Delicious and popular with locals and foreigners On holidays in the morning there will be a lot of people. The restaurant has photographs for many of the celebrities who have eaten at the restaurant. I think , original taste of laksa I don't know what it is, but for me, each shop has different ways of doing it. Differently delicious Must try!!!!

Laksa Chendol Rojak 🍜 Food wise: Chendol had a strong gula Melaka taste, soft sweet delicious kidney, and red beans, the green chendol was firm and soft! Very good dessert for the hot weather. Penang Asam Laksa had a strong aroma and taste from mackerel. The broth was sour and flavourful. The rice noodles were chewy, very Q, and thick. Needed a few bites to break it down into smaller chunks. It had onions, cucumber, chili, mint leaves, and minced sardines. This dish was probably not for me mackerel. It depends on each person's preferences. Rojak had mangoes, pineapple, tau pok, cucumbers, and tunip, quite generous portions and they were soft and savoury! The sauce was not only sweet but it also had the taste of prawn paste! Delicious! ✨ Ambience wise: Little squeezy but good enough for food! 🤵🏻 Service wise: Great! 💵 Price wise: Laksa: 6.50 RM Chendol 4.40 RM Rojak 8.50 RM

This is the first chain establishment of the famous Penang Road Teochew cendol. Service is quick. Touristy prices. Cleanliness could be better. Stuffy & uncomfortable for long periods. Always a crowd. The cendol somehow doesn't taste the same. Rather diluted. We also tried their char kway teow, asam laksa & oyster omelette. All were pretty good & freshly made. The kuih bakul was yummy as well with the soft oozy nian gao. Overall worth a visit but the crowds can be a pain.

Good sweet cendol, tasty fruit rojak and addictive (and expensive) deep fried battered bananas. The quality of the food is good and worthwhile especially if you're a tourist in search of local Penang food. It took us a while, barely 10 minutes, before we got a seat. The custom is the moment your food and drinks arrive, you'll have to pay the server or vendor in cash. While the seating arrangements inside are cramp, the establishment is old and has a lot of history. The servers and vendors were friendly and efficient.

If you want to have the quintessential experience of a cold dessert by the road side, then this is the place. I know a lot of people will tell you it's a tourist trap. It's true in a way but so is everything when they get famous. My advise is first to stay away from their franchise that you see in malls. It's a pathetic reproduction of their taste you get at their original stall. And unless absolutely necessarily, I wouldn't go into their shop that you see down the road. The experience of dealing with the stalls and ordering of their food will just make your experience stressful and painful. In short, queue up, have fun looking at humanity bunched together by the roadside having Cendol in a disposable container, sweating in the heat and occasionally hear the honks of cars as drivers try to navigate the small road through the sea of people.

Always good in flavour but zero customer service. It is the most favourite eatery in Penang that every queue for it chendol. Dine in option got laksa, rojak and many other street food options.it is a tourist spot, so sometime the staff can be rude. The store across from them are equally tasty.

There was a huge queue outside waiting for the takeaway chendol but thankfully there is also a shop that you can sit down and eat. So that is what we did We had the chendol and also the rojak The chendol was fine but overall the place is really cramped and small and not very well ventilated , so it’s not that nice on a hot day

Thehe dine in place was very busy, chaotic and hot. Cendol is fresh and nice, but other food I tried such as laksa, it's totally tasteless; pai tee and the popiah, I'm so not use to the wet vege texture, so I give it a 1 star for those.

The laksa looks good even on my picture but it is the most disappointing bowl of laksa , two mouth and I cant continue with overcooked “ lai fun” , it was suppose to have a chewy smooth texture, this just disintegrated in the mouth. Told them and they did offer a new bowl but they precooked laksa noodle in big batch ! Im not going to wait for another fresh batch of noodle to be cooked frm scratch. ( they didnt do it anyway ) Too much food to have n too little time to spend on sub par food. The Chendol was still above average I must say. But the service was meh, there were just 3 of us in the shop and they still took my order wrongly where I didnt want my Chendol w red beans. Probably not coming back anymore. Strike off from my to go list in Penang.

Good food, city centre, price is good. Parking is a headache. Lots of cars passing by on a tourist street! Asam Laksa to me is just so so, a little overrated the broth is watery and not flavourful. Ha Peng(prawn cookies) & Lo Bak much better than the noodles. Price wise not expensive. Cendol is to come back for 👍🏻

Very famous and very delicious dessert they are selling. Chendol is iced sweet coconut milk and palm sugar syrup with green rice flour droplets and some adzuki beans. Although they have some proper franchise store selling similar dessert, but I always find that here served the best. The sweetness of the coconut milk and syrup are just right for the overall dessert. Now you can buy the dessert and eat it inside the coffee shop next door. Inside the coffee shop have others popular Penang food which are not bad as well for a try at one go in a place. Think they have other digital wallet payment other than cash payment.

Looks like they have expanded since I last visited. The main shop and the street were crowded. More of the other shoplots converted for dining. You can place your order from the main shop and they will deliver to your table, wherever you are dining or can do self service if you do not want to wait. We do not have to wait for table at 4pm. The chendol was still as good as ever. Forever with a long queue. The assam laksa was just so so...more chilies than fishes but the soup was tasty. Lobak stall missing the actual meat rolls...so I gave it a miss. Yam cakes and chai kueh was passable too. Service was fast though.

