Had to ask waiter to refill green tea as they don’t refill it automatically.

This is the first time I have come here after they moved from G hotel. I have always enjoyed miraku and rank them my top 3 in penang. This new place has a better atmosphere due to the high ceiling and an open view looking outside. It seems smaller though. And have lost the 'stalls' but gained the 3 tables outside I presume being for al fresco dining The miraku dinner set comes with a lot of food. The sushi is delicious as always. The fish incredibly fried giving you a nice crackling skin with moist soft fish meat. This takes skill. The tempura is crunchy and well fried as long as you eat it before it gets cold. The Dragon prawn roll with avocado is perfectly balanced and tasty. But seems a bit smaller compared with what I remembered though. Soba was fairly standard with delicious sauce However, I must mention that the unagi rice came with a really kiam siap piece of unagi. You can see from my picture how miniscule portion it came with. But I still gave it 5 stars as the taste was still superb. Well seasoned and superbly cooked eel is hard to do and they did it incredibly well. But they should really give a bigger piece.

The moment the waiter told us to lower our voices, it ruined our dining experience. First of all, we were just chatting normally and not making any loud noises. Even the manager who was bringing in customers spoke louder than us. Most importantly, it was not even a quiet restaurant in the first place, it was not a French restaurant, and all the customers in different tables were speaking. So it just did not make any sense asking us to lower our NORMAL VOICE. In terms of food taste, super basic, the one thing I would recommend is the otoro. The rest were average at most. For this price point, I expect exceptional, not average. Definitely will not be returning any time soon.

Overrated. Not worth the price at all. Food served is very very slow and very small portion. Beef Sukiyaki tasted average. Very small portion (6 slices) of beef, only 2pc toufu in the soup at RM198🫣 Beef Teppanyaki super salty and small portion. Such quality at rm90 🤯 Garlic rice. Very bad 👎🏻 I can taste bits of salt every bite. I don’t even feel like eating although I’m super hungry Rm25 1 large Santori beer for RM40 😶‍🌫️ Rm400+ with service charge for 2pax is too much for such quality.

Ate at the temporary location at g Kelawei Hotel (July 2022) 🍱 but I don’t feel the food is as good as it was when it was back at the old spot (g Hotel) the good quality is still above average, however I feel it’s a bit pricey for what you get and the portions are becoming smaller and smaller (especially the cod fish) 🥲

The new location at G Kelawei is simply horrible. Paid premium, but nothing is premium at all. Service is horrible, ordered a simple garlic fried rice to go with the medium beef cube, beef cube was served and fried rice come after 20 mins with 5 follow up required. Escalated to manager the beef is now cold, received a heated well done chewy steak in return. Asked for a replacement of beef but was rejected. Never bother to ask if food was ok. Served hot plate over children's head. Restaurant isnt full of people, simply below par and not up to the price standard.

Would love to visit there when at 1sr Floor, G Hotel Gurney. Visit back this year , not really friendly staff. Staff macam blur sotong. Only 2 table when I’m there , but the floor serve very slow. The Chinese short guy with coat can even shout to other staff to take order (hawker center mehz) . Last time staff more friendly for real . Things getting more expensive with downgraded service. Staffs with no smile at all. Won’t visit again . Food is ok, because of service, won’t visit again. We didn’t pay for your attitude.

Disappointed with this restaurant at G Hotel… 1) Ordered Aus wagyu beef sukiyaki and came out with big wide strips of fats on the beef. Wagyu beef is about marble fats within the meat, not hugh stripes of fats at the side. The manager refuse to change. 2) I accidentally knocked off a full glass of beer. Apart from cleaning up, they didn't get me a fresh glass, didn't offer me a free one, nor even bother asking if I want another one. 3) The deep fried baby shrimps were cold. 4) Sashimi wasn't particularly fresh. 5) The only dish nice is wagyu beef slice…Ami yaki. 6) I'm a guest at G Hotel and can't even charge the bill to my room. With a bill of nearly $500Riggit for 3 persons is definitely not value for money and definitely not a Japanese restaurant worth being in a 5-star hotel…

Service was slower then a tortoise. Needs 3x reminder to get my tea refilled. 2 side dish got lost. 1 main course was missed out during order. Only saw birthday cake corkage fee was in the receipt, no heads up when serving us plates. All small places was stacked up right infront of patrons on the table while clearing the table. The wait of food was so slow, maybe informing us the waiting duration? Menu variety was towards raw fish, and beef. Taste was ok, acceptable. For that price, i rather eat with peace and great friendly customer service at Zanmai. Won't get stress out to remind the crew we have a missing sides from the course set and other needs. Avoid this place.

Good Japanese food. The last time we were at Miraku is before COVID19. Now they just served ala carte, where before they have buffet during weekend. Hope they can bring back buffet. Anyqay today meal was great, the ambience is good, but air cond is slightly colder than what we can bare. We order moriawase and bento set. The chawanmushi was soft like tofu, unagi rice was great, and the hot tempura soba is tasty. Price wise, its more expensive than expected. Will be thinking twice for the next meal.

I’ve been to this place multiple times over the past 20 odd years, and the most recent visit must have been at least 12 to 15 years ago. I was kinda looking forward to this place after reading about the grand re-opening and decided to book this place for dinner. Well, I must say that I was really disappointed…. The taste of the food was below average - the garlic fried rice was tasteless (though it’s good for kids below 5), whilst most of the dishes were just below average. I’m sorry to say that I won’t be coming back again.

This was my first visit after MCO. Lovely ambience but food was OK nothing wow. Sashimi taste like sushi zanmai standard. Some item increase price compared to previously located in g hotel. Penang has many new Japanese restaurants that impressed me more than here. If u like premium bites, go for omakase that taste better!

They have moved back to G hotel beside gurney plaza. Food quality is good as usual. But the prices have also gone up 30-40%.

We visited there for Omakase Tepanyaki on 19th June. Very well greated by Ms. Elmee Chow. She is extremely courteous and recommended us very good selection. The chef was also very friendly and we chatted. After the meal Ms. Chow again chatted with us for a while. Overall we are very satisfied with the whole meal including sashimi and would certainly be back again when we have another opportunity to be here. Strongly recommend the restaurant to anyone Andrew Lee from Singapore

Great taste and presentation. The beef steak was cooked to perfection, tender medium rare whilst the kaiseki Don was fresh.

Lunch set was really good and reasonably priced. Added on additional sashimi. The fish slices tasted very fresh and in room temperature not frozen fish. Melts in your mouth texture. Good combination of everything in the set.

Japanese food at Miraku Gurney! Great dinner ! The prawn so freshly and well cooked. We had a juicy grilled salmon fish head. The dragon prawn avocado sushi roll was awesome.oyster baked mayo also nice. Least but not last the Suntory beer 🍻 very cooling freshly imported from Japan. I will visit again.

We love the atmosphere and service provided. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We ordered few menus and one of our favourite is the Wagyu Tauban Yaki. The beef was very tender and flavourful.. we’ll come again and try more menu.

We waited for an hour for it and when it arrived before the MCO,very disappointed with the quality of the waygu A3 beef steak with the price we paid. On the other hand, seafood was very fresh.
