I have stayed in many budget hotels before without any concerns, but this is the first time I've ever felt it was necessary to leave a hotel without staying. As soon as we got to our room, it was clear it was not clean at all. There were stains and hairs all over the sheets. There was an open pipe running into the shower, presumably a drain from a shower above. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the room itself was poorly constructed with the outlets completely uneven in the walls. The event that made it clear we had to leave was that the pull out couch (booked for the third person on our reservation) had some clear bodily fluid stains on it and when we called down to ask for some sheets and pillows to cover it, we were told that sheets would be an extra charge (once again, for the bed that was part of our reservation). When it was clear we needed to leave and we checked out immediately, they tried to offer us an upgraded room but at that point we did not trust the sanitation of any of their facilities. When we tried to request a refund and submitted multiple pictures to demonstrate the issues, we were told that was not valid because housekeeping told them the room was clean. Please do not make our mistake and save your money by never staying here. It is absolutely not a 3 star hotel.

It is NOT luxury! I am currently staying here. I booked serene suite. Apartment with large bed and sofa bed and 2 toilets. They gave only ONE SET of toiletries (basic soaps and shampoo) and ONE remote control even though there were 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms. I asked for another set of toiletries and remote. They said NO. ONLY ONE SET GIVEN. I've stayed in many hotels and apartments and this is the first time I hear of such a thing. Not LUXURY BUT A CHEAPO PLACE!!

A very fair review here base on what I have experienced. The bed is not clean and there are ants climbing around the bed frame(I have photos to prove). Lucky that I’m just staying for one night. It is my very first time staying here and also the last time. The only good thing is that the staff are doing good. Good attitude and should be praise.

Was welcomed with a welcome drink and hand towel. Was pleased with the welcoming services. Stayed in a family apartment style room. Room was big and comfortable but would recommend the following to make it more studio type: 1. Blanket and pillows for the sofa bed 2. Toiletery and towels for the common room toilet 3. Mugs, Bowls and utensils (there is a coffee machine and microwave but we need bowls and utensils) If the market position is to cater as a studio apartment, you will need to provide these items. Roof top view is great. Swimming pool is great as well. Loved it very much. High potential hotel but could do better.in the details. Overall a nice stay.

This hotel was extremely NOISY, smelly and quite dirty. We paid extra to get a suite and it was the worst. There was constant and very loud noise from plumbing and the bar right under the hotel that had loud music until 3am most nights. The bathrooms smelt terrible, like sewage. And the room was pretty grimy. The one star is for their staff who made a nice effort for Xmas (with presents for kids etc), but I would’ve much preferred if they had spent that resource on improving the overall service and cleanliness of the hotel. Definitely would not recommend especially if travelling with kids, we did not get any sleep during our stay.

This is actually a good hotel with quite a strategic location near Komtar, where you can find the transport to all areas of Penang, including the CAT free buses. It's also located just across the TOP building where you can get on the top of the building for the glass floor attraction. The room was clean and comfy, and you will get a special treats (local snacks) that you can try. They also have an infinity pool at level 13 with a great view, along with the executive lounge and gym. The only complaint that i have is that there's no hanger inside the bathroom, and the sound of the front door closing was very noisy. Aside of that, i think it's quite a perfect stay for me.

M Summit 191 is perfect for those who are looking for an apartment-like hotel where space, comfort, and privacy are of utmost importance. There are also different type of rooms to choose from, so you will always get a surprise by staying here. Furthermore, the rooms are big for a family of 2 adult + 2 children, or 3 adults. The only downside however, is the fact that there’s no in-house restaurant hence no breakfast is served. Swimming pool is also not available at this hotel, but why head to the pool when there’s so many to explore around Georgetown! Full review: mylostvoyager.com IG: travelfoodie.my

Located in the heart of Georgetown, opposite the Komtar Tower. Around the hotel, there was mall too. Stayed there for a week. The room was spacious as there was living room and dining area with simple kitchen counter. Easily to get hot/cold water from the water dispenser (which just outside our room) eventho the room has the kettle. Room is clean and comfy to stay in. Staff are friendly and attentive. Strong wifi to work. The hotel have its own parking and your car parked into their car lift. Recommended to stay, didn't disappoint us.

