The temple entrance is not very obvious, and once inside, it is a very serene place compared to the busy street outside. The temple is neat and clean. To do prayer, pay RM3 to get a set of joss sticks, candles, and incense paper. Those with some understandings of Chinese culture and history will appreciate the temple better.

Interesting place to visit. I wish these temples had more of an explanation of the religious significance and symbols.

If you are into Chinese folk religion or folklore. Pay a visit to the deity honored on the first floor hall. The deity Shennong is being prayed. Shennong is revered by the Chinese as one of the great saint. He was the master of herb medicine in traditional treatment. The floor is timber and needs replacement. Ask for permission to go up from the temple attendants.

Beautiful place, but more description would be great to have so the visitors realise what this building is about. I only found this in a tourist guide booklet: "It was headquarters of the Kien Tek Society, a Hokkien secret society, from 1850 till its dissolution in 1890."

(Translated by Google) This beautiful temple and temple is near the street art, can't take photos here because there are many pedicab drivers and people plus vehicles passing here. so you have to be really patient and wait for the moment.

Went here with the free tour group. The guide told us it used to a mafia temple, where the gangsters were hiding. That's why you will not see Buddha statue here. This is interesting temple if you know the story behind it. Upstairs is for praying for your health.

Small temple tribute to God of City, Fu De Zheng Shen (ho tek ceng sin). Gone through conservation before, but lack of maintenance. Still beautiful in its existence

The temple blends perfectly with the area, although regrettably, it often closes too early and requires in-advance day planning to achieve getting inside in order to appreciate its marvelous architecture.

👍👍 Beneath the golden hues of twilight's embrace, I wander the Esplanade, a tranquil space. Amidst the laughter of locals and tourists near, Nature's symphony and history's whispers I hear. The gentle breeze dances through ancient trees, Whispering tales carried on the evening breeze. As I stroll past...
