Stayed there for one night. Location is good. Receptionist is not that friendly. Bed is comfortable. Facilities is way below average. The breakfast is totally lousy to say the least for the price you pay. Amenities of the room is unacceptable. The shower is strong. No laundry bag, tooth brush and tooth paste or shaver. You have to go out of your room to fill your water bottle with water. The telephone does not have a directory at all. The pool is very small. The lightning is dim. The worse part is the car parking. They claim to have guest parking but only 8 bays for 131 rooms which is totally unacceptable at all.

Room is clean and comfy. Hotel got private parking in front of the lobby and basement car park which located behind the hotel. Friendly staffs. You can easily get local foods with short walking distance. Will repeat my stay at this hotel. Strongly recommended to check in here.

Family room stayed. Spacious and very convenient as all convenient shop and eateries are all within walking distance. Parking is very limited, hotel reserved parking entrance from the back is narrow and need some skill to park in. Hotel is clean and amenities is pretty basic.

It was okay, but the room smelled terrible (809), and the receptionist was not very helpful in assisting. The housekeepers came and sprayed some air freshener but for the whole stay the room smelled really bad, no resolution offered. Today (18/03) the entire hotel and especially the lobby smells awful, like drainpipes, so much so that we cannot sit in there to wait for our transport, sure they have some kind of issue. The housekeeping team were really nice though and the room cleaning service was really good. If the smell issues were sorted then I would be happy.

The hotel's location is excellent, the room is spacious, and the water flow is impressively strong, which is a plus. However, the soundproofing isn't great. Expect to hear cleaning noises starting at 9 AM, including moving chairs and sweeping, for about an hour and a half. The noise quiets down briefly, only to start up again 10 minutes later, making it hard to sleep past nine in the morning. If you don't want your significant other to be upset by the early disturbance, this might be something to consider.

The hotel location was relatively good with a grocery store and some food stalls within a 10-minute walk. But the bathroom smelled really bad all throughout. The wooden tiled floor of the room was moist the full two days that we were there. I guess there was some leakage issue. Not a pleasant experience at all- Not recommended

THIS HOTEL IS NOT SECURE AND IRRESPONSIBLE! My parents spent 4 nights with relatives, during the third night, mom left the room for a sec (dad is inside, while lightly asleep) someone went inside, took my mom's cash in her wallet. Didn't realize until dinner. Went back to the hotel, ask for cctv footage, not allowed unless police is involved but they stated that someone indeed was in the corridor going inside my parents room. Ask for further investigation but the hotel only stated that it wasn't one of their staff, which means that their hotel has no security since anyone can go inside. My parents didn't bother to get the cash back but only wanted to see the cctv footage but they insisted on not showing it and just state that it isn't one of their staff. Definitely not coming back here or even recommending to friends or relatives.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights. The service provided is quite good. The facilities in the room are quite good and comfortable, there are some things that can be improved such as the choice of television channels that tend to be limited. The staff on duty are kind and friendly. The location is also very premium, finding food is super easy. The location also near several hospital, and if traveling on medical purposes this hotel also provides special discounts. Access from the airport is also quite easy and only take about 30-40 minutes.

i really liked the place here, its really clean and well organized but one thing that i highlighted is this hotel gives us free water dispenser that saves us alot of money for not buying 1,5l bottles. for the negative part i think the hotel should pay more attention for the facilities (gym, pool, etc) since most of the gym equipment are broken already

For the price it was good. Comfortable room, good aircon that you can control and which was quiet, so important. The main thing that brought us here was the price, as we were staying elsewhere before that was more expensive. So if price is your consideration this is definitely a great option. Our room decor was a bit dark which seemed a strange choice of colour scheme but it didn't really matter. Friendly staff, good location.

Location was great, rooms are big. But the bathroom doesn't have a shower cream I guess because both of the bottle appears to have SHAMPOO written on it. Restaurant, Swimming Pool, Gym and meeting room are located at level 1. However it is a good hotel, great place for family in my opinion

These people rescued me at midnight as I had booked and paid for another hotel online which was a fake booking. Check in was super efficient and friendly. You need to use your key card to activate the lift. The room is huge, too big if anything. It was very clean with a fridge, kettle, jug for water which is by the lift. A desk and 1 chair (odd if 2 people want to sit and drink coffee), a very comfy bed with clean linen and big pillows. The wet room was excellent with a rain shower, shampoo and toothbrushes. I didn't see the point in having such a big room which is mostly empty, maybe I should take up yoga or pilates. Although this didn't spoil my stay.