I have stayed many times there to the point where I've tried all the suites. It was usually great. Weirdly enough, the service is always great when you enter the building but sucks when you are outside (the parking area). When we arrived, no one came and help with our luggage so we had to move them ourselves. They were also terribly rude and sadly we had to experience the parking chaos with one of the parking towers (A). At night it was the worst, the bar behind will blast their live 'band' as loud as possible which is impossible to sleep. Even when the band ended, the music was still loud until 3 in the morning. Luckily, we got to change rooms. ***TIP: Book a room close to the front of the hotel (room _01/2)

I'm gonna start with the service. We came by car and was treated like PEASANTS by the security. They had a different system for the parking and based on my research, THIS IS THE ONLY HOTEL THAT IMPLEMENTS APS (AUTOMATED PARKING SYSTEM) IN PENANG so this being our first time, OF COURSE we didn't really know about the procedures. Those security guys did not even greet us and was frowning at us the whole time. Instructions were not clear and suddenly, we were told to unload our things and place them at the entrance and just stand there. After i asked how should i park my car (as they had a different system where your car will go into a certain machine and it goes up the floor), the guard replied rather rudely "how do you usually park your car at home? " THIS LEFT ME, SHOCKED! The fact that him being a security guard and had the audacity to ask me that which implied judging my driving skills. Is it because i'm a women? pretty sure, this question will not be asked to a man. Is that how your hotel staffs talk to your customers who just came and chose to stay at your hotel? You claim your property as an "Executive Hotel Suites" but have staffs practising such uncivilised and unethical behaviour? is this the standard that your executive hotel stand by? Of course, i made a complaint right away because this behaviour was just unacceptable. The manager apologised and simply said "you have the right to write your review" so here i am, writing my review. My friends and i were all women and we went there to celebrate our front-liner friend for her amazing effort in the fight for covid but this low class treatment by the hotel basically CRUSHED our mood. Nothing complimentary was offered after the complaint being made which just goes to show how much care they have for their customers satisfaction. Thank you SUMMIT 191, I am NEVER, EVER COMING HERE AGAIN. NOR I WILL I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Suite concept but cheap materials used. Only nice part about the room were the bathroom and bed. Walls are very thin and you could easily hear noises from other rooms, corridor and construction next door. Free parking. Rooftop bar with a view. Staff were friendly. Walking distance to many well known eateries.

The room is wonderful, in fact is a suit with a lot space. If the hotel equipt with fmore facilities will be definitely get higher rating. Current there is no swimming pool. Having a roof top lounge for foods and drinks, a section of it is facing komtar building. Beside that, it also has a gym room. Parking your car is an good experience. All cars are park in a building equipped with metal deck that moved like lift. I think is the first and only in Penang at the moment so is a good experience. Currently there some construction going on and you will experience some noise. The bed mattress is s a little at the hard side. I won't say this is good or bad, depend on individual preference. If construction is done and perhaps with swimming pool (been told by staff at reception counter that swimming pool is in the plan), this will be a perfect hotel to stay with family. By the way the reception counter is at 14th floor 😁 Enjoy your stay...✌🤞

Greeted and served by wonderful front desk personnel. Mainly by Mdm. Shalini who made everything more pleasant with her care and attentiveness. Located about 1 to 2 km from most tourist hot spots. Rooms are clean, housekeeping was good

The bed is comfy. The service was confusing. We were not allowed to have a bread knife to chop fruit we’d bought at the market. We thought it was a language barrier but apparently this is standard. We ended up buying our own kitchen knife. But the worst part was the karaoke next door until midnight all three nights we were there. They howl into the mic and let people onto the stage who are tough to listen to. There is no soundproofing. Apparently in the entire place there wasn’t a single room we we’re able to be moved to. All up an incredibly expensive place to be kept awake. Would recommend heading to the old town or to the beach resorts for the price point.

