📍Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng Who doesn't know this Mee Goreng? Here's a legend that stands tall, a god amongst men. Claimed by many locals to be the best, it is undeniable that the skill displayed in preparing the fried noodles is impeccable. Their beginnings are quite a story.. Even since the Japanese Occupation has this family been going on with the hot wok of fried noodles. Zakariah, the founder of this trade, and the grandfather of the current chef, started this stall 80 years back. Now, Sabik Ahmad happens to be the 3rd generation to be continuing this trade. They don't only sell 'Mee Goreng'; they sell a story, a powerful history through their cooking. The legendary Mee Goreng will finally be relocated after 31 August 2021. Will it still retain its strength when it is relocated elsewhere than Bangkok Lane?

This famous mee goreng mamak, recently moved to New World Park because the old shop lot owner want to renovate the shop for 6 months. So the mamak boss moved to this new location. The mee goreng is still the best ever in Peneng. The spicy red chilli with the tofu and sotong is the best to eat it while it's still hot on the spot.

If you want to taste the truly Malaysian style of multicultural food, or if you are getting bored of the usual Penang food, you should come here for a try. I will try to review according to my posted photos. First order the Rojak Pasembur with udang besar (fried big prawn) which I have never tried with other rojak before. You can also add sotong as usual. Second order the indian style of Char Kuey Teow. Although the duck egg CKT in Penang is still my favourite, but this indian CKT is still better than many other KL CKT. Third must order mee goreng sotong. Squeeze the right amount of lemon into it and mix well, the taste of the mee goreng just ngam ngam hor (means just perfect in hokkien)! Lastly, you would not want to miss the malay style Hokkien Mee (prawn mee). Taste not bad as it can still beat other KL prawn mee hehe :-)

Bangkok lane Mee goreng is one of the more authentic mamak style mee goreng that you can get in Penang. Strategically located at new world park food court, it's just a stone's throw from the city center. The stall primarily sells 2 types of dishes; Mee goreng and Mee rubus. You can then opt to further jazz up your meal with toppings of chicken, squid, shrimp or egg. The prices are clear as day on the board, so don't be afraid of being swindled. Additional toppings of lettuce are foc. Do not be put off by the red color as that gives the dish the flavor. For an authentic penang food experience, I'd highly recommend that you give this place a shot. Do note that these types of food are a dying breed these days in Penang.

Same great awesome taste! Today Uncle was in and dished up my plate of Mee Goreng Sotong. I remember I used to visit in the afternoons for my fix after meetings.

Not like the normal fried noodle u would have had before, it’s a wetter version and of cause without wok hei, nevertheless it tasted good, 1 thing i dont like about this noodle…it tasted rather sweet to me, the amount of ingredients they gave are very generous, ingredients vs noodle scaled to 3:2, i like the fried cakes & sotong they put in. Toufu is going bad, tasted a bit sour. Max rating at 5 Cleanliness : 3/5 Speed : 4/5 Price : acceptable Portion : 4/5 Crowd : packed Taste : 3.5/5

Massive, tasty and filling. For anyone unconcerned about calories this is the place to be. Cheap mee goreng that's absolutely delicious. Noodles are citrusy and flavourful. Very delicious and one plate can easily be shared between 2. The rebus is also quite good as the special has a lot of large prawns in it for only 7rm. Excellent place for breakfast/lunch would visit again.

The mee goreng not goreng upon order but is ready in a big bowl, rm10 per plate which is too expensive and taste is not nice at all. First and last time order! Very disappointed.

One of the best mee goreng sotong. Theirs is on the dry side and a bit of wok hei. The spiciness of sotong and chewiness of it just to my liking. Complete it with the ice nutmeg juice, perfect 👌.

Ordered a chicken w/sotong mee goreng, one tapau normal and another tapau mee tambah. Freaking expensive. Come out just for 2 bag of mee goreng is Rm32. WTH. I would rate zero if I have to.

Delicious taste Mee Goreng. Normal flavor is suitable for adult and kid. Recommended Indian fried noodle.

Mediocre mee goreng compared to its heyday. Wanted mee goreng with egg, but was pushed to get either mee goreng with chicken or additional sotong instead. The noodle is wetter than usual and there are better ones around for cheaper.

Used to be good at the real location of Bangkok Lane but when someone else took over the frying, the taste went down and I stopped going. Now they have relocated to New World Park but the taste didn't improve due to others frying it. Sometimes the actual owner is frying it, it's better. The problem is when others fry it, they didn't fry long enough to get the taste better. I've watched it so I know the reason why it's taste went downhill. If you see the owner, he's older and almost bald but tall, get him to fry for you. I did.

The Indian mee stall here has been around for decades though the boss no longer fries the mee himself & has helpers doing it. Taste may not be as good but is still ok. For RM7, one gets quite a big plate of mee goreng with egg & an extra portion of sotong. Two small eaters can actually share a plate. The shop also has a halal hokkien mee stall operated by a Muslim couple & the taste is surprisingly good. The koay teow thng here is quite tasty while the Indian pasembur is another crowd favourite.

It was introduced by the grab driver, he was kind as it was famous and he heard our conversation as we are looking for mamak goreng. Unfortunately the food was just average to us. Their drink untasty too, not rich and too sweet. Fast serving, reasonable price just not satisfied. May due to expectations too high.

Dishonest hawker. Ordered Mee Rebus with sotong that costs RM8. Collected RM10 from me but did not give back the balance. When asked, I was told to wait. When food is served, I was told it was RM10

Bangkok Lane mee goreng has been recommended as one of the " best mee goreng" in Penang. If this was Penang's best,I cringe to think how bad their worst would be. If you think their mee goreng was bad, you should try their Pasembor, that takes a bad dish to a whole new level! The gravy was so watery that I didn't even need to order myself a drink. If I could rate a negative number, I would! KL definitely has better food.

Their mee goreng mamak used to be much tastier years ago when they were at their original place. Not bad but it used to taste way better.

The pasembor sauce too sour, can't eat. The mee goreng is just so n so only. I still like the taste of Mee Noor.

Not recommended. We ordered 'biasa' portion suddenly came with added on portion. When you told them that's not what you ordered, the botak man will insist to listen to you and charge you with whatever so called medium /large portion (which did not mentioned on the menu board). The food not so tasty anyway.

One of the best mee goreng in Penang. They’ve moved from original location. However here parking is easier and place is huge and well ventilated. Get your food fast too
