Overpriced and a complete rip off! For 4 people we paid more than RM2000 and we left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. Will not recommend anyone to visit. Decor- was an industrial tacky vibe. Black ceiling with pipes and lights. Definitely not fine dining settings. No table cloth nor carpets. Dazzling cheap props on the table and dance music that cheapened the experience. Food- The 3 morsels of food in the pictures made up 3 courses. Instead of Gold leaves and caviar, how about using more substantial ingredients like prawns or meats so the courses won’t look like canapés. Wines- we paid for the wine pairings. The red wine from Romania was flat. Nothing on the nose, didn’t leave an impression on the palate, and zero finish. The Chardonnay from Italy was not much better. Can’t believe these were the best their sommelier can choose. Albeit after I gave feedback they brought me another serving of red wine- but it was also really bad. Penang-nites tried to convince me there was no fine dining in the city but I told myself I need to at least give Orinea a chance. I did and now I’m convinced! After paying an expensive lesson for it. Stay away! You had been warned

This is my 1st time there and it’s was quite an experience to look for the place. You will need to take the lift on the right hand side of the building towards 3A then get out from the lift again and take the other lift to 18th floor of the building. Just like the famous hidden bar in town but I could still tolerate with it as I found it quite challenging 😉. The food was superb and the staff are very helpful and friendly too especially Esther. She’s so amazing that she would even go beyond the hill to get our request done. Amazing!! It was really last minute request for birthday plate decoration for both of my aunt and the cook is also helpful to fulfill and came out with something for them. It’s nothing repeated from the tea set we ordered and both of my aunts are so delighted when both staff came out and singing the birthday song for them. They were amazing and really appreciate their efforts. It’s a highly recommended place for any celebrations and romantic place to bring your love ones there too. 👏🏻 👏🏻 great job and great service mates. Million thanks everyone 😉

Very good attentive service by Eyaa and the team. They anticipated your needs such as offering you a blanket in case you are cold. Food was excellent too. Presentation was so intricate and delicate, yet able to fill you up - so kudos to Chef An. The view you get at this fancy restaurant is one of the best views you can get from Penang. A sure-win for any occasion or celebration. My one suggestion is that it would be nice if they could leave a menu of what you are having so that you can refer back.

Fine dining restaurant. We have an outdoor seat because we wearing a wrong dress code. But the view is nice. Too pricey so My friend and I decide to try a dessert only. The dessert is okay. Overall okay.

Had this months ago but forgot to review it. This is fine dining so don't ask about the price. To be fair, the price point isn't out of this world and well within the expected range of fine dining with the quality of food that they serve. First off, i sat outside for the view. At night, with all the twinkling of stars and blinking of lights. Superb. It just rained so the weather was superb. Cold. Windy. Loved the view. Worth every minute i was there. Also there wasn't any dress code for outside. Be warned. Sitting inside will need you to fulfill their dress code requirements. Not difficult but a bit leceh. Haha. Food? Superb. Well cooked. Well seasoned. The dishes came in well timed intervals. Being fine dining, I wasn't expected to be in and out on 30 minutes. Food here is to be appreciated. The dishes came in easily bite sized amount, the plating was balanced. The color works well. Their taste well fitting between all the elements and pieces. Since most fine dining have fixed menu, there no real need to crack your head trying figure out your dinner order. That does make the dining experience much more relaxing Will go again once replenish funds.