Very smelly toilet in the room, the room is huge and good. The breakfast is not worth the money at all. No breakfast choices for foreigners. Only 2 options of local noodles and toast. The tea and coffee were pre-made and tasted like water. Breakfast is a complete waste of money.

The hotel itself is in a good location. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The biggest let down was the breakfast. I appreciate that with Covid most places have scaled back operations but this is farcical for western travellers. Coffee and tea are pre-made. Both are extremely weak, there are no tea spoons, just small stirrers. The food choices are for the Asian market, rice porridge, fried rice, friend noodles, hard boiled eggs ( pre boiled and cold ) and bread to make your own toast. No cereals, no milk, no pastries and certainly no cooked western food. For cutlery there are no knives. I spoke to the worker at the reception and complained, I asked about cereal at least. He said they would try for me. This morning there was no options nor feedback and it is clear this is a budget hotel now not a 3* Travelodge and certainly not interested in accommodating requests from customers. I would give the breakfast service 1 * and can't believe they charge $9 AU from the booking site for this. This is not poor service, this is theft!!!!!! Edit, I should add that the staff were great. Polite and helpful. Especially the security staff at the front entrance.

The room is spacious and equipped with open space concept in bathroom. The check in experience was frustrating due to a major issue with Agoda booking as they used third agent. The breakfast was insufficient and lacking, as it goes all the way down the the basics. Breakfast does not service it’s value.

Your basic hotel in a good location accessible to lots of food places. Room is comfortable with two queen beds and is clean. Bed and pillows are nice and firm. The hotel has a few on site parking lots and there are curbside parking along it side road. The hotel has no in house dining but no worries plenty to eat for breakfast lunch or dinner.

From the outside, it looks like a new hotel. The room was okay but the bathroom is very dirty. The wall looks like it is not been cleaned for a long time. I feel like I want to buy Clorox spray the toilet’s wall or teach housekeeping how to clean the toilet. I don’t expect too much because of the price I paid. However, the cleanliness is very disappointing. I will never come to this hotel again.

This hotel well situated in the center sector of Macalister road. A long the road many cafe, resto, food stalls, shops, marts. The rooms it self is clean. We are 3, get a room with 1 king/queen size bed, + 2 twin beds. Sofa in the centre. It is spacious. If you are on a family vacation trip, I highly recommend this hotel.

✅What i like is Room is okay, clean, comfortable just not spacious, a lot of cafe and restaurants nearby to explore food. Also they have 3M filtered water dispenser which you can top up as much as u can. ❌What I dislike is parking is nightmare, road to go basement parking is narrow, and only 7 space available for basement parking, and i don’t recommend breakfast here, it’s so lousy.

The staff was kind enough to give us an available room even though we arrived early for check-in so we can drop our luggage before we start exploring the area. We got Room 711, the room was spacious for both of us. Our view was the mountain and buildings which was nice. Aircon was superbly cold, we didn't sleep with the aircon on. The bathroom though was dark for my liking as it only has one lightbulb. Would be great if they can add an automatic lightup mirror.

The room is rather dirty, especially the bathroom. You can tell that yhe cleanliness is not maintained well by the mirror, the bathroom wall, and when we first entered the bathroom is smelly. But the location is good. Lots of foodcourts, convenient stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc

The room was clean, but I got a noisy room on the first floor because there was a small bar playing music with too loud sound. I complained twice but got no response. It was already one o'clock in the middle of the night! Fortunately there was room available to change met a good staff . But it is very convenient t o find food near the hotel and there is plenty of food to eat.

It was my second time staying in Travelodge ever since my last stay pre-COVID in 2018. I love the hotel rooms as it is generally much bigger than the average hotels that I stayed in other countries. The hotel staffs were all very friendly and it was very convenient to get around in the vicinity. There are many eateries, convenience stores and pharmacies within walking distance – it is really a very strategic location to stay at along Jalan Macalister.

