👍👍 Vintage style cafe. Small but cozy. I have question! Is it halal? I took picture and only bought the coffee because I’m not sure if it is halal or not. The owner is very friendly too. One side is coffee, the other side is bakery & pastries. Both looks tasty! People often mention coffee, good, bagel, cafe, nice, great, cake, friendly, cheese, delicious,

Great coffee, delicious pastries and wonderful bagel in Penang, no wonder they are packed and popular. One side of the cafe serves pastries and cakes while the other serves coffee and bagels. Coffee was strong and full of roasty, nutty flavour. Cream cheese bagel was perfect - crispy on the outside yet chewy and soft inside with generous amount of cream cheese. The ham and cheese croissant was also excellent, buttery pastry with a hint of sweetness. The cafe seemed narrow but there's a lot of seating space as it is quite long. I like the high ceiling in some parts that gives lots of natural light, while some parts are quite dark and hidden. Staff were quite nice and friendly too! A must visit if you are in Penang.

Recommended by a local and not disappointed - great advice that saved me time in visiting and filtering. Fantastic café and integrated pastry shop. Quiet background jazz music, not overly loud Muzak! Very high quality home-made quality foods e.g., yoghurts, shakes. Friendly. Fascinating property that you should fully explore - the depth of the café and its aesthetics.

Nice designer hangout carved out of two prewar shophouses on busy Chulia Street corner with infamous Love Lane. A full deck of sweet cake choices but no alcohol in recipes to broaden its appeal to young travellers. A bevy of school girls cackle so loudly that better soundproofing would be welcomed in the long and narrow enclave. Latte were handcrafted and did not disappoint. The cheesecakes were rather dry, crusty hard from lack of butter and overly sweet.

Ordered Pistachio lemon cake and Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. The cake was up to standard, taste not bad. Bagel wise, the chef was very generous with the spread (a bit too generous 😅), match well with smoked salmon. Also ordered an apple celery juice without add on sugar. Taste very green, refreshing with a hint of salt. Absolute hydrating. Environment wise consider comfortable with air-conditioning but flies were around, slightly disturbing. Overall, quite good experience in this cafe. Floor crew were very helpful and friendly. Love the free and easy vibe.

Outstanding food and coffee, and friendly staff! I stopped by for homemade yogurt and coffee my first morning in town, and went back the next two days as well. I’ve been traveling for 2 1/2 months around SE Asia, this was the best coffee I’ve had since Cambodia five weeks ago! I thought the prices were in line with other restaurants, but the quality is outstanding. Wish I could take it with me on the rest of my trip! Highly recommend!

Great coffee. Friendly and kind staff. Chill atmosphere and ambiance. Strong AC for those hot and humid days. Great selection of baked goods. I would highly recommend coming here for some breakfast, a coffee break or some chill vibes.

There is a wide variety of pastry and bake. Such a delight to browse the display counter. The coffee really hits the spot too. I was there for breakfast and it’s not many cafe opens in early hours. If you are a morning person like me do come here to try. People can be more friendly perhaps it’s too early to wear a smile 😅 also a bit on the pricey side. I went back for pastries on the second day, the banana poppy muffin was good and not overly sweet!

Mugshot Cafe is definitely the best place for Europe style pastry breakfast. Bagel is their top highlight, we tried the one with cream cheese. The bagel itself is soft in the inside the slightly crumb on the outside, generous amount of cream cheese with high quality and freshness to it. There is a bakery next to it in which we tried the ham & cheese croissant, its flaky and every single bite you will feel the ham and cheese flavor. Coffee itself is good as well, strong nutty flavor. There is glasses shop behind the shop as well.

📍The Mugshot Cafe, Georgetown Bagels literally baked by WOOD-FIRE in a cozy-looking oven - that’s a fraction of what you get in this cafe of nearly 10 years 🥯 🔥 The Mugshot Cafe has already marked a name for itself in Penang’s cafe scene, and this is a go-to destination for both tourists and locals alike. I throughly enjoyed their signature Greek Yoghurts. I had the Gula Melaka & Jackfruit Greek Yoghurt 🍦 oooooh, heavenly. We had the Salmon Bagel - filled with cream cheese and baked in the oven, the bagel was crispy and delicious. Though a little too creamy for Michelle, it would likely cater to the tongues of many others. We shared a Matcha Croissant 🥐, and also an Avocado Sandwich 🥪 equally delicious. This is clearly a spot that’s been seasoned with years of experience in the cafe scene. Perfect to bring friends or family for some serious dishes.