Everything is good except the facilities and room. I've never come across a common corridor in a hotel that is not airconditioned. 1. Common corridor is not air-conditioned and pretty noisy with lots of echoes from noisy neighbours. 2. One of the 2br suites are facing an airwell that was not well ventilated with really hot air from compressed trapped. The walls from the toilet and one of the bedroom are facing the oven-liked air well. Really hot to the touch when we check in. 3. The 2br suite aircon was not really working fine and the room was so warm due to the trap air. Never get the rooms on Level 13 unless you enjoy the suana like surrounding. 4. The staff tried their best to rectify the problems heat, warm room etc. I just think it's the architecture issue. The airwell on level 13 was trap due to the level 14 was sealed to accomodate the swimming pool & gym. So all hot air are trapped on level 13 airwell. 5. When checking in, I've already told the check-in staff I do not want rooms facing behind as I've read reviews that there's some kind of KTV noise. She told me there's no other rooms available. True enough, noises are heard at night. 6. Rooms are not really insulated and sound proof as the windows are only single-glazed. Defects: 1. Bathroom mirror drop off by itself 2. Water leakage in one of the bedroom suite(Razzle) after rain. 3. Bathroom exhaust fan not working 4. Heat in the bathroom & bedroom (due to excess heat in compressor airwell) Avoid Level 13 and The Razzle Suite & The Serene if you do not want a Suana-type room.

Honest review based on what I have experienced. The front office service is quite disappointed, we check in on 3PM yet we’re getting told that our rooms are not ready yet, elderly was waiting for 45 mins+ at the lobby. Our room bed’s blanket is quite dirty as there’s a lots of stain of it, and the toilet floor still have a lots of hairs 😣 overall I don’t think it’s worth it to stay. Need serious improvement from the hotel management.

Nice rooftop bar in Penang with great night view. The space a bit small but it is comfortable. The food is delicious and tasty. But there is too limited for food choices. Hope it will be more choices when next visit. The price of food and beverages are reasonable. Overall it is a good place for chilling. It is good for a visit to the bar. Nice try.

Poor front office service. I called at 7.30am to confirm my arrival. Upon arriving at 3pm my room was not ready. Both my elderly parents had to wait in the lobby. There was a whole family sitting there not wearing their masks and no one had the courtesy to handle the situation. 3 star facility but we have to order our own food via app and go to the ground floor to collect ourselves. Ridiculous. Bell boy sent the bags up and left it at the doorstep, isnt that just absurd? I have no idea how the staffs are trained. Came up to the room and no towels. Regret booking this property.

Stayed at Safari Themes for 4d3n, I love it! This room are very uniquely design and my kids love it. They played the whole day. I also love the idea of 2 queen side by side. I already feedback to the OM to consider having a buffet kind of breakfast instead of cafe's standard breakfast and also to install a slide to the ball pit so kids have a circulation play. I definitely will come again and book this Safari Theme. This Hotel is very near to Mall, Museum and Restaurant. Oh their custormer service and front desk is superb friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for the best stay of my life!

Fantastic room, a lot of people making poor comments without understanding it’s not a 5 star resort. For what it is it is incredible and we really enjoyed the luxury room. The service is hilariously bad, the mentality of more is better is embraced. Foyer full of 8+ staff with the combined clue of one person. Location also isn’t the best. It’s a good 15min walk to most places you want to be as a tourist. Penang is very difficult to get a taxi also.

Great location. Room is very clean, spacious living room, kitchen area, bedroom and washroom. Front desk staff is very kind and friendly. The only bad thing is the lift car park which has eaten quite a lot of time when we want to take our cars 🫢 but it’s the highest in SEA so is another eye-opening experience on new technology 🫢

Very friendly and welcoming staff including reception and cleaners etc. The rooms are great and the pool is also excellent. Excellent location for exploring. However breakfast is poor and is outsourced to a small cafe nearby with limited fixed choice. Better to make your own arrangements for breakfast. As a final point we were also not informed prior to our stay regarding ongoing renovations at the front of this hotel. Overall: Great hotel but let down by breakfast.