Aircon not cold even after turn on for anhour. Toilet with small light bulb dark tiles that even u open the door on the lights still very dark inside there is no window, receptionist told me even u upgrade the room all toilet are the same. I have to book another hotel for the entire trip. The only good thing is its near nice food area. Disappointed

Thr location was very good as it was near the bus stops and town. Walking distance to restaurants and food stalls. Room was basic and clean. However, my room was at the 2nd floor next to the motorbike workshop and the revving of the motorbike is very loud and can be heard from my room.

I like the hotel stay very much but I don't encourage people to take their breakfast. Very disappointing. By 9am, there is only fried rice, porridge and toast bread. Very good location in the centre of George Town. Rooms are small, yet quite modern, but modest. Good for tourists. Very reliable and fast Internet. There is also lots of food around 24 / 7. And a nice coffee shop (Zus) which opens at 07:00.

Location is quite strategic with nearby foodstall and within walking distance to New Lane foodstall. Rooms have tiny window and not so clean. Guests are expected to self-wash borrowed cutlery and cups. Buffet breakfast has very limited option.

The Travelodge Georgetown in Penang offers a comfortable and convenient stay for travelers exploring this vibrant Malaysian island. It's a great choice for those seeking a central location in George Town. The hotel's rooms are well-appointed, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere after a day of exploring. The clean and modern design adds a touch of luxury to your stay. The hotel's location is a definite plus, as it's within easy reach of George Town's historical sites, street art, and a wide range of dining options. Exploring the city's rich cultural heritage is convenient from this central hub. While Travelodge Georgetown offers an overall comfortable stay, it's not a luxury hotel. However, it provides excellent value for the price, making it a practical choice for travelers looking for a cozy and well-located base for their Penang adventures.

I went there for a stay a while ago, the Travelodge Hotel is located in the heart of George Town. Easy for tourists to head out to look for local foods and famous hotspots. However a few concerns I had during my stay, the only parking they provided is in front of their building which as what I can see can't park up to even 10 cars. They seem to have an indoor parking but it's closed for some reason. The receptionist adviced me to park in one of those yellow box (public parking), but as we're unsure about it since we might get a fine etc. But it's better then parking behind the hawker centre next door. Yes I understand it's private property, but RM20 for a parking spot is just outrageous. Anyways, back to the hotel. It's a decent hotel, nothing fancy or too cheap. There's a cafe on the second floor but it's closed when I visited. The staffs are very friendly. Overall can't really complain considering the price of the stay. One advice, if you can't find a parking, whatever you do don't park at the hawker centre that's beside the building.

Hello sir I just checked in on 7/11/21 into a family room but facility wise was poor. Bathroom no tub only standing shower. And no glass panel to close the shower place so water from the shower are all over the bathroom. Toiletries are not fully equiped such as toothbrush. Only upon request, the hotel management only will provide.

Guys, this hotel is not provide any parking ya. FYI, the parking in front of the hotel lobby is very2 limited. First come first serve basis. Less than 8 cars can occupied at a time. They have numbers of room but the parking is limited. Crazy. Side walk parking also always full. U come for holiday to release out your stress, ended up u will getting more stress just to park your car. Please update your website about your limitations number of parking. If i knew it earlier, i wont come to this hotel. Just spoiled my holiday.

Travelodge Hotel is Just Strategic place to those wish to walk over thru all penang street foods. (Around 9km) If some as below improve could be extraordinary, 1.Lane number not reachable all the time. Luck if you get 2.Room not sound proof (You will hear other rooms noise and sound) 3.On and Off hot shower 4. Next to hotel you may get Famous wakzee nasi lemak 5.Parking is very limited - Front and back of hotel. - But receptionist unable to update availabilities of parking - If sunday you may get free public parking. (if not u have to pay thru Penang smart parking apps)

Bad smell (mixture mold & toilet) are welcoming us when we enter the room. Telephone port is spoilt, the telephone unit just a decoration in the room I guess. Toilet look dirty. Limited car parks. 2 stars for the strategic location. Water pressure is good.

Very poor service. The receptionist told me that the room is not ready even though I checked very late at 5pm. He told me to wait as the room is still being cleaned. Before hand, I stayed for 3 notes and the hot water is not functioning at all. The room is not well equipped and lacking of maintenance and not worth to pay such monies. This hotel is worsen that local 2-3 budget hotels around in Penang. This is last time to stay at this hotel and will not dare to book travel lodge hotel elsewhere! 👎👎👎

Very disappointed with this hotel . I pay RM278 per night. The parking was limited. The room was so small. The breakfast was given in a lunch box . I was expected buffets service. Breakfast only can take 2 pax. Talk about swimming pool was so so small. I can’t take a swimming seen very crowded. The worst thing is iron box part. I need to go ground floor for iron my shirt. Should provide each floor . -1/10 rating . Totally like BUDGET hotel with expensive price.