I didn’t eat much of the food to know how to rate. I tried the mango walnut yoghurt, the texture wasn’t exactly ideal, but it tasted really healthy and natural. It served the purpose well. I ordered hot Americano. It looked really enticing, the water is glittery, texture is rich and creamy. I love its short tables and chairs. The shape of the shop is very deep and long. Walk all the way to the end you’ll pass through a mini spectacles shop. You can actually drink coffee in the midst of an optic shop. The service was great! The staff responded to you promptly with exciting smiles and warm greetings! They send your food and drinks to you wherever you are in the shop! ❤️ Thank you for being around in town and in business for so long. I remember being in your shop in 2017. It feels good to be able to visit places you remember. And it feels a bit sad if you remember somewhere nice and when you want to re-visit, it’s no longer in business. It’s the same with everything else.

Had a cafe latte, it was good. Had a devil chocolate cake. Cake was dry and hard. Requested to heat it up in the oven and it was much better after. Unfortunately, there are common house fly around the dining area.

Very interesting cafe with very nice and delicious coffee. Unique design with heritage feel on the overall setup and display. It's a long shop, with different design on different segment. Every corner will have different surprise. In the end of the shop, that's a very unique and special optic shop, in here you can fine a lot of exclusive designs and brands.

We stopped by this morning for a coffee and quick breakfast. The coffee was great and croissants from the bakery next door (same owner, I believe) were very tasty. Plenty of tables and seating down the narrow interior. Prices are a little high for Malaysia, however still more affordable than my home country so no problems.

Nice environment. It's quite suitable for meeting up friends for chit chat here and at the same time enjoy their food and beverages. They also serve variety of cakes and bread. Really recommend to try their onde-onde cake as it taste really delicious! Prices are consider reasonable compared with other restaurants around that area. There is free WiFi available as well. Absolutely gonna revisit to try out more of their food and beverages.

Love it in just the 1st bite. Their smoked salmon bagel is banyak oomph. Coffee is also darker then most I’ve tried but at the same time richer is texture. Definitely coming back again.

We ordered quite a lot - pastries, cakes, sandwich and coffee. The coffee was OK. The cakes were OK. The devil's food cake was nice. Pastries were not so flakey and light. The level of cleanliness was not so great. This affected our overall experience. Mouldy walls ...damp walls. We sat at the section after the cake counter... right at the end. Water pipes from upstairs were there. It was very very dirty. Black n mouldy . Lots of flies too!!! With the flies and the filthy corner, we had half the mind to get up and leave!! Since we ordered so much, we quickly ate and left. First and last. Tq.

Came around 3pm, was crowded but still managed to get a table quite fast. Wide variety of cakes & desserts available. The hand crafted latte & ondeh dessert is good. Remember to take your mugshot photo! Best to seat indoors, but also not under the open air, due to flies.

Came in on a Friday afternoon, was greeted with a warm friendly welcome by the owner. They had a wide selection of baked goods by the bakery. But I came there for the bagels according to recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. Beautifully crispy on the outside topped with sesame seeds and when you bite into it, it's a nice warm fluffy goodness. I'm so used to having coffee bean's cream cheese bagel but this is next level stuff. Got the bacon and egg bagel, looks simple and humble but delivers on taste. Will definitely come again to try the salmon and cream cheese. Had fresh juice and a latte which was a good portion size but one may say the juice is a little on the pricey side. Tho all fresh fruit juices are increasing in price so can't complain. Loved how they don't put any sugar in and it's available on the table for you to add. Ambiance was great, music selection fantastic. Created a nice comfortable setting. Overall, I would definitely come here again for the food and great service.

Cafe has a laid back vibe like those in Bali, with graffitis around. The croissant and coffee that we ordered were pretty good. Heard they have great bagels which are baked with wood-fired oven. Nice place to hang out while escaping from the sun 😄

Cappuccino was good and the salmon bagel was quite okay. Worth the try. Maybe I expected too much because of all these good reviews about the bagel. Anyway I liked the rich cream cheese spread and the bagel that was crispy outside and chewy inside.

They know what they are doing. Food: The bagel must be the best I’ve had, and I’ve been around. The coffee is spot on. I had a cappuccino. I would like to know where it’s from. Service: Great service. The place is busy, yet they know how to keep their cool and serve well. It’s all worth while and the vibe is grate.

Parking- It’s never easy to find parking in Georgetown, that’s if you need one. Here’s no different. There’s always an option to takeaway regardless! Food- I tried the bagels (cheese cream and salmon), they were good! Next round, I’d love to try their cakes and pastries- they all looked so delicious. Service- The staffs were quite friendly. We waited about 10-15 mins for our order. Environment- Plenty of instagrammable sections of the cafe. They had a recording session for an upcoming show on RTM for year 2022 when I was there. The lady with the signboard in the photo is the host.

