This place has no toilet facilities on the day of our visit. Coffee n service are great. Location is excellent. Just opposite Fort Cornwallis facing the main road. Parking is bad. You need to take a Grab there. Don't ever drive, no parking. Overall, excellent place to chill out with good coffee.

I came here for their chocolate drinks not coffee. But I heard their coffee is also nice. Not sure. Will come again to try coffee next time. The vibes are really nice and authentic. The barista or waiter I am not sure, were both really friendly. We just wore casual selekeh a bit but they tend us nicely. They give a cup of plain water upon ordering. That was really attentive of them. I like their signature better than sabah and kelantan chocolate drinks. Good experience. By the way the machine so nice 🥹

Good coffee with nice ambience, relax setting. Great place to chill or doing casual meet up. Plenty of electric sockets available to recharge phone/laptop juice.

Photos are all from previous regular visits. CG serves the BEST hot chocolate imo - right texture, consistency, thickness, without sugar. Still haven’t found another place that serves better hot chocolate. Coffee is great too - boss of the place is very serious & passionate about the biz. Staff are all very friendly & nice. Nothing to complain really 😂

A very fresh medium roasted coffee, smooth, fragrant, and no burnt smell paired really nice with their chocolate which taste quality, every cup of beverage is awesome, their cheesecake is also smooth, creamy and decorated with real fruits which is refreshing. Their service is also top notch, sop is in place and ambient also nice. Totally would come back to chill again whenever I'm at Penang.

The Iced Latte is just decent… but I believe it’s due to take-away and walk under the sun for 5 minutes before I could drink it. Need to try it dine-in. Anyway I really like the brownies with sea salt… 👍👍👍 Oh… they have very helpful and friendly staff 😁

we came for coffee since it was a walking distance from where we stay. the piccolo latte was great. The owner (Mr SK) is very humble, kind and friendly. He offered us a hot chocolate which was not on the menu and it was both creamy and delicious! will definitely come again the next time we visit Penang..

An epitome of coffee culture in Penang. Nice interior with cozy ambiance - a suitable setting for both relaxing and socialising sessions. Menu prices are within acceptable range. Not too expensive considering its prime location and high quality offerings. It was my first time here but I did not order coffee though. Had Earl Grey Supreme instead, and as the name suggests, Supreme it was indeed. Keen to visit and try their coffee or juices and desserts next time. Staffs were also friendly and did not hesitate to explain the menu.

The cafe is located in the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Across the road is the popular esplanade. It is a nice place to meet up with friends for coffee. There is a range of different coffee and pastries available here. Service is OK. The toilet is under repair when I had breakfast this morning. Parking can be a problem as it is at a busy commercial area.

Smooth penang coffee, not bad the taste. Maybe I'm coffee lover and the coffee taste is not as strong as I think although I have request extra shot (Total of 3 shot for 1 coffee). Variety of dessert and pastry. Cosy environment with friendly staff.

Ordered floral rose tea and black coffee. The rose tea impressed me, I really love its unique fragrance and my partner likes the black coffee as well. The coffee price of Rm7 is pretty affordable while a pot of rose tea costs Rm12. A cozy and great ambience cafe in Penang. The only downside of the cafe is that no WiFi is provided here even though there are ready sockets here.

One of the best coffee in Penang, their filtered coffee is really good. There isn't a washroom in the cafe itself, it's located within the building, accessible by key. Unfortunately, the washroom in the building was inaccessible during my visit, we were advised to visit the public toilet at the opposite side of the road.

This is definitely a great place for tea and coffee with delightful deserts that goes along so well with your beverage. Great place to sit back and chill while having a chat, or enjoying an evening read. Recommend to try the Garden’s Four Seasons. The service was also very pleasant. The vibe of the place is very relaxed and aesthetic. The menu is also well priced. Definitely would recommend visiting this cafe.

This is one of the top cafes up there in the list. I've been there countless times, because it's a great hangout/gathering place. During festive days ex. Christmas, it has a chill & merry vibe to it. Also, this cafe does NOT add sugar into their drinks, because it will cloud the taste notes for the beans itself, so if you like your drink sweet, ask for it. Prices are decent as you are enjoying in a lively/cozy environment not otherwise. Having no toilet in the cafe, it's pretty understandable when you were to see the size of the cafe. Since it's a heritage area in Penang, parking is a hassle sometimes, it's unavoidable anyways. Overall, it's a wonderful experience, would definitely come back anytime just to relax.

Taste: 4/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 5/5 ⭐ Price: RM39 for 3 drinks We had a latte and two hot chocolates here. Latte was quite normal. The Gardener Dark Magic Hot Chocolate was velvety smooth and had a balance of bitter and sweet notes. But it had an unidentifiable aftertaste. The Malaysia Single Origin Hot Chocolate was better. It also has the same texture but it’s a little bit more bitter. This cafe is good for non-coffee drinkers as there are quite a few chocolate options. Best item of the visit: Malaysia Single Origin Hot Chocolate Will we return: Maybe Follow us on Instagram @mealtimeagain

A decent coffee place but I personally recommend to come at odd hours if you enjoy the tranquility. The coffee experience there was great but the takeaway coffee bean experience was not that glad. I was informed that they need to finish the orders in hand before they could pack my 200g coffee beans (which is understandable) but it took me 20 minutes of waiting just for my 200g beans. (I should have just ordered while having my coffee to avoid another round of waiting) The toilet was outside so do remember to ask for keys but it was slightly smelly and dirty for a cafe standard.

