See from photo, Including root beer float, Total Rm33, to be eaten by two person. Kind of... Expensive. Not enough to eat. What happen??? The root beer with float@ice cream, Cheese hot dog really taste good. Just, your price is increasing non-stop.. Coney dog is good, but this package is cheese hotdog. Fries, need improvement, especially curly fries, not as nice as last time.

Been long time since I last visited any A&W outlet. Tried the spicy fried chicken. Taste really good with strong spice flavour. Seating areas mostly high stools and high tables. Overall is above average. Root beer float is great as always.

The food items here are quite good, something different than the usual fares that you get from other fast food outlets. The coney dog is quite nice, the sausage tastes really good and matches well with the gravy. The curly fries are a bit salty though. The rootbeer float is really refreshing. Ample seatings available. The service at the counter is a bit slow, feels like the place is understaffed. Located at the lower ground of 1st Avenue.

Take out for the root beer and the chicken bites. Just for a quick bite. I must say, the chicken bites are so good compared the McD. I can't wait to try the curly fries, burgers and other orders in the near future.

1st visit after a few years. Used to visit the branch in Mydin mall. Chicken burger quite dissapointed because of chicken fillet texture very hard. Coney good. Sesame nugget also taste very nice with curly and fries.

Nothing can beat the classic A&W root beer float. I ordered the chicken coney combo set this round and the curly fries are good too!

Well well well. Who doesn't know A&W? Famous for its root beer and hot dogs. Unfortunately when i visited recently, the connie dog was out of stock so I settled for Mozza burger set meal, which comes with another legendary drink - root beer float! I hardly eat at A&W so I must say probably that is why the Mozza burger taste pretty ok considering the fact that this is a fast food restaurant. Love the crispy stuff they put inside the burger, a thin piece of crispy cracker, so that kinda make it special and differentiate itself from other fast food chain burgers. Everything is what I am expecting from A&W, will probably be back for another round for the connie dog! But take note, it is getting rare to find A&W restaurant around Penang so do try and check them out while it is still around. Younger generation kids may not really know A&W since it is not as common as McDonalds and KFC. Why do I rate it as 4 stars? It is because I know what to expect from A&W and as long as the legendary stuff like the root beer float, curly fries and Connie Dogs still taste good, it is a 4 star for me. There is no way I am gonna judge A&W based on the fried chicken and normal french fries when we all know there are definitely better ones out there. After all, we always go for a certain restaurant brand for its own speciality, right? 25 Feb, 2024 update: finally return again after 3 years and I managed to get the root beer float and coney dog! Yessss! Coney Dog was kinda below expectation. The gravy or sauce is not enough and overall taste not as flavorful as I would like it to be.

Quite disappointed with the burger but the fries and root beer is nice. The restaurant need to improve thier cleanliness, a lot of flies in the restaurant. The counter services is bad, but probably she just a part timer so cannot expect too much. The price is consider higer compare to McD and KFC.

Good food and affordable. Prices are affordable as it is a big portion. The staffs doesnt seem be friendly nor welcoming.

The best place for root beer as it is served in a chilled mug. Having a sip yields maximum satisfaction, especially during hot weather or after hours of shopping in mall. Curly fries and onion ring taste real good and go well with the root beer.

Now is post covid, i think you guys need to improve efficiency in service. Because i feel you guys understaffed. 3 staff only during lunch service. Other than that, everything is good. Clean and friendly staff.

Ordered Spicy Aroma Chicken and coney mashed potato. Chicken are very fresh and juicy. 👍🏻

1st time having food at A& W, also think it is the last. Had to come back since yesterday when they were closing in a house they had limited options, burger and fries, after waiting in line for 5 to 10 minutes to try to order. Today i was able to order, and although my food was made quickly i did not get it for 20 minutes. Taking orders and receiving your food takes awhile here due to only one teller and cook. They also did not have any ketchup but didn't mention that when i specifically asked for it. Also, to my slight surprise they only serve root beer soda, which i suspected, but was told they have coke on both days. Curly fries were not warm.

Sept 2023- friendly staff and super good food. Very helpful cleaning staff lady. She always quickly cleans a table after customer left. Food is as usual very tasty. Root beer is so good. Recommended. But maybe it could be better if the aircond is strong or has air purifier because the place is compact and felt like less air ventilation.

Root Beer floats and Connie Dogs always my reason for A&W but, never in this outlet anymore. Order takers (Diyana) was so nasty and rudeness attitude shown. As a A&W fan's I expect to have good meal unfortunately the staff's turn me off but, not all of them. I'm just asking to get my order right as I believed every country have different sets. Anyway A&W will be still one of my favorites but not in Georgetown Penang.

Managed to fight through against all odds and return to Penang. Has been famous for their Root Beer Float and curly fries. The hot dogs are amazing and cheesy fries is as great as ever. The meal would not complete without nice root beer float. Located at lower ground of the mall. Menu includes variety of burgers, fried chicken and delightful desserts like waffle and ice cream.

Good old American fast food! Loved the root beer, coney dog, waffles, onion rings and curly fries! Normally do not really drink soda but had a whole mug of root beer by myself!

Damn good root beer float. Never had one before and now I can't wait for another. Weird. Wonderful. Get it down ya.

A&W has reopened in Penang island after disappearing for a few years. Thus, the queue was quite long when i went over but. Service rendered by the staff was good as well.

Staff is absolutely disguting and discriminating. Only speaks Malay despite knowing some Chinese customers cannot speak Malay. Waffles take 30 mins to make per waffle, not informing customers of the order time. After waiting 30mins for waffles, we are served raw waffles that are uncooked. Malay male staff also seen handling food without wearing gloves. Pure disgusting. Threw my food away and left

burger and drink is fine, i order the original chicken, instead of giving me a original one, it gave me a more spicier than the spicy chicken. i also told the staff to remove vegies in the burger but i dont think they follow my instructions. i cant tell if they forgot or what, the environment is good tho...:)

This particular staff served me uncooked waffles which took him 30mins to make and I had to remjnd him of my order twice. Also saw him removing waffles from the maker with bare hands WITHOUT GLOVES AND NOT USING ANY TOOLS. FEEL FREE TO EAT HERE IF YOU DEEM HYGIENIC

The restaurant still keeps its A&W vintage retro style, reminiscent of your childhood memories. I ordered chicken coney, overall the taste was acceptable, but the buns were too soggy, and the seasoning was average, nothing is special. However, french fries with cheese were surprisingly tasty. Of course, the signature root beer, I ordered float, it was superb! Holding a huge mug of root bear, drinking fiercely like a viking warrior, that's something you must imagine while chugging a huge mug of root beer in front of other diners. Overall a chilling atmosphere to chill with your buddies with a mug of root beer.

At first, so far everything is OK. Unfortunately when I unwrapped my sandwich then I saw this big non chopped lettuce that they served it to me. Very disappointed

Not bad overall， short waiting time, plenty of seats and polite customer service. Foods are actually normal