Great place to pop into for a coffee, some eggs on toast, or a pasta. Everything I have eaten here is excellent. (If you prefer your eggs on a croissant, you can order one from next door at Rainforest Bakery --thier other business-- and they will use that too.) Great service, and a good vibe. 100% reccomend.

It was a cafe shop when their first business. Then it’s expanded cake shop at beside. It’s a colonial shop house and remained old pattern. Many customers from everywhere. Cafe latte RM15.50. It’s hot and delicious. Lemon butter cake and chocolate cake total RM45.50. Cake price is high but it’s really delicious and nice texture. Chocolate cake is really full of chocolate layer and suitable for chocolate lovers. It’s recommended to friend gathering.

Decided to try this place after seeing the high reviews on Google. However it is not worth the high price tag. We ordered the bagel with cream cheese (RM11.50). You can get a better bagel at Coffee Bean with a cheaper price and much better ambience.

Love this concept! There’s cafe, optician at the back and a bakery. Deco is hipster fun with a lot of feel and creativity. It is nice to peep into the bakery’s kitchen, an small area visible to all who walks past the middle portion of the area We ordered the carrot cake which was way beyond our expectations. Moist and with chunks of walnuts for very yummy bites. Huge serving too. .

Walked by and was enticed by the ambiance to try. There are 2 sections, 1 sell beverages and the other bread and cake. As we had heavy breakfast, so we only ordered 2 drinks and a cake. Cake and drinks were good (coffee cheese cake is very sweet), but pricy. Limited seats as most were occupied. People then to chill after finishing their food and drinks since the nice atmosphere to relax.

We went into this cafe with high expectations after seeing their social media and reviews. We were promptly disappointed. The seats aren't comfortable and, water from the air conditioning kept dripping on us and made it uncomfortable. The place is very dirty and adds to the discomfort. Pasta was 👎 but bacon and egg bagel was its redeeming factor.

Nice ambiance. Good thing about this place is you can order croissants from the shop next to it. Ordered hot choc with a croissant just want to get the feel in Paris (because just done watching Emily in Paris season 3) 😂 kinda sad that the hot choc is wasn’t that thick and the croissant was not that crispy. But still worth to try it out. There’s a optic shop behind this cafe, you’ll definitely see it if you go to the washroom 😉

Cosy place for afternoon tea and gathering with friends. Yogurt seems to be a popular option with customers. We did not try as we only came in for simple drinks. Nice place overall. (Translated by Google) I went there at noon, so it was crowded. There were seats outside, and the innermost part of the vertically long shop was an eyeglass shop. The seats in the back were a little dim, but the atmosphere was good. Since it was a form of sitting down after ordering, I ordered at the counter near the entrance. This time I ordered bagels and scrambled eggs toast The bagels were hard to eat, but the butter taste was soaked in and it was delicious! Scrambled eggs are also freshly made and I am very satisfied with my eyesight and taste! The price is a little high, but I feel like I understand why it's so popular. There were seats with outlets, so it is a recommended cafe for Nomads. (There were actually nomads) (Original)

I must say the cake is terrible considering you selling close to RM20 per piece. With the price I am expecting the cake at least similar to "secret recipe" standard, however it offering like "pasar malam" standard as the cream made from marjerine based. The drink is neither good, we ordered a Chai Latte and jackfruit smoothies. Jackfuit smoothies turned out to be sour taste because of yogurt that break our common understanding that it is sweet. Situation would be like when you get a sour banana drink or sour ciku drink or sour persimmon drink. Yuck!! Meanwhile, chai latte not hot enough. I understand it would be easier to craft art, however too low temperature destroy the taste.

One of the best place for bagel in Penang. Bagel with the classic cream cheese, bacon and egg, smoked salmon, and more. They use a brick oven to bake the bagel, giving it a hint of wood smokiness. Adjacent to the cafe is Rainforest bakery, selling good selection of sourdough, croissant, bread and pastry. A popular brunch place.

A cup a day. Enjoying latte and cakes at one go. They have come out with new menu and it is totally awesome especially the croissants pudding and walnut yogurt.

I like the bakery here especially the cinnamon roll and bagel 🥯 The pastry there is really nice! I came back here after 2 years so I brought my partner to there again. My partner and I ordered a bagel with bacon and egg and scrambled egg with ham on toast then 2 glasses of orange juice costs Rm57.90 is like wow the price is like really expensive but taste is really good and fresh juice without sugar so we still feel is acceptable.

Good service and good environment, but the breakfast here quite weird. Crunchy bread with Turkey ham. Funny was the ham was cold. Salmon bread not bad. Food 10-10 Drinks 10-10 Service 10-10 Hygiene 9-10 Prices over priced. Tourist attractions