The bedsheets are dirty, dont know if they changed it anot. The staff is not very friendly, they will stand there at corridor and stares at you which is kinda creepy. The room and the toilet smells bad and is dirty as well. There is parking lot in front and behind the hotel but it’s very small and always full.

Likes: 1. Spacious room even for standard single. 2. Spacious lavatory with a separation of toilet and shower areas. 3. Professional, nice and polite staffs. 4. Adjacent to numerous Chinese resturant, hipster coffee joints, local non-Halal foodcourt, nasi kandar joints, local banks, and convenience stores. BUT, there is one Halal breakfast joint in the foodcourt beside this hotel where they sells banana leaf covered piping hot nasi lemak. Very delicious and cheap. Pictures attached. 5. Functional heater and wifi. 6. Fridge and coffee maker are available. 7. Shelve for luggage storage is available. 8. Watet filter dispenser is available. If you wanna drink from this water outlet, I would recommend to boil it first and make your hot drinks. 9. Signage is easy to identify. 10. There are 4 power plugs; 2 beside the bed each (one of the plug has 2 USB slots), one at the desk/coffee table, and one beneath the TV. The ones beside the bed is very convenient and charging friendly where a patron does have to move the body to reach the gadget, providing that your wire length is proportional to the distance. Dislikes/Area to Improve: 1. Shower floor can be cleaner. 2. TV only airing local channels. No movie channels, not even a single one. 3. Room is not sound proof. 4. Some guests does not have any manner when they use the whole corridor for luggage pick-up and load-off.

Hotel located strategically in the heart of Georgetown. Accessible to anywhere. Aircond was good. I like the rain shower. The bed and pillow make u sleep better. The lobby just basic. Cafe not open at this time writing. They have packed breakfast like Nasi Lemak, Nasi Tomato, Mihun Singapore etc. Just RM12. I pick Mihun Singapore during my stay. You can add in this breakfast for total bill during your stay here. No mineral water provided in the room. You can get the 3M filtered water at the lift lobby. They also provide you small jug, nescafe and tea sachet as well as heater and sugar. You can iron your shirts etc at level G area. Carpark can accommodate like roughly 20 cars at one time but no worries you can park ur car at nearby parking. The only thing is u can hear people talking next room and moving the chairs. My suggestions is out half carpet on the chair area so that less noisy. Guest also should respect other guests privacy as well. Minimize make noise. The housekeeping doing very good job. The reception and the guard very polite and welcoming. The wifi very strong. I dont watch TV due to limited channels. Im bringing my tab watching Netflix before go to bed. Overall the price is very reasonable.

Very impolite front desk staff in the early morning shift on check-out date( same as check-in time) The day we check-in , he said we had to pay for the deposit but actually it was the government tax ( He just want to make it fast and unclearly explained). When we check out , we ask for the deposit , he just said nothing and told me to go to the security guy. After that he was in a hurry for smoking. So so bad. For the room, the restroom was not clean and tidy. You may see many black dots around the shower area. Never come back again.

Stayed for three nights here. Very great location. If you are on a culinary trip, this hotel is just right as food courts are everywhere along the street. Services from hotel staffs are excellent and exceptionally friendly. Two tiny glitches: -stayed in room 607 and it's bathroom had awful sewer-smell from the drain. -the door lock didn't work properly. Couldn't scan the card. No, not because I kept it together with phone. Technician had to come in and worked with it. I were offered another room and it was perfect, no smell, door lock worked.

Housekeeping do a great job,the room is a 5*. Love how the hotel provide water dispenser instead of water bottle, unlimited water refilling. Water pressure and temperature is heaven. Room is spacious for a family of 4. Reception- fast check in and check out too. Eventhough the hotel have extremely limited space parking but the team is helpful to ensure we have a peace of mind. That didnt prevent us to have a family bonding while we are there. Had a hard time in scanning the key card in the lift but small issue 🤣