The best coffee experience I had in Penang was this unassuming place. The coffee is brilliant, the Beatles are playing in the background and the owner, Mr Eskay (sorry if I didn't spell this right) was one of the most amazing individuals we met in Penang. You know your coffee is gonna be good when you see quantitative equation of taste and acidity from different types of coffee beans. Besides, CG has the ambition of revolutionising the way we consume coffee. Just get their coffee hit in a can - a good quality cuppa in a chilled can. If I can drink coffee non-stop I'll probably finish three cans in a day. Plus, the owner made us try the hot chocolate, which was rich in generosity and taste. This place is a must visit if you're in town, or in my case, revisit.

If you appreciate a good cup of hand brewed coffee , i sincerely recommend this place . The two baristas working here are friendly . And special mention to my brewer SC , he actually checked with me on my coffee that he brewed. Kudos and keep it up . From a barista to a barista

I had liberica several times and never really fond of it. Here they have an award-winning liberica beans and was wondering how good it is. So the barista Vers made me some. It was really great - an almost perfect hand brew. The grapefruit aroma was strong and aftertaste was very pleasant. It lacks the caffein punch I expected but this would be great for evening coffee or as a mouthwash. Overall I am very pleased with it. If you are fond of pour over, come and give this a try. I like it. The barista is skilled. The place is cosy and the music is not so loud. Better if they can play smooth jazz.

Very nice café in Georgetown, a little far away from the crowds but still accessible with parking nearby. They do an excellent pour over coffee, served in wine glasses, which was quite enjoyable! We also tried the soursop cheesecake and it was excellent. There is limited seating, so try to get there early for a spot, especially if you're in a larger group. There is no Wi-Fi in the shop, so if you want to work on your laptop, be prepared to use a hot spot.

Filtered coffee interestingly served in a wine glass. Our first experience drinking coffee from wine glass. Compels you to enjoy the aroma before taking the first sip. We enjoy the Peruvian filtered coffee most. Will recommend this place to those we take their coffee seriously. :)

Quite a nice place, service is good & the crew knowledge was V good. Coffee & Tea was good too. Ice cream presentation can be better but the taste was good.

Excellent coffee latte and service, the cake was also very good, they provide no internet due to some infrastructural issue in their area. If you need internet you will need to rely on your mobile data, please make sure you sit then next to the glass front because the other end doesn't have good mobile data coverage. They place is very clean, and well staffed to take care of every customer, they brought me free filter water many times. Highly recommended.

Nice place to relax. Hot Chocolate 62% with Key Lime Tart is amazing. Filter coffee also wonderful. Penang Small Piccolo not to my liking.

Ordered Ethiopia Bildimoo filtered coffee and it was creamy with slightly floral & fruitiness, taste just like a dessert cake. The staff was friendly, definitely enjoyed my time here

The cafe environment is good. and the Garden Magic Choco tasted quite good. Just the cappucino abit normal taste, nothings extra. One lose point is they dont hv a proper toilet.

One of the best cafe in Penang, best for its coffee and cocoa. Of course the pastries are worth to try also.

Slightly pricey but this place has great single origin chocolate drink options, potentially the best on the island. Pavlova is also highly recommended.

Lovely staff, ambiance and coffee! Great selection of coffees and chocolate drinks. Shop's strict adherence to SOP (Checking of mysejahtera vaccination, staff's constant mask on, table capacity and sanitizing practice) really made me feel comfortable dining in. See if you can get the street facing seats to people watch. There are plenty of coffee cafes in penang and while their selection is also good, I must say this is one of the best places for chocolate lovers. Wide selection and varying taste profiles. Sea salt brownie was spectacular. Parking and toilet is the only pain point here. Their toilet is shared with the chamber of commerce building and its not very well maintained when I last visited. As for parking, try your luck at Lebuh King and Lebuh Bishop.

Nice ambiance. The coffee, choc and matcha are perfect to me at least.

Beautiful spot this is. Mad scientist and bunch of real proper baristas and individuals behind these counters. Coffee is never the same whenever I jazz, or so I like think I do cause it's always quality control here and there. It might sound bias as you read this but yeah, it's a proper place, met many good folks and new friends at that stretch of a bar during the night, over a cup of coffee and a highly caffeinated conversation. Thank you for existing and serving amazing stuff.

#TipsForTrips: Take a window seat that gives you a scenic view of the Esplanade field while sipping your coffee! A most beautiful cafe in a lovely part of town. Love the ample space and greens, a perfect spot to wind down and taking life slow. Service is wonderful and barista are friendly. The coffee is aromatic and flavorful while the ‘Burnt cheesecake’ is a must try! It’s definitely unique.

Strict with SOP but super friendly and efficient staff. Love the ambience and the coffee and cakes too. Try their burnt coffee cheesecake - a must. Ps: their toilet uses motion sensors or else you will be plunged into darkness. Definite place to visit again.
