๐€๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ: It was a short Grab car drive from my previous hotel to the Ropewalk Piazza Hotel, less than RM5. The whole building is actually owned by Ropewalk Piazza Hotel. Some of the units are rented by the other shops. All the suite is located upstairs. ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ค: Unfortunately, no carpark is available at this property. So you can park your vehicles along the road next to the hotel. Once you got your parked your car, my advice, if you want to go around the city, use the GrabCar Service. You can pay your park using the apps of PenangParking, which cost only RM0.80 per hour. In their website, there is map guide of suggestion where to park your car ๐‹๐จ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: Surprisingly, it is only less than 5 minutes walk from Prangin Mall, KOMTAR, 1st Avenue Mall and Chowrasta Market. As I was using bus to go back to Kuala Lumpur, the Bilion Star Express office only 3 minutes walked from the hotel. So convenience. As the hotel is located on the center of heart of the city, it is easy to go everywhere. ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐œ๐ค-๐ˆ๐ง/๐‹๐จ๐›๐›๐ฒ: The check-in process was smooth and with the modern design. A few sofa at the lobby for you to chill. Basically, you only walked through the lobby only during the registration and checked-out. There will no room card provided, instead you will giving the room keylock number. ๐‘๐จ๐จ๐ฆ/๐’๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ž: If you see at the hotel building, there are many doors along the corridor, it is actually a guestroom door. You need to opened the door using the keylock number given (no room key/card), and that's it, the door is opened. So, you will need to memorize your key number, so snap a photo of your keylock number card or you can bring a card with keylock number on it. No need to worry if you lost the card. Once you opened the door, there is a stairs welcoming you. It is quite high to be honest. So, all I can say, it is not really suitable for senior citizens, the one need special assistance also the young children as you worried they will fall down. I love the living room, there is a sofa bed, television, microwave, water heater, and fridge. It's a normal amenities for the apartment style hotel. But unfortunately, no kitchen provided. Microwave is really convenience for you to heat up the food. There are 2 bedrooms provided. 1 king bed in master bedroom and 1 queen bed in other room. So actually total of 6 adults can stay in this apartment. So it is worth the price. The master bedroom is really spacious, provided with another television, make up table plus the big size of wardrobe cabinet. All I can say everything is complete inside such as security box, iron, and etc. Another room is just basic, with very comfortable queen bed plus the wardrobe. All is excellent for me. Unfortunately, I was alone during my stay, so I just hang out in my master bedroom as it is so cozy. ๐๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ: The bathroom has the luxurious vibes a little bit as there is no bathtub provided but I like the vibes which I can't explain. Love the amenities provided by the Penang Hotel Collections. Love the gold color theme of amenities as its look classy. The rain shower has the excellent pressure which make you did not realize that you already in the shower for a long time. ๐–๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข: Wifi is excellent, fast speed and working fine, I am really reliable with the Wifi as my phone signal is really week when I am the room. As I am working during the travel, love their makeup/working table in the master bedroom. It is really spacious and I can work comfortably. So I think place is suitable for you if you are looking to work from hotel. ๐๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ค๐Ÿ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ: No breakfast provided. As microwave is provided, I think it is excellent as you can heat up your food. All I can say, it is not suitable as it has a really high staircase in each unit.

EXTREMELY NOISY. The pub next to this hotel has a karaoke which runs through the night until 3am. The walls are not soundproof at all. Pity its a relatively nice hotel at an affordable price. But donโ€™t book here next time if you want to have any sleep at all at night. Still super noisy whilst I type this in the dark at 1.27am listening to horrible singers. Edit: It was a Saturday night when the karaoke happened. Our room was number 136 which was right next to the pub. We complained it to the receptionist the next day and he wasnt that much of a help. BUT later on the manager called to apologise and offered to swap our room to one which was further away from the pub. The manager was super friendly and gave excellent customer service. Props to the manager! Also we didn't know the reception is open 24 hours so if you do happen to experience noise pollution in the middle of the night, you can call the reception and they'll try to speak to the pub to get them to lower their volumes. I would have given 5 star for service because the manager was great, but -1 star because the receptionist did not offer to swap rooms straightaway, instead he said he could not promise to change rooms and will only update us again that afternoon. Location is great because it is near a lot of the good foods.