View at 38th floor is great. However is kinda tricky as need to change lifts and not air-conditioned. Booked via tableapp and they arranged seaview which was great too. Howevere, would suggest them to have more decorative item/chandeliers to make the ambience feel for exclusive. Do not have the fine dining atmosphere. (P/s: Some of the photos in the google map was in previous building and they have already shifted) The teapot/cups/utensils used are not presentable as the gold lining at the handles are faded. This literally brought their level down as my first impression/appetite was already affected. For those having odd number of customers need to take note as they only get to refill the coffee once and the coffee teapot is taken away..but have to pay the same price! Insufficient staff to serve initially which kept us waiting for about 15mins before the waiter start recommending the tea to choose. Service could be better. Went for the Grand High Tea, food presentation is great but for the price per pax paid, I was expecting more extravaganza.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here. Beautiful set up overlooking the sea. Delicious savory course, sweet pastries and scones. Tea selection is great too! They’re using one of my faves - ronnefeldt. Im surprise by the quality of the savories - hands down! Im just not a fan of a little bit of sourness from the Dream a Little Dream of Strawberry and Apple Chimney. But still good. Eventhough they dont serve clotted cream for the scone - would still rate this 5. Because the scone itself is tasty alone. It has almonds and cranberries. If its just a normal scone i wouldnt love it - cause i need cream on my scone. I requested for the cream but the staff heard butter so i say alright sure butter it is. I finished the scone before the butter arrived but thats okay. We had the tea time on xmas and the theme is just so cute. Xmas tree and winter polar bear inspired sweets. Love love love! They gave us complimentary truffle bomb chocolate and it was the bomb! The staff said its because my friend posted in social media. Those little gestures that sums up an overall experience is amazing. The staff btw are so polite and very attentive! They never missed to refill out teas and always help you to pull the chair when you are about to sit. I love the experience here. Its great and memorable for us since it’s xmas. So glad i found this and i did a very great job on picking this!

(I payed the deposit) they told me was the management problem and gave me some discount, but at least the food was good the price was a bit expensive

We had an excellent dinner at Orinea. We choosevtye six course menu and were not disappointed. The food was beautiful, deliciously and prepared with care. We also choose the wine pairing, a real highlight. The selection of wines had been chosen with care. The service is attentive and very professional. A real delight to dine here!

Great experience. Was looking for a place to have a nice anniversary dinner at last minute, and this looks quite promising from the reviews. We choose the 8 dish journeys for both of my wife and myself, with wine and mock tail pairings on top. Excellent service and great venue and atmosphere. We are quite full by the end of the 8 sets of dishes and desserts. My two favs are the island cod and the lamb loins.

We picked the Journey 6 course - which included 3 entrees, 1 main and 2 desserts. Overall, they do their savoury food really well. Entrées and mains (we had the cod and the duck confit) were both really delicious and full of umami. There is still room for improvement for their desserts though. Service was excellent. The waiter noticed my wife was coughing and kept refilling her cup with warm water without being asked. One thing to note: the restaurant is not very well-lit so half the time we had to use our phone’s torch light to see what we were eating.

The food was delicious and the service was great too. Ive had one of the best Cod in my life. But I was surprised that for a fine dining restaurant like that didn't even provide us any napkins at all. And i wish the lighting would be a little brighter inside the restaurant.

The best dinner for fine dining so far. The food is delicious and the view is nice. I choose set menu with non alcoholic pairing so they serve me 5 different type of mocktail and surprisingly its unique and good. Will come back again. The service is attentive too. They will always check on you if you need anything. Very good.

Overall: this was a beyond disappointing dining experience and feel the restaurant is quite deceitful in its overall web presence. Would advise any future guests and travellers to avoid! What we ordered: 358 RM 9 course 'surprise' chefs tasting menu + non alcoholic drinks pairing Service: Overall the servers were nice, but not very professional. They understood very little about the food they were serving. The server we had, omitted certain items on our plate and when probed further about them would only be able to tell whether they are edible or not (not whether they were part of the taste of the dish). So overall, very rehearsed and robotic service... didn't feel natural, was definitely not happy about the automatic 10% service charge on the meal! Food: Overall the food quality was poor and not worth the money. The flavours were boring and we had some flavours repeat over a few courses, which u don't expect when offered a chefs supposed 'surprise' tasting menu. The food was hardly fit for fine dining with very rudimentary presentation, on one course we had to half deshell a prawn, which is not expected when fine dining. Drink: the drinks which were paired with didn't really match the flavours in our food. They all tasted the same with a lot of them tasting of varied fruits mixed through sprite. They were also not introduced in detail by our server.. Portion size: The portions were also very tight...my girlfriend wasn't even full after 9 courses. Some courses were embarrassingly small. Ambience & setting: The view off the external balcony is a slight redeeming feature of this venue. But there is overall a lack of attention to detail by the staff in the dining atmosphere. We heard utensils being washed behind the open bar, the reception mobile going off often & loudly. The bathroom was also unfit for a fine dining venue in terms of decor and the soap dispenser hadn't even been filled. The background music in the dining room was a loop of Christmas carols quite noisy, noticeable and maddening.