Checked In Serene Room 2 Jun 2023 Bad - Check in room not ready even after 3pm - Check out time 11am can extend to 12pm - No breakfast buffet - Difficult to park in the auto car lift - Master room very loud noise (like big suction fan) every time the auto car lift is activated. Will quiet down or stop after 1am Good - Infinity Pool and Gym (open until 11pm) - Clean and spacious room - Coffee, tea and drinking water - Room service is reasonable good that fulfilled every request. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Nizam (Pool Attendant) for assisting me in purchasing breakfast for my family. The exceptional friendliness and hospitality of their staff were truly remarkable. It is because of these outstanding qualities that I am giving them a 5-star rating.

They have a special mechanical tower car park. Quite cool but the place can be jam at peak hours. Overall our stay was good. Spacious room, fully equipped and clean thankfully with nice TWG tea as well. Only sad part was the double bed was actually too small. So didn’t enjoy the bed. Else everything else was fine

Despite having a moment of unpleasant sewerage matter in the hotel room, but much appreciated with the fast action respond and great service given to immediate change our room and with a free upgrade to business executive suite. Excellent service and give them a thumb up. Will surely be back again. Best location choice with walking distance to all famous hawker stall, cafes, massage centre, many more.

Book Razzle suite for my family of 4 pax ( kids age at 10 and 12). The sofa bed for kids is just nice. My room was not prepared for 4 pax. Have to call reception 2 separate times to get extra towel and at bed time to get extra blanket There are water dispenser with selection of cold, warm and hot drinking water which is very convenient. Walking distance to shopping mall, New Lane Street Food Stalls and Lebuh Presgrave 888 prawn noddle ( 三条福建虾面). The overall experience was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our 2 children. The size and space in our Classic room was so generous, probably the biggest I've stayed in Penang. It was clean and the room was tidied every day. The location was great to go everywhere we wanted to visit in Georgetown. The Malay lady at the reception was super friendly and the kids loved the swimming pool overlooking beautiful city of Penang.

Fantastic location! This is a new hotel in the heart of George Town. While it does not have a restaurant, it has a cantilever infinity pool with a glass bottom that overlooks the street below. The beds are comfortable and the room is well equipped. The staff are also very warm and welcoming. Would definitively stay here again!

Checked into this hotel as it was conveniently located and offered EV charging facilities. Apart from this, the entire experience was not particularly luxurious. Did not expect rooms without windows but the bigger issue was the noise. With the automated parking garage connected to the building, the mechanism resonates loudly whenever a car enters or leaves which gets annoying in the middle of the night. Some rooms facing the rear also have to contend with music from the beer garden next door. In the morning, they are a little under-staffed and you may have to wait as just one or two front desk staff handle guests. Saving grace during my stay has been the security team who did a wonderful job juggling the flow of cars into that small driveway. They were pleasant and very courteous even when traffic backed up to the main road.

We booked 8 nights in the Serenity Suite (Room 902) at the Granite Luxury Hotel and whilst there appeared to be plenty of the living space, the bedroom was in fact quite small. However, the biggest shock was that the one narrow window in the bedroom was blacked out...therefore no natural light. Apparently this window backed onto the service lift well and the noise, from we assume a type of lift, was heard on occasions. The room was totally claustrophobic. After a couple of extremely unpleasant nights, we requested a change of room which I must say was attended to quickly...they were obviously aware of the lack of light in the bedroom. The location is excellent, opposite bus station, near plenty of eating outlets. The small rooftop pool area is delightful with friendly staff and was never crowded. Unfortunately, no fault of the hotel, you hear the noise blasted from the nearby mosque during their prayer times. All the staff we encountered we friendly, courteous and always with a smile. Be wary of Serenity Suites on various levels ending in '2'

