The cashier told me it is the same as the old Hong Kee, only name and owner changed. The taste no longer the same. Last time, we can eat two bowls per person and some side dishes, but now we can't eat more than one mouthful.

This restaurant is under new management. The food does not seem as good as before even though they have retained the same menu. The dry char hor fun is nice though.

The noodles were quite springy. I definitely prefer it over the general wan tan mee. We had the egg tarts as well. Not mind blowingly good but worth a visit.

Signature Tok Tok Mee Tok Tok Mee Bamboo Noodle 📍37, Lebuh Campbell, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia 🍜 Food wise: The fried pork lard was perfectly fried, crispy yet soft, a bite gives off the fragrance of pork. The char siew was soft and succulent, has nice mesmerizing fats on the meat, delicious! These fatty meat are the star of the bowl, juicy and fragrant! The noodles were also cooked to perfection! Q, springy but sauce wise might not be the best. The wantons are big ones! Perfect size for one mouth, a generous amount of meat filling, very meaty, slightly salty, and tastes like eating a meatball, yet again might not be the best. ✨ Ambience wise: Great restaurant! 🤵🏻 Service wise: Great! 💵 Price wise: 6.90 RM

Ordered the shrimp roe wantan noodle, homemade noodle very nice with a springy texture. But the sauce is a dissapointment, lack of sauce and flavour. I have to mix it with the soup or its too dry. Wanton is above average but 水饺, not a big fan. Price is also on the high side.

The best bamboo noodle. We tried Signature Tok Tok Mee soup and dry, and also ordered wan tan soup. Service was good. Just wait around 10 minutes for our noodle to come. There are demonstration on how they make the bamboo noodle at the entrance. We also can smell the fresh pastries emanating throughout the shop. Don't forget to get some on the go.

I found this place when I googled for a nearby open restaurant for brunch, after a hospital morning appointment. I must say that all the good reviews really does represent it well. The place is located at Campbell street. It is clean, spacious, and quite fast service. Although at first we had a little language barrier, the menu is quite clear and explains in quite detail. We already tried several dishes on the menu the Fried Hor Fun, Fried Yi Fu, dumpling soup and wan thun soup, deep fried dumpling. Our favorites are the signature Tok Tok Mee, wan thun soup and the fried hor fun with gravy. My parents loved this place, they can see directly the noodle making process. We also bought some tasty pastry to take away. The price is quite reasonable. Overall, not only does it serve tasty dishes, but it also provides a unique experience of the traditional noodle making process. We would surely love to revisit this place.

Chanced upon this shop selling noodles and dim sum while exploring Georgetown. Love the texture of the noodles and the shrimp roe which reminds me fondly of the shrimp roe noodles I had in HKG. Taste wise not as strong as in HKG. Wanton very juicy and tasty, char siew nicely roasted with right amount of fats for moisture. Fried dumplings were good. Ordered an egg tart and was nice. Also took away kaya puff which was yummy and not too sweet even though I ate it cold by the time I ate in few hours later.

Had a slightly hard time finding the restaurant as I wasn't expecting it to be a small one. Upon entering inside, the interior was pretty cozy, furnished with classic Chinese coffee shop setup. Service was good, didn't have to speak Chinese for the waiter to understand. Ordered the dried shrimp roe noodles, came with 3 generously big wonton. Added on dumplings and fried tofu which tasted more like fishball but overall their food was tasty. Must be the pork lard oil that came with the noodles.

Two things attract attention while stopping at Tok Tok Mee Bamboo Noodle Restaurant, George Town, firstly, customers can see for themselves how the noodles are processed and secondly, almost all the staff are in their 20s. Anyone who comes to travel can stop here to enjoy not only wan tan mee, there are also other interesting menus

The dying art of using bamboo poles to knead the flour when making noodles is what made me curious to try this out in the first place. Apparently this technique of noodle making will ensure the texture of noodles to become springy and chewy. I actually saw a video of this technique on a restaurant in China and it looked like they were riding a see saw. I didn't witness any such activity in this restaurant though! I must say that their roast pork is very good as well but the char siew is only so so. I had the dry noodle on my first visit and came back for the noodle soup on the following day before I left the island.

By the way the owner are kindly and hospitality.

Came here on a Wednesday, 9.30am. We were the first customers. Ordered 3 different wantan noodles. The texture of the noodle is very special and yummy. Egg tarts are nice, too.