Nice decoration, nice views. Good service and good plating as shown in image. However they are pretty average thus lowering its value for money. Could be a nice place for afternoon tea but haven’t tried them.

Proper fine dining options in Penang are far in between. The view, the borderline secret location, the beautiful presentations, are all top class, but flavours are not that exciting. We loved the server that made sound effects while serving, really gave the place some personality.

We have had a very nice experience at this restaurant. We choose a non vegetarian menu. All menu was very good and few especially the foiegrass and dessert was amazing. Akie was an excellent help and he introduced us in all the menu details. I didn't give 5 stars to restaurant because the fish was not good and beef did not deserve more than 3 stars. Amazing place and a wonderful view over the beach and sea.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Orinea Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The ambiance was exquisite, creating a perfect setting for a memorable evening. The menu selections were diverse and tantalizing, catering to various palates. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that danced on our taste buds. The presentation was artful, and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our meal. Without a doubt, Dine Restaurant deserves a full five stars for delivering an exceptional dining journey that exceeded our expectations. Can't wait to return for another remarkable culinary adventure!

Here is some notes about my experience at this restaurant: (+) located in the 18th floor, they have a nice view, especially in the sunset. Nice & cozy ambiance. The dishes decorations are very detailed. The food is ok, appetizers are impressive to me. My favorite for the main is the cod fish. The foie gras is big one! (-) this is the longest courses I ever had, started at 7:30pm and we are done at 11pm+ (but for only 8 courses, the break between courses are like 15-20mins). Hope they can improve in the future. They even forget my pre-dessert until I asked. I upgraded the lamb in the 8-courses menu for 1xx Rm plus but I did not like this much, so not recommended.

This is my 1st time there. The food was superb and the staff are very helpful and they provide good service too. I request for last minute birthday party decoration, at 1st they reluctantly to do, but then they agreed too as we came all the way from KL for vacation. It’s highly recommended place for a party and family gathering.

Great venue and views. Went there for high tea. Can't believe you are only allowed 1 tea bag for 2 people in a pot. If you want another t bag you have to pay for it. A little ridiculous I think. Service was ok but a pity I hardly understood what the waiters were saying. At these prices perhaps consider paying more for good workers.

I went there with my parents. There are 3 different menus with different prices and they explained how each course was going to be served. Each menu had the choice of upgrades. We all opted to upgrade our menu. What they conveniently left out is that if you upgrade your menu it’s actually the same menu just with different prices. My mom took Journal 4 and me and my dad took Journal 6. We were perplexed that everything was identical and during the dessert course I asked them to explain what the difference in the menu is. They told me that if you wouldn’t have upgraded, the ingredients used would have been different. Given that we all upgraded and didn’t have anything on the basic menu, me and my dad paid more to have the exact same menu course as my mom. It was a highly disappointing way to end the night given that the food is actually not bad. Even when I asked, the server reluctantly said yea if you upgrade your menu then there isn’t much difference between the 2, but had the audacity to say we had already explained the menu to you. Why would you even design a menu that is the same for 2 different prices? I will never be visiting this place again.

We came here in Nov ‘22, to celebrate my wife dinner. It was a quiet Tue evening, we came at 6pm, still bright and hence, we were able to see whole beach scenery from lev 18. The service here was awesome and attentive. At first, we thought that it was French cuisine, turns out it was a bit different, they said it was a “modern cuisine”. The taste was great and suitable for our pallete. The price justified the level of service and food quality. Top notch.

The view from the 18th floor and 270 degree seaview with balcony is the first wow we gave as we entered the restaurant. Then we noticed the deco was very modern and classy. Tables were set with lots of spaces between them. High ceiling and relatively dim lighting to enhance the privacy and romantic ambiance. Food was good. We had a party of 10 and one is vegetarian and she was happy with the food. The scallop appetizer and foie gras starter were really good. Wine list was reasonable considering the tax. We bought a bottle and we BYOB a few and paid corkage.

