room are very plentiful! The only thing is that some of the reviews are a bit out of date. The upstairs bar is closed, the whirlpools are closed and there is no welcome drink, wine, juice, or anything of the sort(although they still have a restaurant downstairs..) I had known this going in as Iā€™d seen other similar recent reviews, and normally wouldnā€™t be bothered, but they are still actively advertising their ā€˜openā€™ rooftop whirlpool on the TV in the lobby. Other than that though it was really a lovely stay!

The hotel has a very comfortable atmosphere, retro decorationļ¼Œclean and tidy, Hotel located in the busy street near 1st Avenue and Prangin Shopping Mall and Kimberly foods street, but very quiet. Most of the staffs here are very friendly and helpful, especially front desk customer service representative Eugene's service attitude is very professional and friendly. Ask him about tourist attractions, he is happy to help us. Appreciate his patience and support. Thank you Eugene, thank you Le Dream Boutique Hotel.

This is a simply amazing place to stay. In the heart of all things old and beautiful in Penang. The rooms are very comfortable, great beds. Breakfast is awesome. The staff is ever so polite and helpful. And everything is spotless. As a plus there is a free hi tea everyday from 3.30- 5pm and free drinks and ice cream on the rooftop from 6pm to midnight. Will def stay here again.

A neat n clean hotel in probably one of the best locations in Georgetown, Penang. Weak links - toilet n lighting need improvement. Policy of hotel abit rigid. Front office staff should be empowered more. Strengths: neat n clean room. Location easy for Grab n Taxi calls. Overall, out of 10, i give a 8.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Iā€™d read reviews that there were ants in peopleā€™s rooms. When we checked in there were some in the bathroom and near the kettle but we got rid of them and no new ones appeared. The aircon in the room could be more powerful. We had it set on 16C and it felt fine but not particularly cool. The location is good and the room was quiet. Overall would recommend!

Both Leslie and Eugene were very friendly and helpful in their service and hospitality. Overall a wonderful stay considering the price! To the others who experienced a negative one, always remember this: Treat others with the same respect you would like to be treated.

The Room was clean, and we were provided with towels, bathrobes tea and coffee sashes. The room is super quiet, and we had a good sleep there. Can't spend some time in the upstairs area which were closed. The receptionists were helpful, He gave the clear idea even you ask for some idea on the location or places to visit. If you are just wanting to have sleep at night and roam around Penang for the entire day. I would recommend staying here considering it is good location near to the bus station.

Room was dirty when I got it. Hair on the floor. Stained sheets. Dirty toilet bowl. Housecleaning doesn't even have a vacuum cleaner - only broom and a dustpan. Chair was broken. Service was passable. Location is great. This is actually my 4th stay here but will probably never stay again. Every subsequent stay here has been worse.

With its location near popular tourist hot spots and 3 of its mall within 5 mins walking distance. If you need to do some necessities shopping, you can always head to 1st Avenue LG village grocer for it. The family room can sleep 4 comfortably with dual hard and soft pillows and king-size bedding. Clean rooms and toilets are important as well. Service from the front desk was good too. What else is there to complain about?

  • 5/5 Angela L. 11 months ago on Google
Perfect location which is near to mall and walking distance to street Cafe, jetty and museum etc. The room, toilet is clean and comfortable. Nice cozy welcoming ambience once you step inside the lobby. Would highly recommend for the great value for short staycation. What not so good: -pillow is not so suitable for myself. -Some equipment like hanging bar drop off easily which require repair and maintenance -first time staying in hotel that provide bucket for foot soak which was very thoughtful, however the bucket probably has hole and water keep leaking. -rooftop bar and jacuzzi is close but we won't use it anyway in this hot weather -for those who drive, pls note limited car park parking.

Location: superb. Itā€™s in the heart of the city. Everything is just walking distance. Parking: very limited. Only 2 parking spots available. Facilities: during my stay, thereā€™s no pool, and rooftop bar was closed for private function. Thereā€™s no gym as well. Kids friendliness: nope. Even in the room thereā€™s no kid channel in the tv programme. Receptionist: polite, friendly and attentive. Cleanliness: floor a bit dusty, otherwise overall is clean. I guess you get what you paid.

Dainty and quiet boutique hotel with interiors that feels well furnished and luxurious, all at an affordable price. Allows travellers to put luggage with them before and after check out, as they tour the streets. Professional house keeping services provided at every 10am, just indicate you would like to have your room cleaned out via their LED panel by the door before you leave. Can't think of any downside actually, I and my friends had a nice stay there for our 5 day Penang trip.

Le Dream Boutique Hotel - This is a delightful hotel with a friendly staff of people. The only big negative is that the bed is hard. If you don't mind "extra firm", jump right in. I struggled to sleep the two nights I was there. The kind staff added a "comforter" cover the second night (about 1.5 cm thick) that didn't help. Parking is also a bother. Only 2 spots. Street parking at 6rm a day is available via a app download, registration, license plate, passport number, credit card, etc.

Our room was clean and we were provided with towels, bathrobes tea and coffee. WiFi works fine most of the time. The room is super quiet and we had a good sleep there. It's a shame the upstairs area with the bar and the Jacuzzis were closed. The receptionists were helpful, but some of them didn't talk to me, maybe because I am a woman. The view from the room was okay. All in all I would recommend staying here

Not what I expected What? I had a quick stay here. It had the basics. Looked very nice. Not noisy at all. There are umbrellas to borrow in the room. There is also a menu of prices in cases you steal anything in the room! Environment Very close to a lot of places. Very convenience, walking distances. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff. Dollar It was reasonable. Just a note, you need to add a $100 cash deposit which you will get back when you check out, once they have checked the place Yes? I would
