Tourists and cruise passengers are easy to find here. With that said, there is a reason why. It is a beautiful spot. You have 2 viable water entrances flanking each other. Water funnels through here with some good waves which means you probably don't want to get to close to the rocks unless you are a strong swimmer. You can stand out there all day and enjoy the water. The drawback is you will not be the only one. You will probably have to work around a group of tourist hanging out in the water with their beer. I wouldn't plan on spending all day here. There are quieter spots. With that said, I do recommend spending some time. Aside from the water, which is clear and blue, there is a good rocky cliff area to walk through (with shoes) and pretty views. Great shade and some solid choices for laying out a towel or chair. Nice public restrooms as well as good Parking.

Smith’s Barcadere is a local place that locals go. It has a very steady slope into the sea which makes it ideal for the very young children. There is so much marine life within a few metres of the beach that this place is a magnificent snorkelling place. Take some fish food to be surrounded by all sorts of fish and other sea creatures. For the slightly older children there is a great place to do some cliff jumping (about 2-3 metres high depending on tide). It is easy to take photos of people jumping from the rocks and send some real smashers home to show friends how “extreme” your holiday has become. There are fresh water showers and toilets at the back of the beach and they are kept in good order. This makes it easy to clean the children up at the end of the day. There are benches and trees to give shade during the hottest part of the day. If you like photography then come here at dusk to take the most amazing sunsets. Unrestricted views allow some amazing pictures to be taken. For a place that is not the largest it has something for everyone. It is a must for anyone visiting the island. If you look at my photos you can see the place is often empty. These were taken during a week day at mid morning!

Get your feet to the sands of this incredible little beach! This beautiful place is stunning. In my opinion the most gorgeous spot on the island. The natural rock formations and seaside ledges of this wonderful nook are absolutely breathtaking. The water here is crystal clear. A true jewel emanating brilliant shades of blue.

I almost didn't want to share this review so that I can keep this gem to myself.... but I hope that sharing will help protect this place and keep it beautiful forever. This is heaven. Amazing snorkeling spot between Bodentown and seven mile beach worth your time. Truly my happy place. Beach chickens. Watch out for the urchins though.... literally thousands under the diving spot among the rocks.

Fantastic beach! Far fewer people than the 7 Mile area, nice and protected, warm water, sunny but with shady areas and tables for eating or leaving your bags. We saw dozens of fish and coral in the water without going far, and it was a great place to lean the basics of our snorkel gear. The depth is gradual, too, so it was a great place for parents. The beach was clean and there wasn't any kelp underwater.

This beach was right down the street from our rental and we were very grateful for it! The beach in front of our rental house was so rocky it was impossible to get in and enjoy. This beach is super smooth and we were able to enjoy it for half the day. It was a little cloudy and drizzly but it was still a good time. There is a bathroom and tables scattered throughout. There is also a good sized parking lot across the street

What a beautiful place. Even though it may seem isolated and secluded, this beach is open to anybody that can find it. This beach is a gem! The swimming was great and We saw a cruise ship at a distance and a mermaid at not so distant. We have to return someday!

This place is amazing with its white sand, rock formations, crystal water. Tables are one of the amenities anyone can enjoy for free. Perfect place for children.

My favourite beach in Grand Cayman, providing a bit of everything from sand beach to ironshore to public showers and toilets to good snorkeling and even shore diving. I love it!

Its such a lovely beach to relax and have some great treat for our eyes. The beach is small and the area you can hangout is not much but believe me the views are just so amazing and the tiny beach is so beautiful with cool breeze. Just carry some snacks and drinks when you head out so that you can lay down and get some relaxation time in the beach and incase you get hungry there is no shacks or food stalls nearby 😁. Highly recommended❤

North and east sides of the island covered in seaweed, so this was a wonderful discovery for us. Clear water, with some snorkeling and fun rocks to jump off of. We went twice during our stay and there was a pretty decent amount of people but not overly crowded.

Beautiful local beach with 2 entrances. There’s a lot of pebbles before you get to the water. Recommend wearing beach slippers until you’re closer to the water. There are no restaurants here so it’s a great idea to bring snacks and drinks if you plan on spending time.

This is such a cool little rocky cove with two small beaches. From other reviews, it sounds like it is a great place to snorkel, but the day we went the waters were a little rough and the visibility was very poor, so snorkeling didn't work out for us. However, we were there on Sunday morning, and a local church came out and sang hymns and prayed for a little while, which was just incredible to witness.

Awesome, beautiful, wish we would have know about it sooner. So we could have spent a full day there.

A true gem, especially for sunset! Lots of parking, sandy but not too large beach, has facilities, a couple of sandy coves with easy access to snorkeling. A really nice spot just outside of Georgetown.

My favorite place.. on the beach there’s tables where you can sit, and lots of trees for shady spots. It doesn’t always get too packed; some days there’s more people than some. You just never know until you’re there. The water is beautiful and clear. There’s some rocky places underwater so you can wear swimming shoes or just swim around them. 😊

This is a great place to vist, its rocky to get in the water, but it was a great place to swim and hang out. I would recommend it. The water was amazing.

Smith’s Barcadere aka Smith’s Cove a beautiful South Sound gem. Characterful beach coves, beautiful crystal clear Caribbean Sea perfect for snorkeling. Free public parking as well as restrooms and showers.

Beautiful small beach. Water was beautiful and clear. Gets pretty deep and can snorkel but the rocky areas. Relaxing and beautiful. Had facilities and some tables available. Definitely worth a visit while on the island.

Lovely beach nestled just on the outskirts of the city with available parking just across the street. A definite recommendation if you've little kiddies as there's little to no current or waves.

Great place for snorkeling, swimming, sun-bathing or playing in the sand. It has free parking and a bathroom and trees provide some shade. Beautiful.

Nice quiet place to swim, fish, and relax. Small park, and rocks filled with hermit crabs. Parking is located across the street.

I'm sure it's due to the time of year (mid June) but water was very choppy and cloudy. No possible way to snorkel. Barely able to get out into the water. Area was nice. Recommend water shoes as rocks are sharp.

Loved this spot! Somewhat stronger current can push you towards the rocks but it was a nice place to relax. We saw a local church crowd and some baptisms occurring and many people jumped off the small cliff overlooking the pools of water. It kind of splits into two sections.

Great location for snorkeling. Small shaded beach, beautiful view of the rocks and water. Has about 8 picnic tables and 2 restrooms and 2 showers. Nice off the road parking area. Sand bottom is soft...meaning you sink in it... so be careful entering and exiting the water especially when water is a little rough.

Unique beaches, accessible between natural breaks in the rocks. Fun to snorkel or just float. Gentle current this day. Good parking, on-site shower and toilets, picnic tables. Some welcome shade.

Good snorkeling spot. If water is too rough, there are many picnic tables for reading. There is a restroom with outdoor showers.

Best spot to snorkel. Lots of different fish and easy sandy beaches to enter. Best spot on the island. Pack a lunch and enjoy the day here.

👍👍 Great beach with nice near shore snorkeling, to find a big coral with lots of fish, go left as u enter the beach and stop as soon as u hit the first house, swim straight out from there and you’ll find the big coral block. Finding sea turtle here is a bit of a hit and miss although we were lucky that...