(0000 stars) Stayed here for 3 nights and it got from bad to worst... The bar downstairs is extremely noisy & loud in wee morning hours... Showing absolute no respect for the guests staying in the hotel & the staff at the reception, is of absolutely no help? Called at 12.48am to request for them to inform the people at the bar to lower down their volume, only to realise that it got louder at 1.19am?!?!! Paying close to 900 RM++ and this is the type of service?? Just need some peace after a long day and this has been the case for the past 3 nights...The bar and the hotel management should have a discussion on how to manage this... The stay in ropewalk was horrible for my family&i THANK GOODNESS THIS NIGHTMARE IS COMING TO AN END, WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK HERE SO HORRIBLE. If you guys don't believe, just come and try one night on your own, you will know what I mean. Stay at your own risk guys, you will have 'free music & entertainment'

2 bedrooms suite is suitable to cater for guests like us which consist of 2 couples. All units have individual entrance facing roaside, our room is located upstair of a nyonya restaurant. You are basically living in a shop house. It is very convenient as we don't need to go through hotel lobby like other hotel. The smart doorlock is a good design, because we don't need to bring card, just key in password will do. The living room has sofa bed for extra person. Please note that there is mosque prayer sound located at the end of the road. We love the hotel amenities provided. Hotel staff also friendly and helpful. Free coffee for guest at lobby. Carpark in front the hotel roadside, we need to download penang smart parking app to pay parking from 8am to 6pm to penang city council.

Bad experience Hotel room just above the karaoke and bar. Noisy sound and sing till 3am. Lousy sound proof and can heard very clearly the song the sang. Receptionist canโ€™t do anything instead of offering ear plug only. Can feel the speaker vibrate like earthquake as the speaker just below us. Not suitable for family stay unless u donโ€™t wish to sleep and very active till 3am. Not recommend to stay here especially room 136 and 138. We pay for place to stay not to listen karaoke The only good one is their service, they will attend your inquiry, complaint anytime.

If you wish to have a bad sleep, here is a good place. I stayed at room 138,the club downstairs is opened until 3:00am,all the sounds of peopleโ€™s laughing and shouting and music is so loud.miserable experience. In the room, only 1 mirror in the bathroom,so if you have more than two girls,itโ€™s not enough to dress up.

The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Afiq who emailed us before our trip and helped us to settle in on our first day. The 2 bedroom suite was clean and have basic amenities such as microwave and mini fridge. The location of the hotel is convenient to go to a lot of food and tourist attractions.

Book a family suite with 2 bedroom with a kitchen and living room in the middle. Its on the second storey which you access thru a flight of stairs from ground level. Rooms looks clean, but maintenance seems overdue. The location was great as most of the cafes, eating places are within walking distance. Carnarvon Road with good food stores is a 5 min walk. Check in staffs are polite and service is good.

Worst experience! First and last time staying with this hotel, we arrived around 3pm for check-in and was assigned rooms with malfunctioned air conditioning. However, we were not being informed prior to check in. Requested to change rooms, we waited for 2 hours at the reception, and worst the reception lobby was hot like oven too. At the end, we have no choice but to ask for refund and have to sort out our accommodation last minute!

Room: Two Bedroom Suite (#138) Entry is off the main road, above empty shops and up a flight of stairs. Nights: 3 Guests: 2 adults Pros: Clean space, modern style decor. Lounge room and kitchenette as soon as you get up the stairs with each bedroom on either side. Master bedroom is very nice and spacious with a desk. Bathroom also clean and style up to date. We arrived 2.5 hrs early and our room was ready. Aircon was working perfectly throughout our stay. No keys or cards needed, they have an electric number pad to get in. Cons: Stairs are not friendly for old folks, children and people with a lot of luggage so keep that in mind. Hotel is next to a mosque so you can always hear the call to prayer and also a mechanic. You can also hear a lot of street noise if youโ€™re in the street side bedroom. We ended up booking an extra night since we werenโ€™t feeling the best to travel. I went to reception to inform them and also to pay the Tourist Tax (RM10 p/night) and Penang Govt Levy charge (RM2 p/night). The receptionist misheard the room I was staying in and was trying to charge me more so always double check the calculation.

