Blue Chang MODERN THAI CUISINE

Restaurant

👍 I think this place has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Penang. The food is just lovely and prices are reasonable as well. Love the crab omelette whilst the Thai fish cake is awesome! I think it’s better to dine in rather than do a takeaway so as to get the best out of the meal! People often mention Thai, dishes, restaurant, crab, service, taste,

The food are undeniably delicious and authentic but the service could do better. We arrived during the reservation time to be informed that our names are not in the list and the staff even asked us to check upstairs. Meanwhile, our friend was already at his seat seat. That aside, the food worth 2 thumbs up and the crowd is huge. Best to call for reservation. We would like to try for their signature crab meat dishes but were informed that the crab meat dishes were sold out too. Therefore, would be great if you call them up for dishes reservation to avoid disappointment.

Foods are above average. But dislike the long table, not convenience to share the foods.

Excellent service by the staff here, friendly and polite. The taste of the dishes were unique and mostly Thai fusion. The green curry gravy was really thick and not too spicy. Fried crab rice is really nice and not too oily. The mix plater is recommended for 2 pax sharing for smaller portion. Overall medium portion and dishes were not too spicy. The green mussel cooked in onion, leaves and chilli is really tasty. Good dining environment but the price is slightly higher.

Excellent Thai restaurant in town. Their portion is medium size with very affordable price. Food is so delicious and authentic Thai tastes. Google map showing a bit tricky route to go. You can have easier route to access the place with some public parking lot available outside. Will comeback here for more good food

Food is fantastic. Very authentic Thai food. We love the Tom yum soup very much. The fish very delicious. Prawn cake taste very Thai. The kailan is ok. We will go again. However, not easy to find parking during dinner time.

One of best Thai food restaurants at Penang island. We order Tom yam mama bowl RM88 for 2 person. The Tom yam soup best not too hot and Thai taste 👅. Many choice at this restaurant menu. Have chance will come back and try other food. Environment restaurant good better make the reservation during dinner time. We went without reservation luckily have seat for us. Limited parking space there suggest park Palau tikus main road and walk there. Overall great Thai food served at this restaurant 👍🏻😊

I loved my dining experience. I got the fried rice with two extra eggs and some vegetables with a garlic sauce that was divine. The portions were big and the dishes perfectly seasoned. I recommend this place which is by the way very affordable .

Craving for Thai crusine for sometime now and with the pandemic, travelling to Thailand is impossible. Overall is a satisfied dinner. Flavourful dishes. Shall visit again for other dishes.

Nice food n good service... just d parking spaces is not meant for d customers as it's for the club member...

Share photo previous :Housed in the Penang Club annex, the Thai restaurant takes up a corner space of the building; the atmosphere is intimate- modest but exudes minimalist elegance (without heavy Thai knick-knacks) . The menu features flavorsome Thai food, often with a modern twist; do not expect the prices to be low here... but they commensurate with large serving portion. If Pulau Tikus is within your usual lunch area, their Set Lunch is worth a look.

One of the worst Thai restaurant. The location is pretty hard to find and Waze direction is misleading. We have to drive round and round and finally called up the restaurant. Pre order their signature green curry crab Komtar which was really disappointed. The dish cost around Rm78 but the presentation was really like hawker stall. The taste was not great as too much of santan. The kangkung was salty and the BBQ skewer was not genuine too. Even pasar malam one tastes better. To spend hundreds over for this type of food quality was really ripped off.

Food is not bad but nothing special, similar to most Thai restaurant. However, service is quite bad. We ordered a platter and the prawn cake as advertised is missing but they didn’t inform us earlier and we only found out when the food arrived. We had to shout for service because although the waiters are standing around looking in our direction, both of them ignored our frantic arm waves to come over to our table, especially to ask for the bill. We do expect better service for spending nearly rm400 at this place.

The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. However, the food is standard Thai cuisine that can be found anywhere. It did not justify the price they charged. For 5 people, the portion of each food is quite small.

Bad experience! Order 3 dishes which originally rm200++. But waitress personally wrote the wrong order.. and cost us rm400++ And it can’t be changed. Tat crab meat without any sauce cost Rm258. That’s the one which is not our order. Ridiculous!

Food was delicious especially for the seafood Tom yum, fish with special sauce, crab meat fried rice and kailan with roasted pork. Omelette taste was good but was expecting it to be done like Thai style ie fluffy type. The only let down was the soft shell crabs which was too oily and soggy. Hopefully they can add Chinese tea into their menu in future. Staff was friendly and nice ambiance. Parking is limited. Non halal restaurant.

A totally different taste of Thai food I've ever had in Penang or anywhere in Malaysia. It was awesome. Flavourful. Rich. Will definitely visit again.

Authentic Thai cuisine. Favorite is the crab roll and prawn cake. Pleasant dining atmosphere. Price a little high but worth it.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
