A very delicious & simple cendol with the perfect level of sweetness. Always drop by here to get our cravings fix. The ice kacang is good too! Don’t get shocked when you see the long queue, (it moves pretty fast within minutes).
We came by several times and there was always a queue but when we finally came and queued it was rather disappointing. Service was nice and friendly but they serve so fast almost no ingredients in the cendol. Mostly ice and coconut with gula Malaka but the other ingredients almost all fell out when the server rushed to put them in the cup. Honestly nearby there are much better options at better prices.
Old run down little shop. A bit chaotic and hot inside even with all the fans. Depending on if you order drinks, chendul or hot food you have different barkers that will individually collect money once they bring your item to the table. It can be a bit confusing and chaotic as you order from 1 person and then pay as different items come out at different times. The service is quick though. Chendul is really good and their curry mee is also pretty flavourful and tasty. Parking can be a bit hard due to the tiny street. Nearby for 6myr, or street parking if you find it. Lots of pics along the walls and history in there. You don't come for a super luxurious environment or good customer service, but for the quality of certain foods.
A very popular Chendol Stall, which attracts a very long queue throughout the day Service staff were very fast and worked nonstop to clear the queue. The Chendol served was very rich in coconut cream and Gula Maleka. It is definitely a cut above the rest of the Chendol serves elsewhere in the whole of Malaysia
Worth a stop if youre in Penang!
A nice local dessert that is worth a mere $5 local Malaysian dollars. Excellent cold dessert! Highly recommend. There is also local dishes to try. Grab a seat inside and share a table.
I hadn’t been here in many years and some Butterworth locals had taken me to one of the shops on the mainland which they said was better, so I was keen to compare for myself how they stack up against each other now. I’m not exactly a cendol connoisseur but I think it’s good. The adzuki beans were good through and everything was well balanced. Overall, better than the shop I went to in Butterworth taste-wise, though not as good value. I wouldn’t queue for it though, and luckily, when we came on a Thursday lunch time there was no queue. The fried oyster egg was also nice, with plenty of oysters. Service was fast and efficient.
Stopped by Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul in Georgetown for a refreshing treat. The cendol had the perfect balance of creamy coconut milk, fragrant gula melaka, and soft green jelly, making it a delight on a hot day. Drinks were just as good, and the service was efficient and friendly. Definitely worth a visit for an authentic taste of this classic dessert.
As of June 2025, a bowl of this famous chendol costs RM5. Personally, I prefer my chendol with more shaved ice - this one was a bit too soupy for my taste. There were also very little red bean. But credit where it’s due - the service was quick and surprisingly friendly, especially for such a popular spot.
The chendol seems to be over hyped might as well have the same at any other place
The weather was hot outside and this was the perfect to cool down the heat. The line was quick for ordering the chendul, kinda same with Indonesian cendol. The taste was not too sweet, just perfect. Packed in a small bowl of plastic and can be enjoyed directly, oh it will be better consumed on the crossing bridge near the place. Have a great view of traffic and shops around it.
The best cendol we’ve had on our trip. Tasty coconut milk and good quality ingredients. Fried oyster omelette was rich in wok hei and was generous in small oysters. The Cheung fen texture was bouncy, but a little too sweet for me. Lastly fish in the otak otak was very soft and paired nicely with the herbs and light curry paste. Everything consistently great!
The food is nice. You can sit here and get the food along the street. Workers mentioned it's the same boss with others stall. Can enjoy the food inside and don't need a queue under the sun.
Delicious 😋
7.6/10 Viral wise The taste of cendol was more to black bean taste. Still worth to try but not the best cendol. And compare to buy it with waiting up to 20minutes and under the sunlight, better look up the other cendol places.

It’s very tasty. It freshens my day after a long walk. We are lucky that the line was not too long. The only downside is that they made the bowls very messy without providing any tissue. But hey, nothing to complain with such a cheap price. They even got Michelin star. The black sugar and coconut milk together mixed really well. It was sweet but not too heavy. I’d definitely want to come back again and again.
Feels like it’s less nicer compared to last year when I came. Do not get the assam laksa here as it’s…not good. The famous one is 3 doors away, which is super flavourful and thick 👌🏻
Laksa and Rojak taste ok. Kuih teow so so only, very small portion, RM10 is too overpriced, not worth at all. Cendol so terrible, very hard cendol, not nice.. not first but last. Boss hard sell his popiah, don’t ever try it, yucks.
Used to visit this place regularly, but this is my first time back in the past ten months. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the food this time. The fried oyster omelette tasted more like bland scrambled eggs with oysters thrown in — lacking any “wok hei (鑊氣)” (the signature smoky aroma from high-heat cooking). It was overly watery and had minimal starch. The iced cendol was also far too diluted, and the asam laksa lacked both fish and flavour, a huge contrast to the rich and savoury taste I remember from my previous visits.
Tried the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul and it definitely lived up to its name! The cendol was refreshing, with smooth pandan jelly, creamy coconut milk, and just the right amount of gula melaka. Perfect for a hot day in Penang. Worth a visit!
All the food tasted good and the staffs are friendly and helpful
Abc 和cendol 都是rm4, 对我来说它的不是最好吃的。 我要求的椰浆要浓一点。冰沙要细致点。
Needless to say, this has been my all time favourite to go whenever I'm in Penang. It's been 11 years since my last visit and I gotta say the taste and quality of the food has never changed! ❤️❤️❤️ Always recommend the Asam Laksa and the Chendul. Ntg less!
if i could give no stars, i would. the chendul was utterly disgusting!! how in the world are people giving this five stars for the chendul? it is so watery, no mountain of ice as a usual nyonya chendul, popiah was soggy and top hat is so hard.. as a nyonya, i would never ever recommend this place anymore, superbly disappointing - please avoid at all cost. there are much better chendul around. for the owners of this place, i hope you read this comment and try to improve - buat benda cincai macam ni, baik jangan buat saja dan tipu orang punya duit.. banyak dosa tau!