Had a very long queue even in the rain. Their cendol not as delicious as before. Got myself a table inside the building and order their famous Asam Laksa and fruit rojak. The laksa is not up to my standard, gravy or soup is watery. Not much mackerel meat in their soup. The fruit rojak was ok ok.

The queue has never been short. There are some stalls that also sell chendul but only this one has a long queue. I tried The Famous Penang Road Chendul and the one right opposite it and i like the opposite one better, it fit my taste and you don't have to wait for a long time.

Here for the cendol, it's was long queue but it's quite fast. Personally I think the quality has dropped but is still a must try if you are first timer to Penang. It's cooling to have this dessert in the afternoon. The main shop near to the stall are always pack but there's another options few shops away from the stall where you can find a comfortable place to sit and dine. If you are not sure where is it, feel free to ask around.

Since this place is labeled as "must-try" for Penang, here we came! We dined in and ordered the famous cendol, char kueh teow and fried oyster. The cendol is pretty average, as in, we can get something similar elsewhere. I am more used to Melaka's Nyonya cendol with thicker Gula Melaka flavour, but this is purely my personal preference. The char kueh teow is standard, comes with 2 big prawns. The fried oyster is good, with generous amount of fresh oysters. The dine-in place is very crowded and really narrow. The whole waiting-for-seat and food ordering process was pretty messy. However, after settled down, the food serving time was quite fast. Price wise, standard "tourist" hawker stall price.

I passed by earlier but saw long queue and hardly to find parking so I visit another place first. Around 3pm+ I purposely come again. Managed to find parking and the queue lesser. Good things even we have to queue but the staff do work really quick. I’m not chendul type of person but I would say yes indeed taste great. The taste “ngam” with all the ingredients. No wonder a lot of people willing to queues. Will I wait in long queue for it? 🤔😆

Tried variety of food. Assam laksa was disappointing, flavour was not intense enough. The chendol, other than sweet was not lemak enough. Char koay teow, although had enough wok hei, was a tad too moist. Fried fishballs from loh bak stall tasted weird so we didn’t finish and prawn fritters over fried. Curry mee was not bad, my first time trying it so unsure if it was the best. Only saving grace was the fried oysters, the oysters were fresh without the strong fishy taste. On second thoughts, should have stuck to original plan of eating at Penang Road Famous Laksa and had the chendol as takeaway.

This is so good! We were late and luckily managed to get the last bowl for the day, with extra ingredients! The entire bowl was super fragrant with coconut milk and gula melaka. I really love the red beans they used which were super big and added such a nice texture to the dish. Will return on my next trip!

Not just the yummy chendol, the fried oyster, that crispy ball with fillings and rojak is very good too. Affordable and yummy. Challenge is to get a seat. If you manage to get a seat, you can skip the long long I under the sun. Uncle will take your order and bring it to you. While it's very hot and humid, it is as authentic as it can get! :)

We drove here to find fried oyster after lunch. Full from lunch but still manage to eat oyster, cendol, rojak buah and sotong kangkung. Further down the road outside is the cart version. We parked somewhere at the back facing komtar as pictured. Worth dropping by and have some food, cendol

It's such a blessing to enjoy the Cendol in the sunny weather, along with delicious Asam Laksa, CKT, and Fried Oyster Egg. Places are quite chaotic though, very very crowded.

Long que Chendol stall. This is one of my favorite chendol stalls since I was young. Maybe due to the popularity, they have modified the taste. It used to be thicker and tasty fresh coconut milk. There is no seating available, where the customer needs to stand along the road side to enjoy the famous Chendol. And this is kind of the experience to enjoy Penang's hospitality. If you really want to have a more comfortable environment to enjoy it, you can visit their Penang Chendol restaurant just a few steps down the road. It costs RM4.50 per bowl of Chendol now.

This Teochew chendol really live up to their reputation. The sweetness is from the gula melaka (coconut sugar) and it doesn’t have that artificial taste. They are conveniently located at the entrance to the street and they also have a shop house further down the street where you can sit down and enjoy the chendol. The shop house also sells char kway teow and assam laksa. Taste wise they are also good. Shop house needs more fans / aircon as it is slightly warm inside

The boss will ask u 'eat here' or 'tapao', very considerate as for takeaway will put coarse shave ice - slow melting and snow flake ice to eat here. Chendol was top but ice kacang also not to miss.

As we walked along the street, we saw a long queue, and we joined them. Luckily, we actually plan to find chendol for our dessert after lunch. And we found this Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. Now we know why the queue is so long. The chendol we tried was so worth it. The sweetness was just nice. Chendol was chewy and nice texture. Really refreshing 👍 Besides, the service was really good. So fast. We can see the experience they had in making this good chendol from how fast and steady they make it. The payment process also fast.

Experienced a short queue when we visited (around 1-1:30pm) and met some friendly vendors at the cendol store. It was ok, lots of palm sugar in it. Has a slightly salty taste? Would be nice to have more ice, not the most ‘wow’ cendol but efficient service and fragrant coconut taste. I wonder what makes it famous amongst all other stores?

👍👍 The blurb on the signboard says "Since 1923", making this an almost 100-year-old establishment.