Mixed feeling - Service was exceptionally awesome BUT let down by many factors. Plus side of the suite - 402 Room was big and spacious. Security was good Location was good Staff at breakfast place was very understanding and nice Minus side Laundry - left outside for 2 days straight ! Reception called and said they do not have such services yet and will arrange for it to be send out yet not done so at all. On the 3rd day , staff requested me to contact laundry shop myself to get it washed. Requested for basic utensil for simple cooking for my son but given burnt pot and had to request again. > see pic Sofa was stained / table was stained with pen ink ? Totally unacceptable for a suite !! > see pic Noise - on level 4 - u can hear noise of the automated car park. Pipe leaking and dripping in the toilet so u cannot get a dry bathing area before u can even bathe. Baby cot - U have a nail , rusty nail that is loose and not screwed properly. How is this even safe ? My pic is not clear to share. All in all , excellent service but others need more improvement , let alone for a suite room .

I was quite satisfied with the room at Granite Luxury. It was clean, and the interior was modern. Although we only used the room for sleeping and spent the rest of our time outside, our sleep was very comfortable thanks to the soft mattress and cool room temperature. One note: there was a noisy sound, which seemed to be the fan from the bathroom. The noise disappeared when we turned off the bathroom light before going to bed.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in. I was amazed by the vertical automated parking. The staff manning the parking was extremely helpful. The rooms were amazing. We got the splendor suite and the rooms were beyond our expectations. There's a large living room, a comfortable bedroom, a tv room and 2 bathrooms ! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The breakfast selection was limited but the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back here!

Summit 191 is our go-to place over the years, since it was built. The location is just perfect. We’ve stayed at Bt Ferringhi, at Weld Quay, various hotels along Magazine Road, yet this is where we call ‘home’ when we’re in Penang. We have Liza attending to our booking needs all the time and there’s never been a moment when she’s unavailable for us. Thank you, Liza! Today, I bumped into Datuk Albert Moh in the lift and couldn’t believe how humble the founder of the M Summit Group is. That must be how he’s trained his team, to be humble and to maintain the place so well.

I had a fabulous time staying here! Great facilities, pictured is the infinity pool and view of rooftop bar. Room was very clean, excellent service from all staff (very friendly, helpful and approachable). Location is super convenient as well, close to all the main attractions. Note, don’t book the suite side, we stayed on the hotel side!! My other family members stayed on the suites side and it’s not as modern/nice!

Booked the luxury room and it looks exactly like the picture. Really luxurious and the ambience is good. They really use good quality material in their room and doesn't feel cheap at all. Will come again next time Points for improvement: Currently the hotel is still undergoing a lot of renovations so a lot of the things is not done yet like the gym and some of the lift not working. Hopefully the next time I come everything is done.

Value for money for the good location and spacious room (with a big living room and kitchen area) We stayed in Baroque suite. Clean room, strong air condition and strong WiFi. The hotel room is beautiful, and the location is alright, but the entrance is hidden from the main road, and it's very tight for a vehicle to turn in. Our shower drain was clogged, and they sent someone, but it didn't work. There were a lot of minor issues like 1 key card not working for 1 of the 2 rooms, but since we stayed only 1 night, we didn't bother fixing the issue. I wanted to like the hotel, but I have yet to be impressed.

Attended a wedding here. The place is super romantic. I think the issue i have is the lack of facade in the building due to limited floor space. The parking is awesome though a little too complicated for me.

The room was awesome! Spacious and full of useful amenities. We are a family with two adults and two kids were so happy with the room and hotel staff services that we even extended our stay for another night. The bellman/concierge was so helpful by explaining about our room, helping us with the luggage and guiding my husband with the hi tech parking system. My two boys won't even wanna say goodbye to this hotel. Hopefully we will come back again in the future to this great place. 5 stars for the facilities, rooms and customer service.