Spacious, comfortable and cool interior. I loved their barbeque pork noodle, paired with wonton soup and hot chili oil. Meaty wonton and the texture of noodle was fine. Big portion, too. Plus bonus, watching them traditionally processing the noodle was such a great experience. With good service and affordable price, it worth the quality of lunch. Recommended.

For those who you like to know a little bit more about tok tok mee, this is the place can try it out. Anyway, the tok tok mee here is not the best that I've tried. But still average lah. The wantan dry noodle not come with soup. The wantan very "full of content" and taste good.

The Wonton Noodles I had today at Tok Tok Mee were as good today as they were 5 years++ ago, remiscent of the same I savoured in Hong Kong. I had Wonton Noodles dry. Noodles were QQ, just the way i like it. Soya sauce base was light and just right, not overpoweringly drenched with dark soya sauce the way Malaysians like theirs. I would have given Tok Tok Mee a 5* rating today, if not for the funky-tasting Wonton in my bowl. I should have called out, but didn't want to drum up a fuss during a rather busy and enthusiastic lunchtime crowd. The 水餃 Sui Jiao dumplings in soup were fantastic, unlike the wontons that came with my noodles. Soup was clear, but packed with Umami.

Fabulous noodles. This is a mid-sized (compared to the small hawker-type buildings) with several large round tables and smaller ones as well. You order via app from your table and everything is brought to you. I have been here twice and tried the same thing both times served as a soup and dry and they were equally delicious and fresh. The bbq pork as an add-on only adds to the myriad of flavours. I highly recommend.

Don't let this bowl of humble wan tan mee fool you, it's the best wan tan mee I've ever eaten, best restaurant in Penang. Was so good we had to go twice, the boss recognized us on the second day and gave us some pastries. You haven't been to Penang if you haven't been to Tok Tok Mee Bamboo Noodles.

Not here for the noodles but for the pastries! Their BBQ meat pastry is to die for. I've never had such a great bbq meat pastry and for context I personally don't enjoy meat pastries but theirs really takes the cake. Tastes even better when fresh out of the oven!!

The food tasted good and delicious, but I prefer the same taste I had when the shop hadn't Michelin yet. This time, I went to eat at the restaurant 2 times. I love it And the staff has good service as usual.

Top-notch wantan dumpling noodles, thin and springy texture, tasted wonderful. Dry version but still with sufficient sauce to coat the noodles and served with 3 dumplings. Worth being awarded Michelin Guide eatery. Noodles are kneaded using traditional bamboo pole method. Can find pastries such as signature egg tart, polo bun, custard bun, pandan kaya kok also. This is directly opposite the STFCC.

Fresh made Chinese egg wanton noodle that's bouncy in texture. The only complaint is that my dried noodle was too salty. Perhaps I should opt for the sup version. But I love their fried lard which found on top of the noodles, crispy and flavourful. While there are plenty of pastry to choose from. We ordered lou poh beng老婆餅 and polo bun菠蘿包. We would recommend their polo bun which had a crunchy top and sweet corn custard as the filling.

I came here to try the shrimp roe noodles since it’s looks so good in pictures, however I found that the noodles texture is what worth noticing, it’s really chewy and high quality. Also the wonton is full of meat which is another bonus point, definitely will come again.

Should consider to visit when you are around Georgetown. Good thing is we can see how they make the raw noodle at the entrance. Resto is not so crowded but customers come and go. 49RM total.

If you're looking for classic egg noodle soup then don't miss this restaurant in the heart of George Town Penang! It's been around awhile and a lot of youtubers have also reviewed it but give it a go yourself. It has a fresh 2023 Michelin stick out the front now !! Thin crisp noodles is the star of the show here whether in the dry sauce concoction or in the soup. This is the stuff you would find in Hong Kong ! The chicken wings are very good too!

Fresh made noodles that you can see being made! Tried the signature Tok Tok Mee (pictured) and it was truely delicious, I will find it hard to go back Maggi when I return home 🤭 Also tried the small pastries filled with sweet pork straight from the oven , really next level super hot and flaky pastry great way to finish a meal with a cup of sweet Kopi O Clean with friendly staff and I believe they may have been a notable mention in Michelin ( according to their menu) , not to be missed if you like food or just a good cheap meal.