This is one of the top fine dining restaurants in Penang. Situated in a heritage site, Mission House which dates back to 1870s. A couple of minutes walk from Eastern & Oriental Hotel. While the outside is under refurbishment, there is no disruption to the dining experience inside (we went there for dinner). Inside is modern in style with tables placed spaciously away from each other (something that many top HK restaurants can't manage). Upstairs there is a member only area that is more glamorous and contemporary chic. This time me and my friends tried the tasting menu, including Amuse Bouche + 6 courses, costing RM278. For this price, I could only say that it is up to standard. All the food were nice, but not spectacular. The service is good but not up to the standard of 1885 that featured live pianist throughout the dinner. However, next time, I think I'll go again to try Bespoke Gastronomy Creations, with 10 courses at RM358 (which include Acqua Panna water, coffee or tea) 😆

didnt know i can park inside (i shudve read more before coming😅), had to make 15mins reroute to end up parking illegally at housing area. anyway, ambience wise was so-so, maybe i was expecting too much. saw few plasters on the ceiling dunno its there bcs of repair work or its some sort of abstract decoration that i find not appealing at all. but hey, i dont do art, who am i to comment much about it. view was lovely, went there in the evening for high tea. ordered grand high tea set for two, the foods ok-ok la can eat one. few desserts got like a piece of tiny sheet of gold (around 3-5mm radius?) so i think we are paying high price for those. cant really get what gold taste like. when first arrived they’ll offer u tea bags to choose from. all the tea bags are arranged in a box and the waitress will carry it around the table to have everyone choose their tea. lol i saw bug inside the box like a tiny baby roach? not sure of what bug but it was moving here and there alone in the box. the waitress changed the box i think then only came again to ask us to choose. this is all for the review. if u like to feeling² have high tea by the sea in the sky, can la come here. but for me, dont think i’ll repeat. thank you.

AMAZING service! However, food a let down. The concept is luxurious contemporary, but most dishes were either too bland, too salty and the dessert course left me and my partner coughing and feeling sick as it was way way too thick. Toilet was also pretty gross and dirty. Was it worth RM 368, no. Yes for the amazing service, view and ambience, but otherwise, try others on the list

Located in a block of units on the beach on level 18. Take A elevator and change and level 3. Orinea is a attempt and modern fine dine. However it misses the mark entirely. The interior feels a little 'cheap' and does not have the right vibe that its trying so hard to achieve. The waiters although are nice and try hard are not up to par with knowledge and their communication with customers. The food is bistro level and would get 2 stars the final star is for the view.

The only thing must to remember that is the dress code! Give them 5 stars !!!!! !!!! Very delicious, especially the service and atmosphere at the table are very good. I like their foie gras the most. They are very fresh and love to cook. The taste is unforgettable. The only thing to remember is that you should dress appropriately and don't wear shorts or slippers. The only thing must to remember that is the dress code! Give them 5 stars!!!!!!!!! 非常好吃,尤其桌邊服務跟氣氛都很好。我最喜歡他們的鵝肝,非常新鮮愛料理的也很好,令人難以忘懷的味道。唯一要記得的是服裝儀容也得宜,不要著短褲、拖鞋。

(Translated by Google) The atmosphere and scenery of the shop are good and delicious. It is said that Haiti cannot be provided without a reservation, so I think it is better to make a reservation the day before for the purpose. (Original) お店の雰囲気も景色も良くて美味しいです。ハイティは予約しないと提供できないそうなので、それ目的の方は前日までに予約するとよいと思います。

Came here for high tea, and it’s very creative and tasty. Quite pricey but for the food, the view and the exclusivity I think it deserve the price tag.

Celebrate valentines with my wife here. This is the first time we dine in here, and the overall experience is so good! We booked a 6.30pm session so we can take some nice photo with Gurney drive seaview before sunset. We choose a 6 course menu, although the waitress mentioned the portion is small but they are just good ( slightly over a little bit for my wife) for me. The appetizers are bite size portions, but comes with extremely good stimulation to your tastebuds. I choose medium cooked A5 wagyu (110g) and my wife choose cod fish, they are both so so good! Super recommend to everyone!