This place has good potential but really needs to be thoroughly cleaned and updated. Stayed for 3 nights with 2 adults and 1 toddler and there are definite pros and cons of this place. Pros: location (walkable to many famous eateries), 2 separate rooms which is great for small families, small kitchenette (great if you have kids), separate entrance leading to street for each room, keyless entry, comfortable beds, Cons: room conditions are in dire need of a refresh (mold everywhere, peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, etc.), noise from bar downstairs (sometimes until 3am and if not, their patrons having loud conversations down from the room which you can hear every word), steep staircase (tough if you have a lot or heavy luggage, no bell boys to assist), short staffed (everytime you ask to clean the room or for help with noise, the response is always, we only have 1 person, it will take a while or we can't so much). Ultimately it was an ok stay, average at best. Depending on your situation and who you're traveling with, it could be a good fit. Our family did have another room for another family member and saw that. That room apparently had a leak and thus was recently redone but the condition was significantly better than the one we had so clearly conditions differ. It even had a door separating in the middle of the stairs to help with noise (ours did not). Ultimately as many have mentioned, try to get a room as far away from the bar as possible (no matter what the front desk manager says about them managing noise levels), its not only the bar's music but their patrons which can cause many sleepless nights if you're sleeping in the master and are a sensitive sleeper.

Overall this is a below average stay. We stayed at this hotel from the 6th Dec ~ 7th Dec please do check your bedsheets & pillowcases before using them. The sheets had a weird sweaty and funky smell to it as though it had been reused. The pillow cases gave my mother red bites on her face and neck. The master bedroom of our unit 144, had leakages. I have pics for this. The hall flooring was bad with uneven surfaces that was covered with carpet. The air conditioning is lousy as it only worked in the halls. Hope the management could review this matter urgently as this is disappointing.

The 2 bedroom flat is on second floor which we need to carry the luggage up all the stairs. Microwave & fridge are provided. Living room is a bit small. Convenient area for food. The windows cannot be opened nor the shades be adjusted.

Awesome place to stay when you visit Penang. Close to a lot of food places, 10 minute walk to Komtar. 2 spacious rooms with full amenities, good water pressure, microwave, fridge, kettle, lounge area, fast wifi and very clean.

Strategic location where you can find a lot of local food in walking distance. The room is comfy and the area is consider big for couples. Will definitely choose this place to stay next time.

The best boutique hotel ever.Hereโ€™s why : Strategic location to all tourist attractions. Affordable. Beautiful interior, everything is new. Easy parking, just need to pay to the city council using the Penang Smart Parking apps. The staffs are all friendly and welcoming. The room is super clean except for the dusty curtain, but you wonโ€™t experience it if you donโ€™t touch it ๐Ÿ˜‚ It has keyless room so please snap the password given on the welcome card in case you lost it. Check-in and check-out process is super smooth because the staffs are well-trained and knowledgeable. I will definitely repeat the stay!

The noise coming from the bar downstairs is horrific - going on until 3AM! The reception closes at 10PM so it is up to the person staying in the room to call the mainline repeatedly (to no avail). We stayed in room 138 our first night and were unable to sleep as the loud noises and vibration coming from Escobar were unbearable. Managed to get the room changed to 148 which was supposed to be quieter - as at now it looks like not by much. Would definitely not return thanks to the terrible noise coming from Escobar. Pity as the hotel itself and staff/facilities are nice.

Stayed at room 156 for 4 pax. It suits our travelling style where we do not need any amenities like gym or breakfast. However, do note that it would be best to inform the front desk if you need room service, ours was not cleaned as the room service lights had issues. There is a mosque just across the street and the morning prayers will sound at approximately 6.30am daily. There is a pub that opens till 2am, Thai Massage, tattoo shop and a fine dining restaurant just at the shophouses below.
