This is one of the childhood memories food. I still visit it when opportunity arises. The main draw is called "law mee", a thick starch gravy with all the umami of pork and Chinese spices pour over noodles with stewed egg, pork meat and intestine as toppings. You can add chilli and grated garlic in vinegar to enhance the authenticity. The old chef may not have been around but the taste are maintained beyond my discerning senses of my tongue. Wish you can come and taste it

The location is quiet hidden between heritage buildings, temples and many tourist destinations in Little India area. The coffee shop itself is a beautiful vintage building, clean, cozy and cool ambience. I like their loor mee, thick sauce with pretty strong garlic fragrant and lots of pork chunks inside. Chicken feet is well-cooked and tender also. Delicious and big portion too. Despite of not so friendly but fast and attentive owner, with affordable price, this lor mee is one of the best in town.

Their Lor Mee is so delicious that you wish time stood still while you are eating. Highly recommended after a praying session at the famous Guan Yin temple a stone throw distance away.

The shop is located on the small alley beside the Kuan Yin Temple. This have famous for their Lor Mee. The taste is average and not much different compared to other.

Old Chinese shop, serving Hainan lor mee. Food is delicious - two kind of noodles, thick and sticky broth/sauce and lots of toppings - pork meat, pork intestines, skin, egg, liver and chicken feet. Add some sauce - chilli or garlic vinegar.

Another over-rated dish. The broth is starchy enough to glue yr tongue and palate. A bit strange that no black vinegar is provided. The two bottles of chilli and garlic sauce are too diluted. Anyway, I respect the comments of others. For me, this is my first and last visit

My third attempt here as previous two were closed or sold out and lucky enough today at try a bowl. Generous garlic, chilli n vinegar for one to add and overall experience is good but not the oomph level I had expected maybe because is my 3rd attempt here. Give it a shot as nearby is the iconic Goddess of Mercy temple👌

Lor mee here taste great again. It was great decades ago then it went downhill but it looks like they buckled up again. Prices aren't exactly cheap but you don't eat this everyday. Parking here is a but difficult but if you want to park further and walk, why not. I prefer to use a bike 😁

Last seen in August 2022. A hearty and delicious bowl of Hai Nam Loh Mee. Located next to the Goddess of Mercy Temple, this shop has been selling Loh Mee, or braised noodles, since 1957 and is now operated by the third generation. The small bowl came with pork slices, mushrooms, and an egg, while the big bowl had additional ingredients such as chicken feet, pig liver, pig intestines, and pig skin. The braised broth was prepared by boiling big bones into a soup base and adding five spice powders, then mixed with sauteed shallot oil and lard residue. You may adjust the taste with raw garlic vinegar and chili. The kopitiam offers daily boiled drink Longon & Luo Han Kuo (monk fruit), as well as steamed otak-otak and buns.

just dropped in for an iced coffee for Rm 2.20. I wasn't hungry so I didn't try the lor mee. I was the only customer so the coffee was served very quickly. Good for the price

My first time Hainan Lor Mee and I loved it! The soup was thick and rich. Friendly service. This place is next to a temple and you can enjoy local ambience.

Zup (sauce) was so kao (thick) and very generous with the ingredients. The fish otak also tastes fresh!

An oldskool eatery service traditional Hainan Lor Mee. Flavoured starchy noodle with pork & 'spare parts". Otak-otak is recommended.

One of the better lor mee I had the pleasure of eating lately. I am still thinking about it 9 months later ha ha. The lo bak is also very good (I am sure I took a pic but must have accidentally deleted it from my phone). The broth is thick and creamy and the dark soy sauce was just enough so the taste wasn't overwhelmed in any way. Needless to say, my bowl was quite clean when I was through with the meal.

(Translated by Google) The Haiming tea room next to the Guangfu Palace is the old taste of many people from Georgetown to the big ones. The locals call it “Kuanyin Pavilion”. The noodle soup is thick and thick, and the ingredients are not fish and shrimp, but pig liver, pig heart and other pig viscera and halogen eggs, which is a major feature. If you want to taste the ancient taste of local food in Georgetown, this is one of them.

For the taste wise is not bad. But portion is really small and too ridiculous pricey. No price were written on the stall. Tiny portion it costs RM12. I am not a tourist. Pls do not charge me tourist price. I guess Pg tourism are causing the hawkers to charge everyone more expensive and with tiny portion.

Great taste of authentic old Penang loh mee. 3rd generation now. But the only drawback is the opening days or hours are uncertain. Few times not open when visited.

Stall famous with Penangites for the Lor mee. This is a typical Hokkien dish. Not spicy and definitely a must eat when visiting Penang. Update Sept 2022: Over the years this is a coffee shop I regularly go to. I like their Lor mee especially with the garlic vinegar. We also recently tried the lorbak, which is quite nice too. They now have also half boiled egg. As others also mentioned, the otak otak is not really 'famous' :-) I love the feel and ambiance of the old-style kopitiam. Fortunately they have survived the Covid period and are still in business. Very friendly service too.

🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
